Yes and no. Since none of the less expensive bodies have this feature, I wouldn’t upgrade from the GX 85 to, say the GX9. This isn’t a deal breaker. Aside from the mic jack, what other limitations have you find when using the gx85? I'm planning to get on to pair with my g85. Thinking of getting it instead of G7. Or thinking if I should stretch my budget for another G85 or even a GH5
@@GlennUpgraded I think the bigger limitation is the fact that the GX85 doesn't have cinelike color profiles like the G85 does. I'm not sure if that's also present in the G7. In terms of weight, GX85 is heavier which is weird because it is the smaller camera. Also, the fps aren't exactly the same with the ones found in the G85. As far as I remember, the only common ones they have is MP4 4K at 24 fps and the AVCHD 1080p at 24 fps. Everything else is different. The GX85 also has no recording limit in some video settings (4K MP4 and 1080p AVCHD; 30-minute recording limit applies to 1080p MP4). The G7 doesn't have unlimited recording unless you hack it (but the hacking doesn't need much tinkering) and no IBIS, I think. The kit lens for the GX85 is good but can be annoying as it does not have manual focus ring (if that matters to you). If budget can really be stretched, GH5 might be a better main camera and make the G85 your second camera. In my case, I couldn't justify buying a GH5 considering that buying both GX85 and G85 is still way cheaper; you can buy additional lenses if your budget is even higher.
Interesting note on the video modes. I haven't observed any fps differences between G7, GX85 or G85. There's also a cinelike hack for GX85 but I shoot in natural so I don't need it. The G7 is about 16 grams lighter than the GX85. GX85 and G85 feel more robust. G85 is weather-sealed. I have a video comparing these three cameras. ruclips.net/video/KONHaUM7HrY/видео.html

27.94 x 35.56 centimeters cool
Thank you!
I dont get for this price, i found it Amazon $700, and ebay $650 :(
Price went up after the video was published. :(
I like how you put that sad emoticon, as if you didn’t know this could happen after such a positive review....
Haha good point! I wish they made the same exact camera in 20 MP. Then I wouldn't mind the price difference. The GX9 4K is cropped more so I'm skipping that!
