A college degree with a solid GPA (at least 3.0). Think most CIA recruits have degrees in Political Science, Economics, Law, International Relations and the like. Proficiency in a foreign language(s) is highly desired, overseas travel also helps. Be able to pass a lie detector test, have no criminal record (or at least nothing serious, I don't think they care if you've been ticketed). Some get into the CIA right out of school, but experience of some kind can be helpful.

3.0???LOL!!! I was a 4.2, double major from Columbia with half a dozen consistent extracurricular activities and was still heavily scrutinized.
Eureka SevenWAVE, I said in my comment, majors like political science, economics, international relations and stuff of that nature. Basically they want people who know what's happening in the world.

I worked for Dept of State for years. My only lie was that I was NOT in it for life - and I knew that beforehand. I genuinely hated most people I worked with and jumped at the chance for a huge private sector salary. Check. Outta here. Thanks for the (not-so-great) memories.

Its suggested not to tell anyone when you apply but not a requirement. You're only not supposed to reveal classified information.
I had a friend of mine who retired from the NSA told me about having to deliver some equipment to a small group of CIA field agents one time at an overseas locations. He said that the CIA personnel were nothing but a bunch of nerds.🤣
I would imagine in 2021 to work for the CIA you have to fit into an agenda of government hiring practices more then your educational background and your ability.

Seems like most of the recruiting is done through University Campus, this probably gives them neat and clean Cadets without undesirable backgrounds.

Yeah..been 10+ years since I started. And I'm more impoverished than I was without them. I was 16. Best and worst decisions of my life. Glad I survived. Not so glad to be left behind...and having to explain to layman about a situation that could've been prevented years prior. I've had to work part time jobs at food industries, when mistakes happen with newly trained people, they still own up to it and fix them (with the exception of a few). So if someone can remake an order in 30 minutes, why can't an agency with unsurpassed capabilities back a person up, meet about situations, and own up to an issue? I'm not waiting on someone at the end of the hall to answer the question or give me an offer. It has been 10 years. I've endured more discrimination, doubt, and slander for pursuing a justice who's weight I've inherited on topics that occured way before I was ever born. I'm on my way out with the inclination that there's less and less that I can believe about what I once had faith in. It takes nearly dying 4 times and waiting 10 years only to discover human rights violations to do something like that. But that's exactly what happened. It's like they wanted me in because they wanted me out...I was just a boy scout back then. Do your homework and paperwork before you work with these guys or else you'll wind up in a whirlpool of chaos. Desert Rose - Sting ( I can hear that song bouncing around between the walls and white noise and minds of these people as an unofficial theme song, if you're dealing with people who don't know how to deal with trust, and you're expected to trust them, the risks are incalculabely greater).
