@@adarshbhavsar122 I agree the 2.0 TSI is all bonkers...but the infamous DSG associated with it and a big question on Skoda after sales services was something to consider as well.
The civic and altis both had reliable engine and decent service costs.
1.8 NA engine is something else to crave about...if u drove one u would know ❤️
@@adarshbhavsar122 To be honest the performance wasnt crazy as such...but had decent mid-range performance and rev happy motor.
At the end of day it was a chauffeur driven or a family sedan...so nobody expected it to do 0-100 figures.
The CVT felt a bit sluggish but the manual was really a gem ❤️
@@anubhav1020 agreed the DSG is infamous for its issues. But the TSI is reliable too. And Octavia on a whole is a good Family sedan as well. Boot space is huge, legroom and seats are also well cushioned

2:25 even my 2012 corolla altis has full size spare wheel and it is an alloy.. But its surprising that even new models don't have rear ac vents..
Another Detrimental is it's miniscule 1.4L D4D diesel motor which does extracts utmost fuel economy but it lacks the zest in terms of acceleration. Toyota should've slammed under the hood a bigger oil burner motor of atleast 2.0L Displacement.
Maybe old Camry used to have that 2.0l? I guess or it was in other countries version

Not the diesel tho. Pathetic 1.4L 88 bhp engine same as in the etios which cost a third of the altis. I don't know if they discontinued the altis diesel, if they did then good.

OMG Toyota packed in soo much features and attention to detail. Wonder why it didn't sell much.
The major reason of this car low sales (not failure) is its high price and in that category the customers has other other options like innova. But once you taste this car, your next car shall be corolla. As it has low maintainence and service cost. Reliable. High mileage. Engine of properly maintained 5 lac kms is problem free. Many touch 7 to 8 lac kms without any issue.

I own a 13' model (MT thankfully) and its a gem of a car, still drives like brand new and the most comfortable, practical, reliable, elegant and VFM car. Just wish it didn't understeer so much and toyota offered better wheels/tires. I've driven the civic too and i find it inferior, still haven't been able to make out why anyone would civic>altis.

I have this car since 2018 and it has done 57500 km.yes its quite boring car but its music system is just amazing very good quality and trust me its so innocent car that only required normal service that too on a very cheap rate.

The Toyota Corolla Altis is one of the top seller around the world but since the SUVs are well designed, they tookover the segment in India due to which the D-Segment of sedans are becoming extinct. Cars like VW Jetta, Toyota Corolla Altis, Chevrolet Cruze, Maruti Kizashi, Honda Civic are discontinued over the years. And currently, the Skoda Octavia and Hyundai Elantra are the ones keeping this segment alive.
Very true man I really don’t like these so called SUV taking the market that people don’t appreciate these beautiful car which we got... and gonna forget by future generations.

I have to sell my 2009 corolla in 2024 despite it being in perfect scratchless condition. The 15 year old rules is terrible because even if the emissions are below permissible limits, the car has to be junked.
Very sad thing man this Delhi rule is so big problem...these corolla can drive goes more for 10 years if stays up with the light maintenance.
Seen myself a V6 Camry 2004 model in Delhi thankfully it was embassy car so no problem of being scrap but it was so silent driving...and I feel like we gonna miss so many good cars due to this 15 yr old

Faisal, how is this car's CVT connected to the ICE? There is a system called direct shift CVT. Used toothed gear before moving to the CVT. Could have helped with lag a bit but once again only a half leg effort. Why not go all out & use an ISG before leaving it to the CVT ⁉️This way the drive train can get rid of the torque converter ‼️Direct Drive rather than Direct Shift 🤨‼️

In 2018 , my dad had plans of buying a corola altis and we even went to the showroom took a test drive then misteriously that plan got delayed and now we have a Kia seltos

Only demerit of this car was the pathetic 1.4L diesel with 88 bhp, same engine as the etios which cost a third of what the altis cost. I think they've discontinued the diesel, good for them. Better have no diesel options than a pathetic one.
