  • This is a steadicam one-shot I did as a way to practice and have a little fun. I shot it on a Black magic pocket cinema camera 4k with a SLR Magic MicroPrime CINE 25mm T1.5. Hopefully useful for other steadicam operators, directors of photography, and camera operators as well as anyone into movie making, filmmaking, cinematography, gimbals and camera stabilizers. Shot with a insta360 one x, a (black magic pocket cinema camera 4k) BMPCC4k and M-1 volt steadicam with a g70-x arm.

    Red, what was your rig before the M1 Volt and do you think you could have gotten comparable results with a traditional rig?

  • @Samualwallow
    @Samualwallow 3 года назад

    Thanks again for a great behind the scenes! Ive been doing some practice on a cheap rig which convinced me to re- invest in a full kit. Currently looking at Smarts systems kit, as it fits my usecase and budget to get something new. Keep up the great work!

    Thanks for the videos, entertaining, educational, cool. :)
    Are you planning to make a video about your career? How did you start, what made you into it, what was your first gear, what education did you have, etc. And probably about how much a steadicam op can make, hours, gear rental, stc.. i know, it depends, so just in general.
    I live in Europe, so i guess it's pretty different here, i'm just curious. :D

    Hello red . I'm always watching it on RUclips. Thank you. I am a student studying steadicam in Korea. Korea uses more gimbal than steadicam, so how much is it in other countries?

    • @SteadiRed
      @SteadiRed  3 года назад

      Hey man! Sounds awesome, I wish you luck. How often is it steadicam vs gimbal? It's hard for me to tell really, every job I do has a steadicam so I don't see the jobs I don't do. They are more expensive the gimbals so I thing it is reserved for higher end jobs and ones that need it.

    How are you recording the audio, I struggled with her voice a little, probably just not used to her accent. Do you have to provide all of the sound gear as well?

    • @SteadiRed
      @SteadiRed  3 года назад +1

      I did the audio, and that's why it's not so good. It's just not my thing and I have too much to pay attention to when shooting. I have a rode shotgun on the camera and a lav on him.

      @@SteadiRed Ah, that's why her voice goes a little when she turns away :) . I realise you're the camera guy and sound would be someone else's domain in the real world. I really appreciate the work you put into sharing this with us.
