Hi
I have an idea for a video how good were the 2006 Detroit Tigers
Logan Detwiler how bad were the 2003 tigers
He's pretty good
Wish he had a good team.
Lmao MLB
He is better than pretty good :)
Wish he played on the Rangers.
Only if Angels would actually spend money of pitchers
can confirm that Mike Trout is good at baseball
And top golf

Yes
He’s okay i guess
He’s ok I guess

@Crunchy Napkin hed throw a solid 50 mph, go 1-35, and have a 53.05 ERA and win two cy youngs at once
@@risengrind8059 ay man, trouts hit like 95 as an outfield throw...maybe he got some gas
@@risengrind8059 he throws 98 mph from the outfield and he used to pitch very well.
He was a knuckleballer too, I miss knuckleballs

He is no doubt the best in the mlb. It's just that he plays for the frickin' angels.
They did get madden and fire the GM and Albert is gonna free up money and a spot n the order. I think he can get to a World Series before it’s over. They just need to invest in pitching. Lots of pitching.
give it some time.
Ashton Rodgers they’re an established starter away and making sure their offense doesn’t slip this offseason from competing for the playoffs and maybe a WS. They played well in September because they had 4 young players step up and become impact players (Walsh, Barria, Ward and Mayer) and Upton also got hot. If even just 2 of them continue that into next year, they sign a starter, get a little bullpen help, and at least keep their offense where it is, they’ll be a fun team to watch next year. Ohtani was also bad offensively this year, that’s a huge boost if he gets back on track next season. Not to mention Ohtani will be back on the mound, that’s kind of the dark horse. They could be anywhere from under .500 again to really, really, really good if their players play the way they’re capable of.
@@noahmcdaniel4920 We need Trevor Bauer
@@aAsShHtTo0nN you gotta admit he wasnt better the peak barry bonds 70 homeruns ??😭 dont think anyone will ever peak like that
If this guy played for a team like let’s say the Yankees his name would be everywhere. He is literally one of the best players ever for a major sport across the world. He deserves more recognition and respect!
plus he from jersey too
Legend has it...
Mike Trouts golf ball is still traveling to this very day
And babe Ruth
It’s still traveling a year later
He sent that baby into orbit
We need to appreciate the fact we got/get to watch Mike Trout and Clayton Kershaw play baseball around the same time. Truly two of the greatest of all time separated by a freeway
Trout far better than Kershaw tbh but kershaw is stupidly good. Just speaks to how disgusting trout is that I think they’re incomparable
The craziest thing is that he’s only 29, but already an undisputed first ballot Hall of Famer. And if someone said he doesn’t deserve to be in the hall or that he’s overrated, we’d all agree that person needs to be institutionalized.
He’s such a class act, if a writer kept him off their ballot they’d likely lose their vote lol
@@Yeldineyintun crazier things have happened such as Junior not being a unanimous selection.
He is overrated.
@@Seth655 definitely not overrated
@@PlasticMan052 He can only be considered overrated becuz, he's talked about as a guy who hits .330 40-50 hrs and 120 RBIS every year, hes godly but not that
Is it just me, or does Mike Trout look like he could be a Linebacker?
He totally does, which is why it's so insane that he is still (!) 26th in baseball in sprint speed. He also happens to be the oldest player in the top 35, and second-oldest in the top 50. Only a few names in sport history come to mind with that type of build and still that much speed. Bo Jackson, for one.
I’m getting more of a safety vibe. I feel like minkah Fitzpatrick is a good comparison
he looks like jason vorhes. They played a game i think 2 years back in minasota or something like that, freezing cold. so he had a full face mask on and he hit a dinger and it looked like a big ass monster swinging the bat.
he's got a stupidly thick neck.
He could play any position he wanted to if he played football
People want his batting stance to be the new white silhouette on the official MLB Logo. That’s how good he is.
The way he gets the barrel right on the ball so freaking much is in my opinion the craziest thing about him. It's like he knows exactly where the ball is going to be and exactly where he needs to put the bat and exactly where the ball will go after making contact
Agree. It’s no surprise to anyone who watches him that he is 99% in hard hit/barrel rate. He’s the goat. I’m honored to get to see him play, even on tv
Exactly where he will run If he puts the ball in play, exactly what will happen if the Halos are down after the bottom of the ninth (Loss) 😌
I got to see him play in St. Louis last year. Greatest player I've seen since Pujols when I was a child.
Haven't watched the video yet, I'm guessing he is pretty good
Jon Bois
i’d say that’s a good guess
He's good, but not Pretty Good.
He's alright I guess
@@txisbest2010 Good is better than pretty good.
I’m pretty sure if he retired today, he would still be unanimously elected into the Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility.
Too bad he plays for a team that never contends for the WS. I think more people would realize how good he is if he had more exposure by being on a winning team.
i think thats part of why he's so special. He's not on the best teams but he still outperforms everyone else because thats just how good he is
A lot can change in 3-4 years. Hopefully.
Forget World Series, at least make something happen and not have your only appearance be part of a 3 game sweep.
If he was on the Yankees, he'd be the next Derek Jeter in terms of praise and status.
Imagine being one of the best players to ever live and being on one of the worst teams possible. ... ... ... ... and then wanting to stay. ... ... ... for another decade.
Mike Trout stole 49 bags (led the MLB) hit 30 homers, scored 129 runs (led the MLB) batted .326, had an OPS+ of 168 (led the AL) had 10.5 bWAR, finished second in MVP voting only behind the first triple crown winner since the 60s, as a 20 year old rookie. All that being said, I think he’s pretty good at baseball.
The question is now which will happen first:
Mike Trout wins a playoff game
The Minnesota Twins win a playoff game
The Seattle Mariners just make the playoffs
ESPN be like: Mike Trout plays for the Los Angeles Angels and this video is 8 minutes 24 seconds long.
He’s been good for so long I remember my mind being blown when I saw how young he is!
He might end his career as the best baseball player ever. Absolutely amazing how good he is and he already is showing it again in 2021.
First he won the genetic lottery, then he did great things with the gifts he was given!! Hats off to one of the greatest ever!!

