Mahathir's mother, Wan Tempawan Wan Hanapi, was a Malay of Kedah. His father, Mohamad Iskandar, was from Penang of Malay and Indian descent. Citizens of Malaysia know that the Constitution/Perlembagaan Negara (which was written by the British themselves), clearly spelt out the Rights/special position of the Malays, their religion Islam, & their Malay Sultans. Malaysia is a unique country with 9 Malay monarchs.
We welcome people to our land TANAH MELAYU, which literally means "Malay Land", or "Malaya", as called by the British. IF they want to stay on & make this land their new home, they need to Understand & Respect the Constitution of this country which basically give special rights to the native Malays - which also include the Orang Asli/Bumiputera (sons of soil) as they are also part of the bigger Malay race as they have the same DNA.
Like any other races in the world, the main race have their own set of 'orang asli'/nomadic people, that preferred to stay inlands/remotely (jungles) & refused to live in the lowlands/towns like the majority (yep, like the Japanese with their Ainu tribe).
2. Tun's ancestors were Yemeni that had migrated to Kerala in the 1800s. That's why he didn't answer about whatever Tamil that was provoked onto him by the 'interviewer' - who probably got his Ridiculous 'cue' from some Ultra-Kiasu 'new citizens' 😏!
3. Please know that the MAJORITY of Malaya's immigrants from China & India Came AFTER World War 2. British records showed the no. of NEW Immigrants (* 1940s Right Up to 1957!) exceeded 1 million (yeah, Plus some communists that surrendered). Malaya population then was 6+ million.
[* 1957 Malaysia's independence.
ILLEGAL immigrants came before 1957 were Automatically Given the FREE 'Jus Soli 'citizenship''! Are u aware of this??! 🙄]
The numbers of British hard labourers brought from China & coolies from India in the 1800s, were not that astounding & were limited to selected areas only (tin, rubber).
So basically, 1st mass '(ILLEGAL) immigrant wave' was in the 1910s, after China revolution 1911. Then after WW1 in 1920s. 3rd, After WW2.
4. So, Majority of them were NEW & if you're not aware, Many of those 'new' refused to speak Malay, the national language; DEMANDED to have their 'Chinese' schools (& 'Tamil' eventho' their numbers are ridiculously small! As luckily, racist Indians are not many).
5. For a good, Clever session, the channel shd get a clever interviewer that had done his Homework 1st, before simply attacking a foreign Statesman. He sounded just like some typical local anwar supporter, le. Zero fact/knowledge. 😆
