I never wanted an e-bike because it looked like an e-bike. This changes that! This is my next bike!
I’m waiting on my first bike the 2023 trance x e+1 still 6 weeks to wait. Been thinking of this bike as a second bike to go to the gym on and into town etc. went down the bike shop today and jumped on it to see if the size was good for me and was blown away with just how amazing this bike felt even with the power turned off it felt just amazing. I bought it on the the spot. I went home just buzzing. I should have it within 3 days once it has been put together. So excited.
For me, the #1 benefit is that if I run the battery flat, it appears that I have a MTB without pedaling resistance. While I love my Rail, if the battery is gone, it feels like I'm dragging an anchor down the path. With this system, if it is true what they are saying about resistance, my worst case scenario is that I'm riding a slightly heavy MTB. That gives me comfort to ride deeper into the mountains without fear that if I lose my battery, it's going to be a very tough workout to get back. I love this whole concept and will be ordering one later today.
and hey! remember! I believe you can get extended batteries that you can throw in your pack that will help get you back :)
Thank you so much Trek Bicycle for this Mountain Bike🙏
I just bought it as my first emtb, the philosophy of this design is exactly what I wanted. it is absolutely awesome. Great work Trek !
condolences
Congratulations to the product development team. You've raised the bar.
they should be drawn and quartered
they are doing to biking what happened to skiing and surfing
There is no distance (trip meter) overall ride time or clock..these would have been a great addition..I feel these are more important than watts and motor output info.
Absolutely love the new bike! And the new presentation format. Can’t wait to get my hands on one!
I have just bought the 9.5 model ( my first e-bike also) hands down the best bike I have owned, Its so addictive, so well built and thought out every detail, the motor is incredible, proper game changer. Kudos Trek, TQ 👏
this TQ-HPR50 motor is a game changer, WOW
absolutely crushed it!! BUT please discuss the required scheduled maintenance with the motor(if any) and what kind of longevity are you expecting out of the motor? Does it get louder as it wears on the HPR? plus can you buy an additional 360 battery? how much would that be?
I got this bike and I love it ,it is a great bike, good job TREK !!!!
as a full e-mtbiker, i´m looking forward to get the full ebike with a small 85Nm engine (no need that large battery for weight savings if i got the battery extender for longer rides). With this motor design, you clearly got an advantage to do so. Finally to make it perfect, a) add a USB port to be able to charge smartphones, lights, etc. b) add a colored screen with enough information at hand able to synchronize with your garmin/etc. watch to monitor heart rate, etc., c) a space to port tools (air, pump, tools, etc.). Best luck
Wow! Love it… It’s so discreet and that is a key feature. So smart to design it in and promote it as one. That’s my next bike!!!
Es video con alto contenido de las reingenierías que aplica TREK para ser líder con nuevos cuadros, electronica, motores, software.
I got my 9.8 EXe several months ago. This bike is everything that Trek claims it is. I still ride an analog bike 50% of the time, but the EXe is the one that puts a huge smile on my face!
analog?
stop with the idiotic mixed metaphor .... there are no 'analog' bikes, ya fecking nimrod .... they are just bikes
Trek engineers had been very busy lately. Whew! Nice bike!
Will be buying this bike soon, great job Trek!
I needed this to keep up with my fast friends, sadly. I bought the EXe 9.8 XT and then I bought a Domane+ SLR 9 with Dura Ace, and the same motor. Sadly due to the weather I have spent more time on the Domane, but believe me as good as the motor is on the Exe Fuel, it shines even more on the road. I am looking forward to the weather getting warmer here in the Mid-Atlantic!
that is shameful
get better friends
Thanks guys the bike looks great can't wait till I get to ride one. What is the app called? I may have missed that in the video. Cheers
The range extender is a really cool idea
There have been E-bike batteries catching fire incidents on the media so want to know mitigation for that issue and safety compliance rating for international travel like going to Nepal.
I love my EXE. It's amazing
This bike looks like a dream, I would like to ride it on the trails in my region, 🙃😍
Except they won't let you. Check out local restrictions of ebikes.👎 what good is it if you can only ride it on a road.
Great bike for your target audience who weighs 160lbs. It would be very cool to see the TQ HPR50 motor on the Checkpoint gravel bike as well, the silence is awesome.
I was surprised to hear from the TQ rep that Trek wasn't interested in the HPR120, I find that disappointing as a 6'4" 270lb rider. My favorite current bike is the Full Stache with 3.0 tires, which is used more as an adventure/bikepacking bike with a BOB ibex trailer. Yeah, the rear end is very noodlely and the rear chain stay dosen't need to be as short as it is. This would be a great bike to put the TQ HPR120 on for heavy riders and bikepackers. A Coil shock would be nice for Clydesdale riders as well.
This year we are getting a few bikes with 900Wh bateries, so you should't complain too much. Skinny people desrve some love too and they only have a few options to choose.
I'm 225lbs and this bike is amazing. I don't need more power. Just gonna get fitter
I just rode one the other day and I want one. It didn't even feel like an ebike, felt like my Ripmo
What’s cool about all these product releases is that they can pat themselves on the back while you wait a year to see one. Good luck finding a trek rail anywhere let alone a new model.