Honestly when I first started getting into baseball by Mike trouts body frame I didn't think he would be as fast as he actually is he is very fast and I would have never thought that when I first saw him on TV
We have to appreciate his greatness is happening before our very eyes.
Best player in baseball that won't leave a team that'll probably never win a ring with him.
angels need to pick up trevor buaer however you spell his name. the team just needs an ace pitcher. bundy was a good suprise but they need to quit playing around and get a proven ace. if they can do that, bundy keeps pitching well, and ohtani keeps his arm healthy, watch out!

3:29 im a Rangers fan and i love Mike Trout, i love the "Happy Birthday" followed by the homer
@Don Clark He definitely should be if he keeps up this pace but some voters might try to keep him out because of him having almost no play off appearances. Voters definitely do take that into consideration, just look at Derek Jeter. 100% deserves to be in the HOF, but second highest voting % of all time? Also, the only player he is behind was his teammate, Mariano Rivera
@Don Clark He was inducted last year. He was 1 vote off of being a unanimous hall of famer
@Don Clark first?!?!?! Mariano Rivera wants to know your location...
Could’ve sworn it was Trout himself who made the video when I first looked at the description!
I found this on RUclips. Cricket and Rugby are our national games. Incredible power. incredible running, incredible fielding. I get the impression, he one of those gifted natural athletes, that could make a show in any sport.
Now that they have Walsh along with Rendon, Trout now has help to get him to playoffs. What they need is solid pitching!
Ohtani is alright too
@@andrewhofstetter7694 ohtani is better than alright. Ohtani is probably set up to be the MVP this season. His stats are insane as a hitter pitcher.
@@unknown_individual7050 well to be fair I was being sarcastic in the sense that he obviously is great. And also my comment was made around March which was before he was on pace for like 60 homers and having a monster pitching performance so even if im not being sarcastic then who else knew how good he'd be
Pitching?? What's that?? 😅 Angels need a new owner than pitching.
He’s good
Nah Colon is better
A lot of people knew Trout was something special when he began his career. I just hope Angel's fans truly understand the privilege they have to watch him play everyday. Wouldn't it have been great if Trout played in a time and on the same team as Tim Salmon and Mike Carp? Maybe with Catfish Hunter on the bump lol.
Its criminal that the Angels cant get this guy on the national stage. Trout in the playoffs would be awesome. We have seen it ONCE, SIX YEARS AGO. FOR 3 GAMES
The saddest part of his baseball reference page is the complete disappearance of the Stolen Base, if it was any era but this one he'd be putting up 40-40 season with ease.
Interesting theory considering he’s only reached the 40 HR’s twice and 40 SB’s once in his entire career.
@@timmyharris25 and he clearly still has speed, he's just not attempting stolen bases because the entire league has adopted a very conservative base running strategy

