I really hope they're both okay, specially the man playing the violin. He didn't want the accident to happen, he was just enjoying his time and doing what he loves, his violin broke and he seemed really passionate about it while playing. And the girl looked hurt as well
I’m about to cry because old people doing things to earn a bit of something (anything: money, respect, love) always make me really really sad like, I just want to give them a big hug and let them know that they are very loved and not alone and then give them the money/necessities they need (not that I have them). And the fact that it’s a violin, a whole instrument, which costs a lot of money, makes it even worse. He was dancing around and jumping (way more agile than the average elderly, and goodness think about how it might be hurting him) and putting all this genuine effort in to get some extra dosh, only to lose his violin completely 😭 what if he can’t afford a new one?? What if that was one of his possessions for years, something he’s been passionate about for a great portion of his life, only for it to be stripped away from him by a reckless woman… gosh I’m about to cry. Please, please I’m praying that things turned out well for him. I’m sorry for the misfortune in the world. AND AFTER THAT HE WENT STRAIGHT TO CHECK IF THE WOMAN WAS OK IM CRYING NOW 😭
How he picked it up at the end just broke me like he stuttered when he picked it up he dropped it, like at this moment why did that lady decide it was a good idea to run behind a street player with a lot of amazing actions and broke this dudes violin 🎻 I feel so bad for this guy but he is a good person asking the lady if she was ok even though it was her fault
Omg, I'm actually crying, if I can I would go find him and but him 5 new violins, what if he's a homeless street performer or barely surviving as a pensioner
Don't cry Xinnie, he isn't homeless, isn't unkempt, has new clothes, new shoes and backpack. He is British and as a pensioner will therefore have ample income in addition to his excellent street performance income. His musical instrument insurance policy (which is relatively cheap) will pay for repair of the violin or replace it if repair not viable. Each violin is very personal to its owner and sounds or plays differently, I hope therefore that a full repair (rather than replacement) is possible. He should have had the repaired violin (or replacement) within 2 or 3 weeks.
That violin is destroyed. Maybe, if it was a priceless antique, an expert could repair it for big bucks, but, in most cases, the repair would cost more than the instrument was worth. And there’s the dilemma there: the guy was a street musician, who likely needed his violin to continue earning an income. He almost certainly lacks the money to buy another violin, and won’t be able to afford one in the future because he can no longer make money from performing.
It’s 12/19/21 1:46 am when I saw this video on Tiktok. It made me depressed. Tried searching info about the man but can’t find anything. Didn’t know it was from 2018. Just hoping everything is going well for him.
I hate when people say “it’s a public street, he’s at wrong cuz she had right of way” like Wdym it’s not about who has right of way, it’s just common fuckin sense, he’s a moving street performer so don’t run behind him if you’ve seen him do twirls like that before. Lady’s a mong
I'm not unique in how my heart broke for this man at the end, but I felt especially pained, knowing what it's like to be a musician. I don't think I'm alone in having a deep love and attachment to my instruments. For example, the first instrument I ever learned was the saxophone, and I have a special place in my heart for it. I know every nook and cranny of it, every spot that can collect dust, and there's a story behind every little scratch that has formed over the 15 years I've had it. I have even given it a name-like I have with all of my instruments. I bond with my instruments. They have offered me an escape from my problems, offered me a way to celebrate my joy and successes, and they have seen me through so many massive life changes; they are an extension of who I am when I play. I cannot imagine what it would be like for any of my instruments to be destroyed because I-like many other musicians-formed that bond with them. My heart hurt for this man. It felt like watching someone lose a little piece of themselves. I wish him all the best and hope that he never stops doing what it is that makes him happy. Street performers move me in a way that traditional concerts never do, and his energy was infectious.
That was the girl's fault, running behind like that was a stupid thing to do, and the old man lost his source of income because of her yet immediately asked if she was ok. Wish there were some way to help him :/
@Kevin L which is nothing bad. He deserves all the attention. That girl could've chosen to go around but she decided to speedrun behind someone who is *playing* *and* f ing *dancing* !
Idk about the girl! The old man even asked if she was ok, but who would be so stupid to walk behind! Even if you are in a rush, doesn’t mean you can just hurt people like that❤
For everyone saying he’s taking up two much space or blocking the sidewalk he isn’t actually it’s hard to see in this video but I think that the road is actually very small with wider side walks. The brick area does have vehicles parked on it but the brick is the same height as the side walk which generally indicates that the area is mostly for pedestrian use but cars can share the space. Also people seem to have no problem walking across the street or behind the camera man and the lack of traffic noise seems to indicate that it’s mostly an area where people walk rather than drive. So really he chose a place where he knew enough people would be around for him to make money while there still being room for him and everyone to be on the sidewalk or safely walk on the street. The woman made a bad choice to run through a narrow area and really with all the shop doors and people moving in and out of them she would of hit someone eventually.
Anyone please give me an update about the man. I find it very frustrating and this video haunts me. Is he got the violin replaced? Did anyone know him? If there's any gofundme page, I would like to donate 😭😭
Ohmygod this really REALLY hurts. Yeah you can say it was his fault too but this was definitely more of the girl's fault for running so closely behind a performer. Like I think 70-80% her fault. Common sense would tell you the space is too narrow. Even if she was in a hurry, it would only take a few more seconds to go around. Clearly, she was the one who took the risk here. Grandpa didn't see her but SHE SAW HIM. And still chose to squeeze behind him. What was she thinking?! Obviously she wasn't thinking.. So if we were to find the root cause I'd say it's definitely the girl's carelessness. If the grandpa was being a nuisance then report him, don't act stupid... That violin could've been his only source of income and now I want to cry
Does anyone know the tweet that mentioned about his recent update? i would be so happy to see him playing violin again on London streets but i can't believe it unless i could see the tweet myself... I feel so bad for him since i also play the flute for almost 10 years and my flute is so priceless to me.. Other flutes cannot replace mine and I think most of the people who possess musical instruments would agree 😢 I hope him to be happy again with his dear violin and if i could i want to raise a fund (though this video was posted 4 years ago) and hope him to be safe from the virus🥺 Love from Korea! 🇰🇷