True. I’ve asked a Trek employee from my LBS and they are expecting them in store late December.
I know there are EXE's shipping in the U.S. this week, go talk to your shop and see what they have on backorder.
@@dbocon I’m the UK so shipping might differ. I have a Slash for now so not really in a rush but I would love one.
I was just looking at some in my local trek store
Some Fuel EXe are due in shop (east coast US) 10/22. Other models have lead times of 4 months (120 days). The longest lead time I see is 210 days.
I do wish the upper builds offered Fox forks/shocks.
I wonder compared to Rail 9, which one is nicer & more comfortable to ride it??
When will they be available? What is the P1 program?
How much drag is there on the drivetrain if used without a battery? Would it pedal like a regular bike?
no drag
The mythical unobtainable range extender....come on Trek/TQ.
Have a deposit on a 9.7, but I am seeing a few reports of issues with the motor. Some have been resolved by Trek, but some have not. I may have to hold off on this. Any comment @Trek Bicycle? Thank you.
At first it sounded like the perfect bike it had all that I was looking for. But then I checked the weight and its just shy of 20 k and then it's the price 82.000 for the cheapest option in Sweden. Orbea rise is cheaper lighter and stronger. It may sound more but...
I love that.
I will owned that!!!
Dream bike 👌🧡
My doubt is... I ride my Rail 9.9 size XL, biker 90kg, almost in TOUR mode, never in EMTB or TURBO, alone, for rides of about 1200/1400+m.
is it stupid to buy the new ExE with extender replacing my current Rail?
Do I risk to me back home with ZERO battery... for last climbs?
Tonality... AT LAST, SOMEONE WHO HAS EXPLAINED IT WELL!!! THANK YOU!
I do wish that TQ would offer (1) a wee bit more torque and (2) a throttle.
At approx 8:23 into the video, I didn't see any female riders. Is that Trek's way of saying that there are no small-framed bikes for shorter people?
*
Ahh, I looked at Trek's website and the Fuel EXe does have a small frame available.
*
A throttle would make it a class 2 ebike and not legal on almost all trails, plus, it's a mtb, surely you should have to pedal at least some.
@@tonyrobinson1623 I agree with you. I was thinking about the time when I somehow injured my left calf muscle. I turned the assist to its maximum setting (Turbo mode) but it didn't help. While every pedal stroke was easy it was also very painful. I wished that I had a throttle to get back to the car safely. It doesn't have to be a 20mph throttle, heck 7mph would've been fine. Anyway, it was a painful 10 miles back.

Liked the idea
Quiero una
Is it possible to ride this without the battery installed as an option on days that I want to ride this as a regular mountain bike without the added weight of the battery?
yes it would be
Super 👌
It s a tough segment for sure. I think its a case of if you build it they will come. These bikes need dedicated trails to exploit the technology. Where I live this would just be a snoozefest. They really need to talk up the e jump scene. Some of the race footage I've seen is just nerds talking about battery life.
Not good enough still waiting for an self re-charging emtb...
My dealer told me there won't be any stock this year :(
Love the bike but the $9,000 -13,000 price tag is utterly ridiculous. Who the hell can afford that.
15.000€ 😳😳😳
If only you could buy one. No retailers in the UK have any in stock. Most don’t even offer a pre order option. Seems all you did was produce loads of the top model (that most people can’t afford) for review purposes and neglected to build any of the models that most people will buy. Pity. It looks like really nice concept.
🇺🇦
Already a red flag, minus point compare to Yeti support.
Trek does not have trouble shooting scenarios such as the phone app that is not connecting to the fuel EXe computer.
Called tech support and guy did not have a clue, instead asked me to go to a shop!
Simple thing like this are kind of concerning
Can my dealer flash the controller/speedo if I swap a smaller 27.5” wheel?
Can my dealer adjust from 25km/h 🇦🇺 to 20mph 🇺🇸 limit?
The EXe is suited for 29" wheels, but you can run a mullet setup with a 27.5" rear wheel. However, the speedometer would still read for a 29" wheel and would not change, so there would be a slight difference in mileage and speed. Speed limits are also limited by government regulations and cannot be changed.
@@trekbikes That’s a shame as government regulations don’t apply to off road vehicles.

a mountain bike with a battery and a motor.....is still an ebike.
Lol, i bet you’re a blast at parties!
Trek needs to stop advertizing bikes you cant get. B.s. waiting 60 plus days for a bike that costs a ridiculous amount.
We're advertising what you CAN get 😉 We know waiting for a bike is tough, but it's worth the wait.
And no. It's not actually a "mountainbike". It's got a motor, so it is a moped.
Your great great grandfather probably wanted to tar and feather Paul de Vivie for inventing the modern derailleur and making bikes easier to ride up and down hills. As a rider of a rigid single speed and an ebike I find people like you really annoying.
Since when do you own the definition of "mountainbike"?
Mopeds have throttles. You seem like a real fun person.