Moneyball has made it unfashionable to steal bases
You used Pierre Bourne's growing pains song in this video???? That blew me away lol dope video man I'm actually going to see Mike trout play for the first time this week at the Mariners game
He's basically Mickey Mantle with a little less power, but fewer injuries.
Seeing Trout and Mookie Betts playing today is basically like seeing Mickey Mantle and Willie Mays playing, it's awesome :)
mike trout has way more power
Is trout comparable to mantle ? Yes . Is Betts comparable to mays ? No .
@@quakaquakaimabird4870 you clearly are lacking in knowledge in who TF Mickey Mantle was and what kind of power he possessed. As much as I love Trout, I doubt he ever comes CLOSE to matching Mantles 1956 or 1961 seasons in terms of raw power.
The closest I've seen to a Mantle hitting comparable was Josh Hamilton. But due to his severely late starting and shortened career due to substance abuse and injuries, we never saw what Josh was truly capable of.
@@Riley-u8m I agree. No knock on Betts, he's terrific player, but Mays is in most people's TOP 5 ALL-TIME position players. Betts has a LONG LONG LONG way to go to even be in the conversation 😂

Me and my son have been so fortunate to see Mike Trout’s career at Angels Stadium and now with Ohtani and Rendon the Angels are ready for a postseason run. Gotta go the games about to start.
“Decent company” no big deal the people in his company arent hof

That's not hard, his team is god awful.
Ya and the show attributes do him absolutely NO JUSTICE! great video!
I wish him and shohei could just drag the angels to the World Series
Next year every team is playing each other. So it's great that a lot of people will see Mike Trout play which is a treat to everyone
Mike Trout is first ballot HOF right now
That Growing Pains Instrumental in the vid was hard. It was unexpected and I fw it
I've been saying it for years. Barring any truly unfortunate turn if events (injury, personal tragedy, etc) Mike Trout will almost certainly go down as the best player of all time. And WE get to watch him. Thats insane.
As an Angels fan, can confirm. Mike Trout is good at baseball
I grew up ⚾⚾⚾.i knew in The first moment s of his career. He will be on TOP of the best list.---- no DOUBT about it.# 1 all time.
The moment Mike Trout blew my mind can be exactly pinpointed to the slide you show but not in full, at 5:03. Old timers spoke in hushed tones of how Joe DiMaggio used to run the bases and I wen't "pffft...". Now I understand what they meant and felt.
He's humble works hard at his craft Angel's need do what it takes to get a great pitching staff pitching wins games too great players like Albert and mike can't get them too a WS without great pitching good luck Angels in 2021 season
He is the best, on and off the field!
I think one thing you should have included is that he's already 81st in all time bWAR.
By the time he's done he will undoubtedly be the best to ever pick a ball up
That would still be reserved for the Babe. He was just stupidly ridiculous. Trout will definately be Top 5 all time tho.
@@luisenriqueperezperez3193 statistically babe is already beat out by a plenty of other people. Only reason he's in the convo is because he was one of the first to truly be dominate in the sport. You also need to look at the talent of his time he was quite literally facing people off the street.
Saying he’s better than Ken Griffey jr. Is blasphemy I will not stand for it lol.

