This song holds a special place in my heart. I read some analyses and figured out that one of the messages of Ishmael's chapter was that there's no one thing that defines the meaning of your life, whether it be fitting a mold or something imposed by other people. That was a message I *really* needed to hear then, and it helped me feel better from a long period of yelling at myself.
theres alot of good messages in this canto to be honest. most noticable for me was that being blindly obsessed with only one thing/desire in your life is very likely to lead you to even more despair, even if its seems right on the surface. but in the end, the best thing is that everyone are free to interpretate the message of this canto as the wish.

There are many things that makes Mili great but i'm going to say 3 i think. 1) The instrumental compositions are just mind blowing. 2) The vocalist(s) are the epitome of being on point with such a great range (pitch) in each and every single one of their song that has been done until now. And this last one is just my opinion. 3) The lyrics in every single song have been sang in a way that makes me feel the vocalist is just reading a story from far away, like an all seeing eye just watching, like an omnisient being enjoing all of what it can see and expresing it in a manner that reaches deep into my heart, and echoes in my mind for eons to come. I just finished canto 5 the other day and by God that finale was actually just peak game storytelling. Through all the horrors the city and pmoon throw at us, we often forget just how horrendous life in this universe truly is for the individual on a personal level. They expertly desensitised us to horrendous shit and then really hit us with some genuine personal horrors to a character we were finally able to connect with.
i kid yall not i cried so much during the canto V dungeon like my face was red i had snot all over i couldnt breathe i was hyperventilating i would cry myself to sleep listening to the pequod OST my voice was raspy i was sending voice notes to friends it was INSANE it took me weeks to recover 😭 and then i wrote a 4k word essay on the symbolism of canto V
Canto V is being my favorite chapter so far and Compass was the cherry on the top for me. This song is just so different to every Mili song yet so beautiful and intriguing as always. It's hard for me to express in words the feelings this song conveys from start to finish, Canto V and this song are a real rollercoaster of emotions for me. @@bullet3417 see now I joined the party late and kept underestimating the power of using shards to exchange for good cards which means I kept getting stuck at Spicebush Dongbaek, Ricardo, the Terrible Trio of Canto V, and the final boss fight of Canto VI purely because i did not have the right IDs to go up against them and it became just a constant cycle of chucking different combinations at the boss until they died LOL now that I have some better IDs i'm getting the hang of it!! i simply did not have the clashing power/status ailments necessary to progress for a time

I just finished canto 5 the other day and by God that finale was actually just peak game storytelling. Through all the horrors the city and pmoon throw at us, we often forget just how horrendous life in this universe truly is for the individual on a personal level. They expertly desensitised us to horrendous shit and then really hit us with some genuine personal horrors to a character we were finally able to connect with.
It's insane that i woke up just in time in the middle of the night for this premier for a channel i haven't listened to in probably years.

@@bullet3417 see now I joined the party late and kept underestimating the power of using shards to exchange for good cards which means I kept getting stuck at Spicebush Dongbaek, Ricardo, the Terrible Trio of Canto V, and the final boss fight of Canto VI purely because i did not have the right IDs to go up against them and it became just a constant cycle of chucking different combinations at the boss until they died LOL
now that I have some better IDs i'm getting the hang of it!! i simply did not have the clashing power/status ailments necessary to progress for a time
