I would really like to see this as a roller or with a brushed system in it to bring the cost down. Most of us are gonna put our own system in it anyways. Love what you do Phil. Keep it up!
Just got mine, it was here at my door in 3-4 days it was $220 and i had a $50 coupon, $170 shipped to my shop, not bad, i really do like it a lot, price point & quality 8.5 out of 10. I love it running on my indoor track, handles beautifully 😉👍🏽💯

I would not consider it a super value but given the current state of things , I don't think it's a bad deal. If parts were quicker to come by and the aftermarket world took notice and started offering a good variety if hop ups it would really be a game changer.
Overall based solely in your video, I would say it's worth the money. Thank you for the honest and forthright reviews. You do a great job for our rc community.
Exactly, I was astonished by how high quality and bespoke this thing was for a wltoys, I didn’t even know wltoys made 10/10 scale, let alone an on road one of this incredible quality. Who cares about that front end and those goofy lights, that body is beautiful and the chassis/electronics look amazing for the price, especially relative to all other wltoys out there. Im buying this thing.
Looks like a fun car. The thing with WLtoys is most can't just pop into a shop and buy parts. Something this fast will crash fast so I can envision waiting on parts will be the norm for most.
Yes, that's why I don't own Chinese cars anymore. I had acme trooper a while ago when Chinese cars use to be cheap. I paid 115$ for brushless 4wd short course. After breaking it every run it was not fun at all. Diffs didn't use bearings, so metal was rubbing plastic housing and within 10 packs they started to fall apart. Of course, esc died second pack, body was not made out of lexan so it broke into 100 piece, and it ended up in the dumpster. At least motor is good, I use it in my slash 2wd, only 2000kv but on 3 s is decent
Great point. My tamiya xv01 isn’t terribly overpowered but things wear and tear and sometimes the hunt for parts stateside can get tricky. I’ve had to just buy spare parts x2 overseas so I won’t have a month + of downtime when something breaks.
I've never had any issue getting aluminum hopup parts for WLToys on eBay. They are usually cheaper than name brand parts to boot. I'm still running my 12428.
Well, I must say that at the original price at which they sold it in my country (250 USD) it was a bit difficult to think about buying it BUT, in these days of discounts I got a combo of 2 WLTOYS (the 104072 and the 104019), both for only 324USD and I'm really really happy 😂 (At least until my wife finds out)
Big Wltoys fan but I agree that it is a little expensive. Would have liked to see this come in at around 150 US dollars. Come on wltoys!
Jesus come on, that thing’s practically equivalent to the metal chassis version of rlaarlo’s 1/10 on road rc cars, which is $300. As someone who’s usually critical of most wltoys rc cars, this is the best thing I’ve ever seen from wltoys by far and the price is imo incredibly fair. Im putting this one on the wish list.
Great videos man. You keep it honest and real. Talbot takes it too far and people don't realize it takes a lot of $$ to keep up with all that carnage. But you let people know about price, performance, and fun factor and that is the right thing to do for the hobby, keep it up.
yeah Talkbot kinda makes a 500 dollar car with another 300-500 in parts and such seem cheap. He will just buy a 1000 dollar car and destroy it then put another 1000 in upgrades for one video. He almost fools you into thinking that this level of carnage and money spending is the norm. Almost makes you forget he makes millions annually, a reported 1.6mil on ad rev alone from yt and that data is from a few years ago.

Another great car from WLToys. As you said, that front end looks they couldn't be bothered, and stuck the style grill from one of the 1/16th rally cars on it! Kind of spoils it a bit, IMHO?! 🤷🏻♂️👍🏻

I payed £52 for a979 with 3 batteries. Awesome car for the price. Wish could go back in time and buy more for a wltoys a club
Comparatively I think it’s not a bad price - problem is you can get 4wd 3s trucks and cars from brands with local shop support for another 75-100 or so.
That being said. You have something different than others. The parts are there you just have to order and sometimes wait etc. which isn’t too different from the “name brands”.
Would love to see this around 160-175 but what’s another $25 in this crazy ass hobby haha.

Good review as always. I think you are doing a fair bit for this part of the market.
I don't know what WPL Toys are aiming for, but they wouldn't be the first company to start at the discount end of the hobby and work their way up to the premium or close to it. I can remember Hobbywing making cheap esc/motor combos, the ones with the anodised blue motor. They were cheap and quick and I wish they still made them tbh. Look at them now though.
I dropped a greddy 4750 in a 124019 w a dumbo6 receiver. It’s an absolute beast. Love your vids man. I’m just getting into the hobby. Very real information.

The only thing I can see is no hex hardware and super sheesy body being a dealbreaker. I really don't feel like replacing all that hardware. I hate the generic theme on that body, it also looks too fragile. You will absolutely be smacking curbs. Great review as always!

Pretty fast but I don't like the graphics and price point is a little high for my taste. Design seems well executed though a top brace would definitely stiffen up that chassis. I wish WLToys have some sort of kits/parts distribution network in the US. At least Rlaarlo is making their cars available via Amazon. I'd spend a little more for the Maverick or Team Associated Hoonitruck. Great review!

If they sell it as a roller for 120-150$ it would be much better and I recon more people would buy it .
I might be late or someone already said it but the button near the power on the remote was to switch cars if you have multiple WLs since it uses the same chip for the ESC

For 195 is a good deal with a brushless system on 3s ...compared to the honnitruck almost 400 with a brushed system

45amp esc just seems a little too small for a 10 scale. But it is Wltoys. Wonder how hot it gets on 3s after a few runs.

If they used less lights, might have saved a few dollars. For how I tend to destroy mine, I'd probably go with the Arrma Limitless when it's on sale. Double the price, but better quality.

When I first saw this on BG I thought it was expensive for a WLToys £176 but when compared to the cost of similar like the Hoonitruck £340 which is brushed or the Quantum R Flux £279 it does seem better value, but is it?

Its geared pretty low so I reckon you could gear it up and maybe get a new cheap esc and I think you’re gonna get 100kph easily.
@@epicmemechannel Then again you could buy a used FTX buggy and get to that speed for like half the price. For the £120 it would have cost before shipping went insane it's a good deal, currently it's just not.

Considering Arrma now has a 1/8th scale 3S brushless Infraction i would save up and get it , this Wltoys model would be nice if it was a roller for about 120-150$

It looks ok and yes the underneath is my favourite bit, the body is not gonna last and I think for the price?? They could of done better? Especially the body, less is more…top review and yes I’ve not bought a Wltoys since a 144001 because of the price. I think this being more expensive people will just flick past it? Get saving for an infraction if you want value for money and longevity 👍

Cool little truck. I don't know, I mean it's half the price of the Hoonigan here in the US. That's pretty cheap comparatively, if not absolutley. I'm with you; freaking turn signal lights are the bane of the budget rc car. And that front does seem weirdly out of place.🤮🤮If you find the esc port for the 4ws port, and stick the light controller in there, what happens?

LED’s I believe the saying is. Less is more and that goes for the LED’s on this rc. Other not bad.

According to my experience with WLToys, i can't recommend it to an entry level rc car newcomer... would go for a Maverick MV150313 QuantumR Flux 4S 1/8 4WD Race Truck...
I went this route👍 Quantum’s 4s bigger and parts easy to get here in U.K.

The 550 motor in something as small as a 1/14 scale truck and they put something smaller than they've ever used before into a 1/10 scale? It's within spitting distance from a brushless hobby grade vehicle = LC Racing, RedCat, etc.
Was it applying brake(on its own) when you let off on the throttle?
