A lot of people were confused about Golden Freddy in the FNAF Movie. In the games he was the original Fredbear animatronic from William Afton's first restaurant: Fredbear's Family Diner. The same might be true for the movie.

The part I like about Fred bears change to Golden Freddy, is the replacement of his purple hat and bow tie. Purple in the Fnaf games is sort of a representation of death. Most characters who have a heavy amount of purple relating to them have some big death tied to them; Fred bear, Spring Bonnie and Purple Guy for a few. Replacing the purple to black is a way to change him after The Bite of 83, seperate him from the past death.
Also he wears purple in ucn so that's a neat way of showing his true colours! (Pun very intended)

@@BroTheToastat the time of Mark’s play through with that clip (fnaf 4) the bite of 83 hadn’t been referenced or shown in any of the games. The game that told us it was the bite of 83 and not 87 was sister location and it had not even come out yet. Also, Scott completely retconned the bite of 87/83. In fnaf 1 the phone guy clearly states that in the bite of 87 the victim survived significant damage to the frontal lobe. In what sister location reveals to be the bite of 87, we know that both the frontal lobe would not have been singled out for being damaged and the victim did not survive.

This take on Golden Freddy reminds me of the fanmade Spring Freddy, which was also taken as “the rebranded bear”

Thats why the springlock suits were retired but we still see 2 of them in fnaf 1 and fnaf 2: the company has multiple different versions of them for each location
Well, I have 2 points that may make sense.
1. The FNAF Movie takes place in 2000, 17 years after Fredbear's closing in 1983. The bowtie and hat may've decayed or gotten dirty overtime.
2. In the BTS footage, we can see Golden Freddy's head. It shows the hat tilted of his head a bit, implying that the bowtie and hat are removable. He may've just gotten some new parts, which may explain his new endoskeleton and his glowing blue eye.
Unfortunately Cawthon doesn't think that far as far as consistent design. GF/FB/SF and SB are in three (technically two) generations of FNAF animatronics despite being put out of service after the first generation.
Finally someone who says fredbear is golden Freddy it be annoying when people say they different characters
I think it's more likely that people forgot the name fredbear. You wouldn't rebrand the character that you've decided to trash, so it's more likely that fazbear entertainment employees would look at the yellow bear suit in the back and say "oh it's the golden Freddy"

Scott made the name canon (FNAF 2 custom night has the "golden freddy" mode). He's referred to as Golden Freddy in the credits of the movie. Maybe his in-universe name is Yellow Bear but it doesn't really matter, my point is that he's a rebranded version of Fredbear.

@@berrygoktug1652 Don't think there's a lore reason. Just a design choice. The Withered animatronics are supposed to be the same ones from FNAF 1, but their models are very different (even ignoring the obvious damage). Scott has a habit of making the same thing look different between games.
How can anyone not tell the difference between Freddy and golden Freddy in the movie he literally has an ear and an eye ripped out I don’t understand how people didn’t see that was golden Freddy. Man I really hope that doesn’t happen with withered Freddy and withered golden Freddy when the FNAF 2 movie comes out and I now that the second movie is confirmed.

To give a full timeline, Freddy’s originally opened in 1983 closing in 1985. Henry repopens it in 1987 (fnaf2) while Freddys reopens sometime in 1990s. The first game takes place in 1993 in a closed Freddy’s.
Freddy and Friends was on the TV that gave us the year 1983, so they had already been created

For me, I believe there are actually two "Golden Freddy's". One is Freadbear, the same as in the fnaf 3 and 4 minigames. The other is an empty costume, which would be golden Freddy from fnaf 1. I believe Henry made Goden Freddy first, then Willian introduced the springlock technology , thus not needing to have two "springbonnie's"
That makes sense, why would Fazbear Entertainment fix Fredbear's suit just to forwent it?

I figured that after the Bite of 83, Fazbear Ent. redesigned Fredbear to cover up everything, which explains why Fredbear is only seen in 80, and future versions are of him with a black hat and tie without the purple hat and tie.
This gives proper clarification, and explains a lot.
I have a different theory
golden freddy isn't fredbear because he has a black hat and plus 4 fingers when fredbear was a springlock suit, which humans could fit inside of. so maybe golden freddy could be a spare freddy suit if the regular freddy suit needed maintenance. for the 2nd game, he has wires but no endo because there are devices inside the suit apart from the endo, as phone guy said when he was talking about the animatronics stuffing you in a suit.
Remember springlock suits were anamatronics when they were not being worn

my headcanon is that golden freddy is an animatronic specifically brought out for birthdays, and eventually since he spent so much time sitting in the back room he withered and (as phone guy mentions) his servos locked up, and a giant golden bear sitting on the stage isn't really a nice birthday surprise so he was scrapped
I personally like to think for golden Freddy reimaginings that either he was a old machine that for now we shall call Goldie fazbear caused the bite and after that he was scraped and thrown away but then became possessed by the bite victim or a old costume that became possessed by a demon that would later cause the bite by possessing another machine then awhile after that cause the missing children incident or it’s actually the killer that got killed and stuffed by his victims in a old prototype special character costume that is gf what do you think of these ideas :) ???

I don't agree with that explanation, but it's a pretty good one I didn't think of.
My idea is that golden Freddy isn't real, but just a hallucination that Fredbear is causing. But since Fredbear/Cassidy isn't there in their physical form, they're making you see a "golden Freddy", which to mike's brain is a yellow version of fnaf 1 Freddy, and to fritz' brain is a yellow version of withered Freddy.

I honwstly think that Golden Freddy is just a nickname for posibly some sort of prototype suit.
Fredbear (The one in Fnaf 4) and Golden Freddy are too completly different animatronics.
I am a veteran FNAF fan since FNAF 1 was the only game still and I did not realize that was golden Freddy in the slightest. It did not look obviously yellow enough at all

The community named him golden Freddy, when we didn’t know who he was. Fred Bear is his actual name revealed all the way back in Fnaf 2. And then eventually Golden Freddy and Fred Bear became two separate characters, Fredbear being the actual animatronic and golden Freddy just being an apparition of it, kind of like phantom Freddy.
