    It’s so nice to hear someone who actually pays attention to the nuances of what is happening during the plays. Sometimes I’ll try to watch espn but then I’ll feel my brain rotting

    Lamar and Burrow’s efficiency is just insane, I’d like to see how their numbers this season compare to 2011 Rodgers or 2004 Manning.

    It should be “whom” in the title - “analytics” is the subject of the sentence, the object is whomever analytics says should win.
    But if no one follows the rule, then because of how language works, within our lifetimes we’ll see “who” become correct at some point ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    I'd say Goff can not be viewed by statistics and metrics alone as its likely that this kind of offense can't be played by everyone. You have to be perfect with it. Line adjustments, call adjustments and everything happening before the snap is basically done by Goff. Can you precisely put that into stats?
    Propably not.
    Ben Johnson is doing OC masterclass but Goff makes it possible. That cant be valued by metrics.

    Jared Goff MVP. Most valuable player on the best team. Without goff that offense is nowhere near the same. Don't care how good the running game is. Haters tend to give all the credit in the world to the offensive coordinator instead of the player. Do the same thing to every other QB then.

      I doubt that because the second the Texans got consistent pressure, he played awful.
      Obviously, you can't calculate all the value he brings other wise, but if subpar O-line play leads to your demise, probably not the best MVP candidate.

    Excellent breakdowns by category rankings. Thanks for the segment! A couple of things pop into my mind seeing this and other rankings along statistical lines. I am not a fan of make believe stats like turnover-worthy-plays or expected results which are purely subjective. They are talking points, much like the eye-tests for HOF candidates as opposed to real hard numbers of what the players did over their careers. The PFF rankings are simply ludicrous for both Goff and Hurts this season. PFF just doesn't do it for me any more. The company just does not have the same value as it did a few years back. It is driven by bias way more than it should be. What is the point of the games? To win. What is the point of make believe stats? To drive gambling and discussions. I am a bit surprised Sam Darnold has not been considered here. Most people thought the Vikings would be last in the NFC North this season. Darnold is a big reason for the team being one of the top 3 teams in the NFC Conference. Also, Goff and Hurts QB the top 2 teams of the NFC and most would grudgingly admit Goff leads the best offense again in the NFL. Those things count a lot more for me than subjective fantasy measures. Thanks again.

    I feel like there’s too much value put on turnovers in all these stats, an interception deep down the field trying to make a play does not matter that much, if you’re going for it on 3rd and long you’re just sacrificing a 4th down play that was going to be a punt anyways for a interception that puts the other team at their own 30 anyways. They’re essentially the same outcome but with the potential for a long touchdown. The big plays we used to see don’t happen as often not because of the defense but because advanced stats always want as low of an INT rate punishing QBs going for big plays that could easily go wrong to go extinct. Plus turnovers are more exciting than a punt so I personally would want to see a change.

    Burrow is just stat padding as his team is behind and he is situationally making bad decisions initially to get behind and then throwing a lot to catch up.

    • @diamondrg3556
      @diamondrg3556 19 минут назад

      Other than the Chargers game, when did they get behind bad? What situational bad decisions has he made? (Only one I can think of is INT in first Ravens game, but that was the defender being desperate and jumping a route.)
      The Bengals defense has probably been the worst in the league. There isn't much Burrow can do about having to score massive points to keep us in games.

    Let not pretend Burrow has not contributed to the losses....Vs the Chiefs up 6 4th quarter and the ball..Strip sack fumble for TD. also late on in the 4th they stall out inside the KC 5 and had to kick a FG ..Vs the Ravens 1st game...He has the ball on the ravens 31 yard line with 3 minutes to go and throws and INT up 3.....Vs Ravens 2nd game...twice he had the ball in ravens territory inside the 40 late 3rd and 4th and he is throwing bombs on 3rd and 2 and 4the and 2 and missing badly..Takes a sack out of FG range....That game was there to be taken..Not sure why they were throwing deep shots on short yardage..Vs the Chargers..6 points in the 1st half?