It’s a shame all these injuries have put him just where he is in baseball lore. He’s almost like the one that got away, we were so close to seeing full potential.
I work at that topgolf! That was an insane night
Im glad you mentioned it, because now I got a feeling there's a Houston Astros/Jimmy Neutron baseball bat meme getting thought up.

It feels wrong that the only time he made it to the playoffs, his team was swept by the freaking Royals.
The royals were godly then tbf
@@joshconnell8797 True, but living through the 2004-2012 Royals, it still feels wrong.
To this day the best field trip I’ve ever been on was going to watch Mike Trout play for the Travelers when I was in like 5th grade
I stopped looking at Mike Trout’s baseball reference page to watch this video
Absolutely insane. I actually had thought he might even be higher up on those rankings than shown.
Keep in mind Trout is being compared almost exclusively to Steroid Freaks and players who faced steady 90mph (or slower) fastballs nearly 100 years ago. If not for spitballs, the old-timers like Ruth and Foxx would have hit 1000 HRs, and without steroids, players like Manny, McGwire, and Sosa would be in the same class of hitter as Dave Kingman.
Solid utility guy, could be an everyday starter in the right team.
my biggest fear is he’ll slow down. baseball and american needs this man. I NEED THIS MAN
Slow down, he would of did that years ago.
He has to have at least some postseason success to be considered among the greatest of all time
its not his fault that baseball is a team sport.
@@wingnutistaken8917 Yeah sucks for Trout, but he will never be considered the greatest of all time if he doesn't win a world series. He will be more in the Ted Williams and Ken Griffey Jr tier than the Babe Ruth, Willie Mays tier.

Short answer: hes good
Long answer: hes really fukcing good
10 years of trout being great angels ... 10 years of waisting his career
Given his weight, "waisting" is appropriate way to put it.
2021 is another great year for Mike. Today, May 19, he is first in MLB in OBP, OPS and OPS+ (200). His WAR is 2.1 in 36 games, which would be almost 9 in a full season. He’s like Mickey Mantle without Mickey’s leg injuries.
When it is all said and done mike trout will be the greatest of all time because of his pure power, great speed, and great fielding. P.S MIKE TROUT IS ALREADY BETTER THAN BABE RUTH
Ruth took baseball from a niche sport to a national pastime. NY built a new stadium specifically off the back of Ruth's popularity. Not to mention, he won numerous World Series.
Trout is great, don't get me wrong, but he isn't transcending the sport and carrying it to new heights....yet.

@@-BigMike- Babe was usually drunk at the time too... 🤣🤣🤣
@@christianjones8266 You can knock his competition all you want, but nobody else was even close to doing what he was doing. He was so far above of all of his contemporaries that it's unbelievable, almost mythological. Babe Ruth his 54 home runs in 1920, which was more than all but 1 other team and accounted for 8.57% of all home runs hit that year. In order to do that today, you'd have to hit 581 home runs. People like you make me look like a Trout hater, even though I am far from that. I recognize that he is a legend, but this GOAT talk has to stop, at least until he reaches the end of his career.

