Is your Ashland power belt conveyor, stopping mid sort? Does the gray speed reducer gearbox connected to the electric motor begin to get hot? Is there fluid dripping from the bottom of your conveyor belt? Does the sprocket or chain? Does the conveyor make a buzzing noise without the belt moving? Most, if not all of these problems are connected to the motor, speed, reducer, gearbox, sprocket, chain, and rollers.
In this video I’ll show you how I replace the reducer gearbox on Ashland power built conveyor. Ashland uses Boston gear as a supplier for the reducer gearboxes.
Because it is all related, this video also includes removal of the electric motor, chain guard, chain, and sprocket.
I will demonstrate how to reinstall everything and tighten the chain to the correct tension.
