Uni is interesting. I don't dislike it, but I think it's an acquired taste. I've only had it once, and to my recollection it tastes briny, bit pungent, and a little creamy. Texture is very weak, felt like liquid in my mouth. Not my favorite, but I think I would like it more upon revisiting.
I was disgusted the one time I had it. My friend watched all the stages of grief pass across my features ad I chewed. Ended up politely spitting it into a napkin and chugging tea.
@@aliciagonzales4612 lol yeah it's not for everyone. I would say it's more complex than delicious, a flavor you appreciate rather than enjoy. It doesn't have that savory quality that some fish like unagi has, doesn't taste as clean as fish like hamachi either. It tastes like the ocean.
If you're ever in the Sacramento area, travel one town over to Roseville and try the omakase at a place called Tang's. It's phenomenal 🤤
