Less we forget the legendary Lonnie Mack was a very early V player. Listen to his tune "Wham" and you see where Stevey Ray Vaughn found his tone as a budding student...
God's of the "V" one and all...

Many years ago I was stationed in London, England. One day I remember reading an eye catching ad in the classified section of either the Melody Maker or New Music Express. For sale were 2 guitars which were both located somewhere in Germany. The first guitar listed was a 1969 Fender Stratocaster that was owned by Eddie Van Halen for $1,500. The second guitar was an original 1958 Gibson Flying V for the princely sum back then of $5,000. This was in the time frame of November of 1979 to November of 1981. I’ve often wondered what happened to those guitars and where they might be today?

The Flying V is an iconic guitar! I think there's even a music store that has one as a logo, but I'm not entirely sure.

My goodness… you have incredible guitars passing through your hands. This is hands down one of the rarest holy grails in the market now. Only an explorer would be more rare

Tuners are not original are they?

An original Futura & Moderne would actually be the rarest Gibsons. The originals seemingly disappeared after their poor NAMM reception, although I've heard a 50's Moderne was bought as New Old Stock at some guitar store, having been dumped on them by Gibson trying to get rid of the evidence according to Trogly's Guitar Show.

Freddie King didn‘t play the Flying V. He prefered the ES 345. It was Albert King who was the first popular guitar player with the Flying V...

I never understand when guitarists refer to a guitar's quality as more breathing?

Wished to hear that guitar through a real tube amp without reverb, delay. Sorry, but that demo was kinda awkward 🤨
