    Sarah’s quick summary of sheep raising is very good. One thing she and her family did which made their journey easier was to start with a landrace heritage breed. The Livestock Conservancy has a list of heritage breeds in the USA. They have survived the test of time and almost always require the least amount of artificial support from humans. Keep them in clean pasture with clean water and proper shelter and they will thrive.

    So I've had 2 books published with Xulon Press for years & they have an Author Center where their authors can see sales data & all that info'. I don't have any major social media presence nor do I spend any money on advertising so there's no one that even knows about my books other than who I tell or who may find it on my website. She didn't mention anything about all that but it's a big world of books & self-published books don't get seen unless you make them seen yourself by promoting & advertising regularly. So I guess I just don't know how many books she thinks she was selling or how she knows that, but you don't really make much on royalties and there's a $25 minimum before they'll send that out. Plus you have to keep your W9 tax form updated or they won't send it. Xulon is the cheapest self-publishing option & you get what you pay for. Their customer service has gone from bad to worse over the years but I don't know if they're stealing royalties. Maybe they are, I can't say for sure.

    • @TheLife_Podcast
      @TheLife_Podcast  2 месяца назад +1

      Thank you for giving some insight on that. It seemed like she couldn't monitor the metrics. Can you? Maybe at minimum you could see how many Amazon reviews your work is getting?

      The church I was in at the time publicized my book pretty heavily to where I had almost 200 books pre-ordered and then almost 500 sold the 1st month it was live (second month of sales). I had access to my metrics, but the numbers weren't adding up because people would share on social media they bought my book, other churches were doing Bible studies with my book, and in those months, no books were reported sold even though the buyers were sending me pictures of the books they bought. I spoke to my rep at Xulon multiple times about the discrepancies. They dismissed my inquiries, and I was repeatedly told there were no sales even when I had proof that there was. When I reported to BBB, I received an email from Xulon with a spreadsheet of my sales in which months they never paid me showed sales, and the first two months of sales that I had metrics on didn't show the same number of sales. When I asked that person at Xulon about those issues, they never responded after repeated calls and emails from me. I also did some digging and found multiple authors who used Xulon and had a similar experience of sales not being reported. Honestly, I look at the experience as 1. A test from the Father on obedience. 2. The catalyst for His purpose for me starting Debarim Publishing.

      Correct, GMO food has altered the DNA of the plant organism with unclean DNA. The idea of the scales, it's supposed to have scales covering the whole body in its adult stage, and it needs to be a certain type among the other hundreds of examples we have from other fish that qualify, and not some type of microscale. Also, not sure how healthy it is, when even the government is warning that it's high in mercury, and for pregnant women to avoid. Thankfully, there are so many other options in the Father's kingdom to eat. But it really comes down to one's walk, eat whatever if you still are morally corrupt. Who cares what food you are eating, right? Kashrut is about holy living, most aren't ready for that walk; therefore, keep it simple people!
