- This is a steadicam one-shot I did as a way to practice and have a little fun. I wanted to do a dancing scene and I did learn a lot doing it. i shot it on a Black magic pocket cinema camera 4k with a Hopefully useful for other steadicam operators, directors of photography, and camera operators as well as anyone into movie making, filmmaking, cinematography, gimbals and camera stabilizers. Shot with a insta360 one x, a (black magic pocket cinema camera 4k) BMPCC4k and M-1 volt steadicam with a g70-x arm.

That's a nice music video and clean moves and shots
thanks so much!!!
So good. You're such an inspiration. I started getting better with my "fake arri trinity" after watching your content. Thank you!
thanks so much man! sounds like a lot of fun!
Wow 😮 perfect 🙏🏻👍🏻
Thank you so much 😀
So much to think about and execute with such precision.

So cool to watch! How many takes did you do?
i don't remember, probably something like 10. but we only did 2 real takes because it was intended to be at sunset.
@@SteadiRed a big gamble that paid off! I've done oner with a similar amount of camera movement, but for a scene in my web series rather than a music video. Just rehearsing choreographing took us about 6 hours. Then we got the following 2 hours on location to actually film 5 complete takes. I also did it on a steadicam, but a much cheaper one than yours. (If you're interested in seeing the scene, look at my channel for the web series "Growing Pains". The scene is in Episode #1 at about the 2:18 mark)
I understand the work that went into this the average person won't appreciate. Pulling off shots like this are one of the hardest things to do with a camera... but to do it as well has you have is just another level altogether. Bravo, seriously impressed mate.
Hi there :-) As we just bought a used steadicam pilot we watched a few of your video's and already learned a lot from them. What was your first real steadicam?
Thanks for your work and love from The Netherlands. p.s. We plan on, as a lot of others already did, making the Steadi-Franken-Cam with a motorized gimbal on
the plate, have you ever played with such diy trinity's?
Awesome! glad i could help! The M1 is my first rig witch I know is kind of crazy but I decided to go all in when I switched from doing normal camera work.
I haven't tried the diy trinity yet, although I think it would be a lot of fun
@@SteadiRed We got the parts together so now the build starts. Thanks for answering and we'll be looking out for new videos.
What are your thoughts on the Tilta Float Handheld Gymbal Support System?
i think its cool. i would love to try it.
What sort of time does it take to set up and shoot something like this? Did they write their own choreography and who decided on the location?
i start by finding some actors that want to do it and i sell them on the idea. i found the location i wanted to do it and told them about it. the day of the shoot they got there a few hours early and made up the choreography. i make up the camera movement once i see them do the dance and it takes about 3 hours to make changes and get the shot we end up with.
Amazing Content man.. We can connect for further collaborative work
thanks!
is this one man army project? I mean if there is a director to tell if the frame is good?
and i mean this is insane. So many details in this shot, and those require tons of experience.
thanks, nope its just me and an AC
good luck bro
thanks!
