ty for this video. I've been struggling with questioning if my work is even gonna pay off. If I'm going to get that one leadership position I really want or if I''m just stuck and unable to move forward. The worst part is my social life is going to shit and messing up my motivation. I'm glad that you made this video though, it reminded me to not get too caught up in anxiety over the current status quo I'm in.

My opportunities will be after the deadline which really sucks. How does one in my situation enjoy the little time left?

To be honest, I'm entering grade 11 (I dont live in the us and dont take an American curriculum, Instead I take the British curriculum which in my opinion is much more stressful.) My school does not offer clubs or give permission to start them, I haven't done any extracurriculars my entire high school years, and in my country, I genuinely dont know whether I could find any extracurriculars to do. I get top notch grades and that's about it really, and I'm afraid I might not have enough time to engage in extracurriculars, any tips? maybe there are remote extracurriculars or activities I can take to boost my chances of getting into the top universities, any help would be appreciated.

Community service, getting a job, sports, music, the arts, get one extracurricular that u rlly like or enjoy doing and focus on that. Make that thing u love shine. For example, band in the thing I rlly like. I focus on that and I’ve gotten into state and regional honor bands. I’ve also started my own small ensemble w ppl and played for the community. Obv music is my main focus (doesn’t have to be music, that’s just my example but prolly should be smth u want to focus on in university) Things like this will look good. And then add other things as well to make u seem a bit more well rounded. I haven’t gotten into a university or a college yet so I wouldnt focus too much on my advice BUT that is what I have heard from others.

You could explain that in your essay. There are also online opportunities: online clubs, online volunteer, online creative projects(make a website/blog, artwork animation, write a story blah blah). Or you could find community projects, I suggest going to your local library (if there’s one in your area) to see the different volunteering/jobs they have. You could also play sports outside of school, or just apply for jobs.

I really did poorly in my Freshman and Sophomore year. No ECs and I averaged like 3.6 - 3.7 each semester. I am doing better right now in Junior year but I am afraid it is too late. @@pranavrajesh3741 I am working in a science fair project so I can get into a good summer program. I managed to get all As this semester so I am in a slightly better position than before. Honestly just study for exams like F=MA and do well enough to put it on your activity sheet. I am going to do AMC next year and try to score 100+. Even if the results don't come out I can still put the score on my EC list. Other than that see if you can start an organization or club. Definitely a long way to go for us but don't lose hope. God is great and we should trust in his providence. There are many good universities that aren't IVY league or UCs.

You can explain it if you do anything outside of school at all. Actual work, volunteering, babysitting, anything like that. Since I don’t know your situation and don’t know if you have any of these, you could still join clubs, get internships, volunteer, and more. I’m assuming you’re a senior in high school. You can look for online volunteer (free) opportunities. Or you can focus your time on creative projects: write a book, create a blog, an art work, social creation blah blah. If it’s at the end of the line for you for any of these I say that it’ll work out fine, you can still get into a college or university without extracurriculars, just not as many. I really suggest just apply, apply, apply, to ensure you have enough options. Good luck to you.
