I live in Juriquilla, Queretaro. I moved here six months ago. Absolutely love it. I'm in the penthouse of a building with two floors, very modern with everything included for a grand. Gated, security downstairs. Five minutes from Antea Mall. Moved here from Orlando. This same place would cost three grand there.
That's awesome! I learned about Juriquilla too late. This is definitely where we'd go/stay/live if we go back to QRO. Did you find it on Airbnb or do a 12-month lease?
Glad you enjoyed it! I originally started doing it because I thought the video ended too soon. But then I thought most people would probably like to know things like cost, where it's located, and if we'd stay again. Thanks for the comment!
As you will learn, Queretaro is a very wealthy city. It is also very safe, easy to drive and very clean. It has a high per capita income, education level and many foreign companies have their Latin American production resources in Queretaro. Although small, the state of Queretaro has much to offer in biodiversity. Please attempt to visit other parts of the state. You will not be disappointed.
In my short time there, I can definitely see all the things you mention. Besides Santiago, I only made it to Bernal, but I'd love to visit other cities in the state!

I’ve been in Queretaro for over a month. It depends where you live how much things cost. I am a 20-30 minute walk from Centro (depends where I want to end up how long it takes), in a loft. The area is poorer but rent and food are a lot cheaper. I can have brunch in San Roque for 70 pesos. The el Tepatate market is very inexpensive for groceries and dining. It’s just not high end. Rent is just over 600 USD. I’ve met a lot of friends and have been to some beautiful high end places during my stay but I’ve managed to stay here for a reasonable amount of money. The downside is that I do need to Uber home after dark as it’s not smart for a woman to walk alone here at night. Daytime is fine though. It’s definitely a different and ungentrified slice of Mexican life in this area but it has its charms for sure. Thanks for the lovely tour. A friend of mine is thinking of taking an apartment there so it was nice to see. I hope you enjoy your visit as much as I have.
Hi Sophie, thanks for watching and for the in-depth comment! Brunch for 70 pesos sounds great! I remember paying a lot more at, say, Lauro 😅 I have heard crazy stories of friends of friends paying only $100 in rent per month (obviously not through Airbnb!). $600 sounds very fair--how did you find your current accommodation? Is it a 12-month lease? How did you decide on QRO versus other Mexican cities? I hope your friend enjoys whatever apartment they choose and that you continue enjoying Mexico!
@@intristang It's an Airbnb. The fella is in Germany right now so when he's not, he lives here. It was a monthly rental and I bartered a bit for the price although it was still reasonable. that's US dollars not Canadian! I''m actually leaving for Lake Chapala soon after a side trip to Jamaica for a Mexican work visa. This is my last night in Queretaro (feeling a little sad since I've really enjoyed my stay and all the wonderful people I've met). I ate at one of my favourite restaurants in Centro for a treat. It's really reasonable and quite romantic. La Llave - its a hotel/restaurant on the walkable street with all the umbrellas overhead. Walk through the front restaurant and go to the centre courtyard of the hotel. In the evenings there is an excellent singer/guitar player - not too loud. I think the food is quite fine. I can get a mini bottle of wine for $130 pesos, 3 quesadillas for $100 pesos plus they give you chips and salsa and quac on the house,... the service is very good, and the prices are super for centro with that ambience. And I walked home at dusk tonight! Hope you enjoy Queretaro as much as I have!