I feel so bad for this guy😭😭😭😭 he is giving so hard and his playing is super awesome and unique! Having his violin break would be such a hard blow as he clearly loves it. I know that technically no one is to blame here but that lady shouldn't have been walking right behind a performer that was clearly dancing enthusiastically. The video doesn't show much after the incident but that lady was looking at him like a piece of garbage. I really hope this guy can get another instrument.
it makes me mad that the lady decided to go behind him, like wtf, at least it shows a little decency? like you wouldnt watch a concert and get up on stage to leave lol.
Ça me rend tellement triste… il a perdu son instrument, qui avait certainement une très grande valeur sentimentale à ses yeux, tout ça à cause d’une idiote qui est passée derrière lui en courant. 😢
I think the title of the video should be "Lady runs face first into dancing violinist's instrument and breaks it." Feel sorry for both of them, but more sorry for the violinist. Hope he's busking away joyfully!
I'm here from twosetviolin too and now that I've watched the video, from what I can see at the end, I'd say this lady has no excuse. There's no crowd for her to avoid, even if she was rushing, passing right in front of the man would not only have avoided this painful incident, it would have been more polite for the old man. And even if there *was* a crowd, is it that hard to circle it? Would it take more than a few seconds? I feel really bad for that man, I hope he'll get a new violin, and if I had a debit or credit card (I'm 15 still), I'd definitely help getting him a new violin.
@Kevin L stfu. u don't understand how important that was to him, it's also quite expensive, just cuz no one cared about u doesn't mean u have to blame him. I really hope they're both okay, specially the man playing the violin. He didn't want the accident to happen, he was just enjoying his time and doing what he loves, his violin broke and he seemed really passionate about it while playing. And the girl looked hurt as well
She deserved it
I’m about to cry because old people doing things to earn a bit of something (anything: money, respect, love) always make me really really sad like, I just want to give them a big hug and let them know that they are very loved and not alone and then give them the money/necessities they need (not that I have them).
AND AFTER THAT HE WENT STRAIGHT TO CHECK IF THE WOMAN WAS OK IM CRYING NOW 😭
Is he okay? Does he have a new violin/is he financially stable?