Foolish Baseball put it best when he said "what if Mickey Mantle had 2 good knees"
10 seasons not one of them had 200+ hits, ichiro did it for 10 straight years. If we going to call you the best ever can you have just one?
No offense but I think you are behind the times a bit on value rating. Mike trouts overall numbers surpass ichiro. WAR, ops, ops+. Hits by themselves aren’t actual value if you keep them isolated.
I love Ichiro as much as the next guy, but he had nowhere near the same value to the Mariners as Trout does to the Angels
Justin Marquez that’s why the angles are in the post season every year right
Justin Marquez not in the mood to argue but I’ll leave it at this. When you go down the list of 5 tools and say who was better, trout only has power over ichiro, ichiro was better with the bat, glove, on the bases and with his arm. Trout is no bum at those tools but if ichiro was American he would be appreciated more
@@dominicgarcia34 bro ichiro isnt even a top 50 player of all time. Dude was a great fielder but could only hit singles. Trout has better runs numbers, rbi, slg, obp, hrs, 2bs, etc etc.
Given how great of an all around player he is and how incredible the competition he goes up against is, he's on pace to be the greatest to ever do it imo.
It going to be a shame if he ever gets outed for anything. What I’ve learned recently is that EVERYBODY is hiding something.
I really hope he gets a ring someday
Imagine being called the greatest player of your generation and never making the post season.
He made the postseason in 2014, and proceeded to shit the bed against the Royals. The Royals beat them so bad, that they started playing the main theme from Angels in the Outfield to troll them.
idk this guys pretty good at baseball. hope he makes it big one day.
Trout is not better than Mantle at the same point in their careers. They have very similar stats but one has 5 world series wins and the other has 0 playoff wins at the age of 28.
Yes but as said before, baseball is a team sport. That means that Trout shouldn’t be judged based on how the Angels as a team did. World Series rings shouldn’t mean that one player is better than another. If that’s the case then Miguel Montero is better than Trout cause he won WS in 2016 with cubs. Might I also point out that the Angels in 2020 has one of the highest Average Runs per game? Their pitching is what sinks them and mike trout cannot control that.
@@________1227No. I am not saying anyone who has won a World Series is better than Mike Trout lol. But when you compare Trout to the all time greats, postseason success matters. You can't be considered the greatest player of all time without playing a single meaningful game. We may be talking about different things, I am talking about legacy and you are talking about talent.
@@________1227 Every major sport is a team sport. Look at the greatest of all time from each sport, they all have multiple championships. Michael Jordan, Wayne Gretzky, Tom Brady, Babe Ruth. I am saying Trout will never be among those athletes, if he can't win championships. He could have the highest WAR, JAWS, OPS+, etc. of all time, it won't matter.
@@CoshReport mike trout will go down as one of the greatest players in baseball and postseason wins don’t even matter.
this is such a godly awful take that I couldn't resist replying even after months. mickey mantle during his career played with five active hall of famers at some point in time and was managed by hall of fame skipper casey stengel. the best player the angels have had along with trout is either a washed up albert pujols or maybe conceivably andrelton simmons. it's absurd to say that world series wins have any weight on this discussion whatsoever, because doing that is discounting the monumental talent that mantle was surrounded by during his career.
Good dude. Hope he wins a playoff game someday...
If trout keeps playing like this and doesn’t fall off like Pujiols and doesn’t get 100% hof votes that’ll be some bullshit
I will acknowledge this: Birthday Mike Trout is the greatest specimen to breathe on Planet Earth.
Mike Trout has the same problem as Barry Sanders. He will never be fully appreciated because he plays on a joke of a team; and since he signed a monster contract with them, he will never have a ring. I know that isn't an indicator of greatness, but it is something to take note of.
It's such a shame, too. Even Tony Gwynn managed to reach the postseason twice with the Padres, both of which resulted in World Series appearances.
If it's not an indicator of greatness, then why should I take note of it?
Thank you for making this video. Straight forward, all stats, no hoopla. No doubt Trout is the best my generation will ever see. (I feel very lucky that he’s just a 20 min drive away if I want to see him play at any given home game).
He could be the greatest player but sadly he will never be the greatest star in mlb
He is the greatest star .right now
So basically Mike Trout gives you the production of 2 players for 1/2 the outs...
He's so likeable because he's presence never poses a threat. Imagine him on the Yankees or Dodgers.
“He’s not even close to being done yet.” You jinxed it.
3:23 I've never seen a batter/pitcher graphic wish someone happy birthday. That's neat.
Tbh I really wanted to see how Josh Hamilton’s career would’ve played out without all the problems he had
Funniest thing is his first major league at bat was a hit into double play haha Mike's so good he probably laughs at that now 🤣
3:25 Didn’t know ‘Happy Birthday’ was a stat line
