To answer your question Brad, we crop 2000 acres in the southern Riverina of wheat, canola and barley. We run 2 headers in canola and a single header in the wheat and barley. The little header did about 30 rotor hrs during harvest this year and the big header did 85 rotor hrs this year. The big header is a case 7240. For our sized operation we are massively over headered but it also allows us to cover the ground quickly if and when required. Before we got the big header the little header use to do anywhere upto 350 rotor hrs a season. The farmers who we purchased our big header off grew 6000 acres of crop a year and put around 300 rotor hrs a year on it.
WE used to work on on about 280-300 rotor hrs / header for winter crop and probably another 100-150 hrs for sorghum / header , now maybe its a little less with larger headers/ fronts , 40' versa -30-35ft
Congratulations Team Jackson ! Always a great feeling too finish off harvest and even better feeling when you can go into overtime at a nabours place too help out 👍👊
Up here in Canada,on our farm we run about 150hrs a harvest on our bigger machine (CR 960) and 50 ish on the old Tr 96. (32 y\o and still better value per acre)
Congrats guys, you did really well!! @Brad in our part of the world in general the harvest window is 100-150 separator hours when doing grain and canola (some push it a bit towards the 200). that can be extended with 50-100 separator hours when doing grass seed and or beans too. Cheers from Denmark/Scandinavia
It is nice to have a tree fro shade to have tea under in a pinch thank you Jackson Brothers for you videos its beautiful country you live in stay safe in your harvest
I'm glad you are finally finished with harvest. And hope, Matt gets better soon. I'm glad to see everyone on the video lately. Making it more interesting to watch.
Matt you have some awsome drone footage so it might be a thought to making a calendar using some of those shots for next year. Well done for the harvest finish without not many holdups and have a fantastic Christmas and may the new year be a safe and prosperous one.
Hello Jackson brothers, congratulations on finishing harvesting and not nice to have a flat tyre at anytime. Thanks for the detailed video and catch you on the next one. Thanks Stephen
Well done Team Jackson finishing the harvest. Hope it all works well for you. I think I am now a fully qualified armchair harvester after another season of viewing all your fantastic videos and updates. 🪑🤓. looking forward to the mystery tour mentioned on your instagram post today. Thanks for all the effort to share your harvest.
With your harvest machinery maintenance program about to start have you ever thought about cutting the plastic top out of a 1000 litre pod for each of your main machines and storing all of the parts, belts, bearings, gears etc etc that still have some service life in them but have been replaced for reliability, the pods are stackable and could be labeled headed 1, header 2 and so on, then when you have a breakdown and need a patch up part while waiting for a new one instead of searching through dozens of boxes of various bearings for all types of equipment you just go to the specific pod
Yep we pretty much do that except we cut them down to about 400mm deep so everything can be reached. We have the big grey storage boxes that seal for each main machine as well mainly to keep critters out and they hold the smaller parts and filters👍
You seem to be averaging about 19 bags/acre in banana language which is pretty good. I have not been west but I thought their yields were a lot lighter than ours in the east so they may be doing more hectares for the same quantity of grain. Looks like too many wheelies celebrating the end of harvest. Thanks for the season video. Have a great Christmas with family.
I worked in WA a few years back and we averaged 6 bags to the acre , and drove the headers as fast as they could go ! We couldn’t unload on the go as the unload augers could snap off !
Not so much on the farm, but when that truck is on the highway you should practice changing gears without using the clutch after a while you'll be swapping gears as smooth as silk.
This video did not help the rumors that Brad is tough on equipment. First, the tire, then the PTO shaft. Brad, the one doing all the work, is most likely going to be running the machine when it breaks. Yeah let's go with that. Merry Christmas! 😊

Grease gun holder great idea but can you incorporate a holder for spare grease cartridge Always find grease gun nearly empty when I grab one.

Now to keep the Taxman at bay...
Well its good the big boss looks after his staff and brings out coffee for the working team
Brad: “Truck drivers are rough on the gear”. What’s that old saying about glass houses and stones! 😂🤔
Yeah it confused me too -Matt 😂

Well done on your harvest. Cotton to go.
Flamin great, watching you guys is very interesting, keep up the good work & merry xmas you lot.
Good content team I have enjoyed all your videos
As many different repairs you guys take on I am surprised you don’t tackle your own tires
Yeah the case ones do
We do 500-600 engine hours per year on 3 machines.

Do you plant any trees for the one you cut down ?👍🏻🇬🇧🇬🇧
How many tons of grain does the red trailer hold 11.10 min? How many tons of grain does the "barrel" hold for 15.35 minutes?
The big red mother bin holds 130 tons
The 3/4 light is to flash the lights and wake up the chaser bin driver up. They have no excuse then…apparently.
Hi Matt how many acres you fellas have
Ment to ask a while ago how big is you property.
Green Crop in the Distance is that a Summer Crop ?
Yep it would be sorghum I think👍
Well done guys. And great drone shots Matt.
Well done everybody. Great drone shots again & a nice one to end the video
Great drone shots guy's always look forward to your next video
I can smell the rotten grain you scraped off!
I’m not a farmer, or an owner of a header but after watching this video I’m a thinking of buying one just for shits and giggles.
There’s No money in farming, need to head on into Centrelink and grab a drought relief package just to put food on the table.

Haha true! By the way thankyou so much for the clipboards you sent, they are so cool!😁
@thejacksonbrothers Pleased to see you like them. You may have noticed they are a bit heavier duty than typical. Brad had nothing to do with that!
Just wondering when you have to duck to town Which town is the closest
Howdy, Moree is our closest base👍
