Nice! Just placed my order for a large 9.8 deep smoke. Be here in Dec ( seems Trek sent out all mediums here to So Cal). Both a Fuel and Remedy owner. I was going Rail 9.7 vs EXE 9.8. For my techie and light enduro stuff I went EXE (though the new motor was definitely a huge push towards EXE) On a weird note, Trek chose to make deep smoke (black) a special color on the 9.7 for some reason and additional 600... Figured for an additional 600 over the deep smoke 9.7 just get the 9.8 (deep smoke is a standard color on it)....
Just ordered the exe 9.5. Im 5’4”. Did you find the handlebar width too long? I read it’s over 800? Would you cut it down at all at your size? Thanks for the review. I really enjoyed it.
We called the guy who bought the EX e he said it’s a lot more of you putting effort into it! He said he likes it because it feels like a real bike . He’s more cross country so he likes how it turns quick .
I always put it in first when i come to a stop, drives me nuts that others leave it in whatever gear they were in! Cool little backyard trail!
Ditto… that’s a pet-peeve of mine as well and I always downshift upon stopping.
I'm getting the 9.7 to replace my regular mtb! Still keeping my Orbea wild for longer/more elevation rides.

Width doesn't necessarily correlate to Rider height. It's more shoulder width and type of riding. I'm 5ft and 750 seems to be my sweet spot.
Good review...I'm thinking on getting the rail, looks to be more fun! I'm not sure what size yet...how tall are you?
5 ft 2 I ride a medium yet I can do a small too.
want to get one sooo bad but dont know if i can justify 6k, 2k for non e bike ok sure
Didnt i see this already? Did you repost?
Yeah in better quality & longer .. I’m doing an unboxing then another titled Trek against Rail. I have more footage for the two side by side .
How is it going up hills?
