    Couldn't agree more on the form factor. Perfect size for both inner and outer screens! I also agree with you on it being the best choice of the other devices available. Thanks for your long-term review. Great job.

    Great Video man. So o am on my 3rd replacement Pixel Fold. I agree with you about the form factor of the pixel fold because its the perfect size and the orientation just makes sense. On the down side, this is my first Pixel device, and despite haveing some cool features and a great camera, this device has the most unstable cellular connection compared to other mobile device makers. I know the problem is The Pixel and not my service becasue when i put my sim in other devices, i have zero issues. For this reason, this will be my last pixel device and i am going back to the samsung universe were i had to deal with the narrow outer display which i could not type on.

      Thanks, much appreciated 🙏🏼👊🏼 I feel that for sure, the downside of tensor and the modems Google has continued forward with. It’s super unfortunate honestly and I wish they’d go back to snapdragon. Would love a passport like fold from Samsung / others also.

      Bro, this way of thinking is just wrong.
      Just because the fold might have bad connection, it doesn't mean that the following phones are the same. For example the pixel 8 lineup has absolutely no issues with that. And it can only be better with the fold 2 or the pixel 9 pro. You really should give pixel another chance. Anything else is unfair.

      @@Catalanskrr I’ve had several pixel 8 series phones and all had connectivity issues. Ever since tensor, modems have been terribly inconsistent unfortunately.

    New viewer here, I feel as though you would like some feedback, so 3 positives, 3 negatives, 3 improvements.
    +, Straight to the point and concise, you got right into the video immediately and didn't waffle on, keeping on topic the whole way through.
    +, Nice opening setting, you have a natural and bright opening setting with a clear focal point, being the phone. It's refreshing to see as the viewer and makes viewing as someone new to the channel much easier.
    +, Great linear video organisation, you go from a clear topic like displays, to the build onto to the battery, it makes for a much more professional viewing atmosphere (if that makes sense) and it gives you more credibility in my eyes as you actually seem like you know what ur talking about.
    -, The amount of scenes actually showing the design and aesthetic of the phone are lacking. You show only 3 environments to which you could see the phone, and as the viewer, i would like to see more of these shots, whether it be walking along a suburb pathway, a park trail, or even a grassy/natural landscape to fit with your initial opening setting.
    -, You mention data sometimes in the video, and i would like to see this more, it is one thing for anecdotal evidence, however if you are going to show some graphs, you should add more data to back up your claims made.
    -, There is no comparison between the pixel fold and other folds, you show images from the pixel however the viewer has no sense of whether its good or bad, we dont know whether the camera is good compared to other phones such as the Z fold, additionally more comparisons would be nice, such as price compared to Samsung or other main competitors, resale, performance, design.
    i, Audio quality is a small downside, you have a great calm voice, however it comes across as grainy, muffled and overall just slightly unsatisfying to listen to, if you were to fix this, you would need sound dampening. you can do this via separating video and audio, by doing a voice over separate from the video, you dont need to worry about this. (and for sound dampening, you can just hide under a big douvet or doona, it works surprisingly well)
    i, Audio transitions, its hard to recognise sometimes, however there are slight cuts and just abrupt audio changes, such as with the music, if you changed the audio transitions to be slightly more seamless it would significantly improve the viewing experience, and make the experience for viewers who like to listen to videos even better.
    i, I had touched on this slightly in the negatives, but more variety in the shots demonstrating the design of the phone, even if its taken from the promotional material of the phone, its a good way to keep engagement high.
    Overall, great video, you have a great formula here and I believe if you just refined your videos a slight bit more they would be amazing, and i want to make it a point that it was hard to look for negatives because realistically, there were very little. mainly just pet peeves. Keep doing what your doing man!

      Thanks, much appreciated 🙏🏼 The leather skin is the perfect pairing for this foldable. Feels excellent, like a well made notebook (though significantly heavier haha).

    Have you run into issues with the big screen when running apps? Fir instance, Facebook, Instagram, banking apps. Do they show up nicely on the phone or is the sizing wacky?

    • @drewlipps
      @drewlipps  18 дней назад

      Banking apps have been fine, outlook, slack, chrome, RUclips, RUclips studio, and content consumption apps have been great. I don’t have Facebook, instagram, etc unfortunately so can’t speak for those apps. Overall most apps had some level of tablet / foldable scalability and responsive design in my use.

    Good video. I have owned all three foldable available in the US. Ultimately, I took the Open over the Pixel Fold. I hope Google improves the build for the Fold 2.

    Hello everyone, have anyone had problems with the wallpaper changing on its own?
    When you past and copy something to a document folder . The items stays over the keyboard
    Have any had issues with leaving oily finger stains on the screens

      No issues with this at all on any current or previous Pixel devices. First I've heard of this being an issue. Are you on the latest OS or are you using beta by chance? Have not seen/heard of this from others on team pixel.

    I found it more cost effective to go with a pixel 8 and the pixel tablet with the rebate credit Google gives you when ordering directly thru them.

    • @drewlipps
      @drewlipps  23 дня назад

      Makes total sense. Sometimes it’s best just having both devices versus all in one anyways.

      I know for some, for example I met someone who works construction who used the Pixel Fold as their main phone but unfortunately small pieces of dirt/dust got into the inner display and it damaged it quite easily for them and a few times Google had to replace it for them.

    to be fair foldables are a scam for 2 main reasons: 1 battery life - you got an entire phone, minus the battery, plus an aditional phone where you can fill almost entierly with battery. That means that if you never open the phone. you should get about 2 times the battery life. 2nd. And this is a bigger issue, you are paying even more then 2 times the price for this trash. Yes brand new this is 2500 Euros compared with 1050-1100 Euro compared with S24 Ultra. For more then 2 times the price, you got LAST YEAR'S MID RANGE SPECS.
    So unless you are showing me how this thing crushes the S24 Ultra in every single aspect, and I mean crush it, not about the same, what you are doing is telling us how great is this piece of trash.

    • @drewlipps
      @drewlipps  День назад

      There's a market for everyone. Foldables certainly are not for everyone and they're certainly not beating some of the equally high end devices out there like the S24U for example. However for those looking to have both a tablet experience and a "compact" smartphone in one device, it's the perfect form factor for them. I know many contractors, electricians, teachers, trainers, marketing agents, realtors, architects, etc. that love their foldable simply for the form factor / larger inner display and they could care less about the cameras, battery, etc.. Mass majority of people never compare phones or put that much thought into their purchase, they simply just buy what they want/like. It's only techies that compare specs, benchmarks, and label devices "flagship".

    • @kurt120032002
      @kurt120032002 23 часа назад

      @@drewlipps I am not contradicting anyone, I just say they are scamming people. For the outrageous price nothing except the very best performance in any category, is acceptable. I didn't say the phone is for everyone, and the fact that are people who buy it doesn't make it less of a scam. I would buy it for the same reason I am using a Note phone (yes I am still calling it that, I paid for it, I call it however I want😄) and that is for productivity, however let's not forget that the point of an expensive device is to be the best of everything. If I need a a flagship phone to do flagship tasks like top quality photos, alongside with the foldable, at that point an iPad mini will do a better job for less money. There should never be a moment in the period I use it, where I go "let me get the s24 for the concert and leave the foldable home"