How he picked it up at the end just broke me like he stuttered when he picked it up he dropped it, like at this moment why did that lady decide it was a good idea to run behind a street player with a lot of amazing actions and broke this dudes violin 🎻 I feel so bad for this guy but he is a good person asking the lady if she was ok even though it was her fault
Exactly

Get that man some Ling Ling Insurance

No One Injured, haha .................... but the Violon is injured .. is broke ...,so something is injured :)
Yes, you are the feelingest of them all.
Please someone must know this man and can set up a fundraiser. This is truly heartbreaking. An instrument is like a best friend to a musician.
bro, i legit felt depressed when his violin broke.
I hope he’s k and got a new one
Anyone knows the name of the violinist? I really want to help him...
Oh.. no.. the girl running from behind him. Hope she OK. The gentlemen performed great with positive energy.
Anyone please give me an update about the man. I find it very frustrating and this video haunts me. Is he got the violin replaced? Did anyone know him? If there's any gofundme page, I would like to donate 😭😭

How is there no update on this. I want to buy this man a violin.
Number one rule about seeing a person playing on the street. Don’t walk behind them!!
He was so happy while performing, when he went to pick up the violin... Wow, my heart hurts.
Other flutes cannot replace mine and I think most of the people who possess musical instruments would agree 😢 I hope him to be happy again with his dear violin and if i could i want to raise a fund (though this video was posted 4 years ago) and hope him to be safe from the virus🥺
Love from Korea! 🇰🇷
I'm so sad that nobody has an update on this man...
No one from London has tried to reach the man? We could all send some money to get him a new violin so he can keep performing...
The end is so sad, but ignoring the end, I loved watching him play. Made me happy to watch and listen.

I've never seen a senior dance with so much fervor.
I know it’s a public space, but why she had to go behind him while he was performing? Why people turns to be so stupid?
I don't know if I should be more in awe of his skills, or the fact she broke a violin with her nose
He looks so happy at the beginning but then sad at the end because the dumb lady thought she was sonic and broke his violin😭😭

Woow that guy have a really good And kind heart.
I think she was trying not to obstruct the view of the audience of people watching him.
I feel like she's just dumb
I feel bad for him😭💔 Does anyone know about his update?
I sense a dentist appointment
skkane more like a surgery for the violin
He changed the instrument on the fly, now playing maracas with a violin with the girls teeth inside it

i don't suppose anyone knows the man or more videos of his that i could find?
Nooooooooooooooo keep recording! This is awesome though. Poor guy, i hope the violin wasn't one of a kind...
Ça me rend tellement triste… il a perdu son instrument, qui avait certainement une très grande valeur sentimentale à ses yeux, tout ça à cause d’une idiote qui est passée derrière lui en courant. 😢
Ouais j’ai eu mal au cœur
Even though many people are saying that it’s a crappy $30 violin, I think it had some sentimental value too..
Does anyone have an update on whether grandpa was able to buy a new violin? This is blowing up in tiktok

For some reason this makes me cry, ugly cry. Does anyone know this man? Can we make a GoFundMe for him?
He is serving a life sentence in prison now for this assault.
I think the title of the video should be "Lady runs face first into dancing violinist's instrument and breaks it." Feel sorry for both of them, but more sorry for the violinist. Hope he's busking away joyfully!
I just can't understand why do she need to run behind him? No one around him walked behind him but why did she took the path and even running?!
Gonna comment here in hopes of getting an update
I hope that girl knows how big of a deal it is
I'm here from twosetviolin too and now that I've watched the video, from what I can see at the end, I'd say this lady has no excuse.
Jeez there's some people on the internet that really doesn't have a heart do they. It's like driving a car and someone runs in front of the car and gets hit and then telling them " what's it like valuing metal over people?"
Sad things aside, his dancing and music was awesome
Can you (setttime2588) please tell me where this is so I could find that poor guy and start a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for a new violin?
Did anyone find the guy???? Someone please find him.... He doesn't deserve such a thing to happen........ I hope someone finds him :(

There is no reason to run behind when there is plenty of space in front. Hope the old man got his violin fixed or least get a new one for free.
