We can all be happy that the creators of Inkscape are working and improving this program to make it better and better! Cool features were added in 1.4, so I'll check what's going on now because I've already downloaded the new version :) Thanks for showing what's new :)
I noticed at the 7:03 mark a slide bar briefly showed up when you hovered over the checkbox indicating to toggle it off. Great videos as always. Thank you!
Yeah, someone may have mentioned it, but if you use the unified font browser, you can fix the browsing font clipping, in the preferences for that, the wheel, you can turn of show font name, and that will fix it, most likely you can read most of the fonts anyway by it´s showcased name. Or increase preview size..as mentioned in some posts here.
And what is better now is to actually see the text change in the artwork when you browse select from the browser, with list font and styles, you could Not do that, you had to use the selected font tools in such case.
Oh you found a bug in the shape builder clipping feature? Do tell! Ah and the text scaling factor which is a preference, someone asked about it in the chatroom this evening. Fixable, but kinda silly.
I have a few bugs for you guys - will report this week when I get a moment (perhaps tomorrow). A dev told me they were aware of the font dialog thing - I have to re-read what they said exactly. PS - re-watch when I opened the document properties dialog. There’s some video editing there on my part, but that issue persists when multiple compositions are open in Inkscape.
05:20 When you select Unified font browser (experimental) in preferences you just have to click the little power button icon to the right of it for it to be enabled immediately then there's no need to restart Inkscape.
I really wish Inkscape to have a built-in tool for creating 3D text effects easily and intuitive like Adobe Illustrator. Instead of using LPE Clone which is memory hungry and difficult to achieve what we want. I always begging for this feature because I mostly use Inkscape to create Posters and Infographics design, and I love 3D text effects. Now, I know Inkscape is not the right program in creating Posters but I just really love how Inkscape behave, it's so easy to edit text and align objects in Inkscape. If GIMP behave like Inkscape does, I would've use GIMP instead for creating Posters. It's really painful to edit text and align objects in GIMP, there's no guide, there's no snapping feature, there's no multiple layers selection, there's no shape tool, I can't even create a button in a poster in GIMP that still can be modified later if anything wrong, but GIMP just doesn't let that, it's always destructive!

Inkscape just keeps getting better and better. Kudos to the developers! 🎉🎉🎉
There is a lot to explore with this update. Thanks for filling us in on that.
Indeed there is - my pleasure!
Wow, bravo Inkscape team. Not trying to throw any shades, but It seems like they are the complete opposite of the Gimp team.
Well, to be fair, it's not that hard to beat GIMP. It's like competing in a triathlon with an opponent who's in a wheelchair with square tires.

@@DaviesMediaDesign Were you able to report those bugs?
Very Nice! Thumbs up

You can adjust the unified font scale factor to about 220, and they all fit nice.
Nice! Thanks for the video.
Thanks for watching!
Font browser on my mac is flawless... kudos
Not surprised - they have a lot more developer help on Mac/Linux
cheers man!
I would like to know about the video capability in Inkscape.
The app keeps crashing with the filter gallery lol, I'm on linux though and installed the PPA package
sad that they didn't add object rotation to this object properties dialog, would be very helpful.
That's available in the transformation dialog.
@@doctormo Oh, that's perfect!
👍

Well Gimp, really needs Jesus, they are really taking a long time😩😩
