Great as always Martin. It is so refreshing to have developers that keep the users in the loop. You are my go-to for all my Inkscape news. Thank you & #StayCreative 😁
Hi Martin, thank you and the team for developing Inkscape. I only have one request for the team, please update the Bucket Fill tool to use vectors instead of pixels. This is the only thing that keeps me from using Inkscape and still using Adobe Illustrator.
I would love to see feature which allows me to edit mask (group of objects) when it is applied to gorup of objects. Because now when I want to adjust mask or add another object I have to release mask - edit group and set it again. Real time mask editing would be wonderful. Well I fod a way how I can achieve it but it requires to make clone of the mask, then set it as an mas. then I have to group once again original mask group. Set it's opacity to 1% - and now I have real time mask editing preview. But I would love to dedicated, more comfortable and smart tool for it. There is a chance for this feature in future ? or maybe inkscape aldready has that functionality and I didn't know about it.
Great work Martin can you add a feature that allows us to click and drag while holding on a key like sift, control or alt to duplicate object instead of the control+d
@@doctormo I do not know how its programed, but i see it like it is made dimenssioning in AutoCAD where we have global and local axis systems and we can simply rotate it regardless drawing. Oh BTW it os possible in inkscape to rotate canvas without rotatind selection box (You know that dashed rectangles visable when object is selected) - I if not it also could be done like i said (global and local axis system)
That rotation is easy, it's just about displaying it to the screen. The other is more difficult as I think it needs an extra filter on top of the blur filter.
Hi Martin, since CMYK will be available at some point, is it too much to fix another related problem? A noticed (when looking online for the solution), that lot of inkscape users don't know how to export a PDF with print marks on it (bleed marks, registration marks, colour bars, etc), because you cannot export a "page" with those elements, you need to select "document". How feasible is it, to make this available when exporting a "page"..? This is a bit of a problem, because when you export a "document", it's a lot of extra work to contain the elements on the canvas into what you actually need to keep on the exported file. ... Would be great if someone could look into that.
I was really with you until the end and you said "someone", ugh, it hurts man. I'm a person, not a company, there's not someones, there's you, there's me and that's pretty much it. Obviously my sponsors are going to want print marks to not suck, so expect some focus on that at some point. Though if they tell me to not work on it, it'll not get done. Such is the way of contracting for the public.
@doctormo Someone, refers.to.a.person man. I was under.the.impression that more than one developer is working on Inkscape development, so. ... a member of the team.... a guy... a developer..... a human.... anyone involved that would be so kind! (Pleaaaaaaase).
Ah not quite. The team doesn't work on things requested by the public. They work on... er, lots of things. Some things for themselves, some thing they think are good ideas. You can see this in open source a lot where good ideas (like yours) don't make it into the open source because no one is willing to invest in it properly and the volunteers are focused on their own things.

Super! Great work! Inkscape is getting better and better with Owens!
I would love more of those insider reports like this from the open source world. ty!
Hello Martin 👋. Keep going!!!
¡Gracias Martin! Excelente trabajo. Estoy contando los minutos para un Inkscape con soporte cmyk.
doing great martin, much appreciated fren

Thank u martin
Nice
Foi um prazer ser o primeiro a dar meu like. Sou de São José dos Campos SP Brasil
Tamo junto mano, eu sou do Maranhão e curto muito o Inkscape.
A lot of work for one person.
Waiting for GTK4 port improvements! Hopefully we'll get there soon.
Have you tried the 1.5 development branch?
@doctormo I tried it early, but didn't test it in a while. Just getting the news from the channel for now.

It's not on my sponsor's wish list currently, so I can't say if I'll get to work on it. But it makes sense.
@@doctormo Thank You for answer. Thake care and stay in good health.

Press the space bar to stamp. So just mouse down, press space and move the original somewhere else.
sideburns are gone 😱
Another function with I would like to see is ability to rotate blur directions without rotating object.
That's not directly possible; which means it's difficult, annoying and probably creepy. 😜
