@@pitman2911 ok, so its nothing like a Mustang EXCEPT it shares the Borg Warner T5 gearbox, the engine came straight from a Mustang and it has a borg warner rear diff. so ignoring the bodyshell, what exactly on this car ISNT mustang??
yes the Mustang has the film icon status, but who makes all the films....America. where is the Mustang from....America.
do you really think that the Mustang would be the icon it is now, if they had made Bullitt in South Africa and used a Cortina (the predecessor of the Sierra) instead? or if the 'eleanor' car had been a Ford Capri (european one) in Gone in 60 seconds? had it not been for the Dukes of Hazzard and the Fast and Furious franchises, most people outside of America would probably not know the Dodge Chargers (or Challengers i always confuse them) exist, other than on the internet!
the Definition of a Muscle car was alwyas a BIG engine in a SMALL (comparitively) car, that could only go FAST in a STRAIGHT LINE. and according to the owner in the video, because of the power the handling is terrible, so fits the Muscle car category perfectly! it usess the 'muscle car' mustang Engine! America came up with the definition of a Muscle car, and this car ticks every box.
@@petelattimer6808 what if, if that we could go on and on ,people that are into cars know their cars they dont need movies most of the time been passed down from father, grandfather maybe few magazine's growing up .the Australian muscle car the XY GT HO FORD FALCON 351was the fastest 4 door in the world it was built in 1971,im not sure if it was in 2009 or 2011 that they made something faster. Now that held that record for many years nothing came close, did the Italian, German, English, American know about this beast of a car dont think so but people that are in to cars know,Australia had the XA GT HO PHAZ 5 which they stopped production and was ban on the road because it was to powerful does the world know about this one as well people that know their muscle cars do.a muscle car has got to have history has to look tuff as you look at it you got to feel that this car means business when you drive it you always thinking this car wants to kill me its a different feeling .muscle cars are not small not at all the 2 doors are as big as the 4 doors ,big motor and aggressive style to them.Sierra,Cortina,Capri are no were near a muscle car never will be,they sell for nothing here in Australia. about the movies and what if what you mentioned the Mustang made it because of what it is tuff aggressive mean pure muscle, there is a reason why we dont see sierra,Capri,Cortina in movies there is no wild factor...simple
@@pitman2911 which is fine if you are USA based. you will have to go a long way to find any of the early Mustangs or chargers etc here in the UK. without the internet, or TV etc they would ne unheard of here
TRUE BLUE
I notice that Sierra is way to high in the front. the headlights would light up the moon. but cool anyways. i thought i all about eu Fords, but never seen a xr8 untill today. And i have Granadas and scorpios etc. and legally got to build a v8 Granada because of the production of the V8 302 in South Africa
Pinto OHC is pretty good also
I learnt something today. V8 sierras = wtf. Only new them as 2l , turbo 2l and v6. Never new them as a v8. South Africa had some cool ideas with vehicles in the day.
