Ask Utley - Too Much Face Rotations

I was asked a question recently by one of my Students. They said they found their stroke, they were hitting solid putts but they were making too much Face Rotations. Here are my thought...

I went out and putted under a 7 foot string two hours every single day. And in the end what I learned is EXACTLY what you are saying. Few people understand this and why it is. Also make a square shafted putter out of wood and ride the square shaft one stair step up from where the blade is. What you will see is the exact same thing proving once again you are right. A long putter can also be used for training purposes only. The upper left hand is used to stop rotation only. It's easy to do. A former touring pro showed me that one.

You can get one of those thin metal yardsticks and put some tees in the ground to curve it.
