How do you know what motor to get for your furnace?
Look at the data plate on the old motor. It will have the size and rating info for the motor listed on it. Use that information when searching for a replacement motor. Alternatively, you can look up the model number of your furnace and research what motor it takes.

I owned a ‘75 just like it! Loved that bike!
Beauty ! I test-rode one of these a long time ago, wound up falling in love with (and buying) a CBX instead. That exhaust note hooked me and reeled me in....

Sounds like a large docked ship moving in the water pulling on its lines.
That’s a different perspective. I’ll have to take your word for it. I’ve never heard the sound of a large dock shift moving in the water, pulling on its line.

I agree. I can actually hear things around me when I’m on this bike, on my Harley. I couldn’t even hear traffic in some cases. But I will admit that Harley looks sexy as hell.

San Luis Obispo Ca native here, and worked at Rifle, where the Windjammer fairings were made :)
You did?! That’s cool! I did not know they were manufactured out there. Thanks for that!
@@maintenanceman1503 Great job with great owners. Technically, you have a Vetter fairing, and Rifle came later, but they are the same people, and we knew the product line as Rifle. Motorcycle makers figured out soon enough, that they could make their own fairings, and sell them cheaper. Our last day of operation, the whole plant took a group photo outside in the garden...then shut off the lights and locked the doors. Rifle carried on for almost 30 years, albeit MUCH smaller, making race and custom fairings. Unfortunately, they became a victim of the Covid shut down in mid 2023.
@SLO-Ride sounds like you were part of a proud legacy, you were lucky to be a part of that.

How can I tell what kind/size motor I need to replace and where csn I buy a replacement for the motor and blower wheel? Please someone respond
When you take off the motor, it will have a little data plate that tells you the specifications. In most cases, you can just use that information to find one online that matches. Or, if you have a place that sells motors in your town, you can take the whole electric motor to them and they can, use it as an example and find you a replacement. As a final way to do it, you can use the make and model and serial number of your furnace (or whatever the motor goes to) and contact the manufacturer and ask for a replacement motor for that model.
Thank you so much!! the horses ripped the cables off the battery / trailer. A lot of mechanics around here are almost a month out, appreciate it!

Dirt inside that unit seems to be excessive. Especially inside that motor.
I found it common at that facility because it is a mountain summer camp with dirt roads, foot paths, and lots of dusty kids. After I took over as maintenance director, I started scheduled maintenance for cleaning and filter changes.
I will be doing this tomorrow. But inside the attic. Why can't they all be in a closet..............................?

@@maintenanceman1503 nope, can’t get it down in the well at all. 225/60/17
Ugh, that’s a bummer. Looks like the limited offered 17” tires (over the standard 16”) and that wheel well was not molded to accept anything larger than 16”.
If I didn’t want to carry a donut, what “repair kit” is best? Hole plugger, fix a flat, etc.. I do have upgraded roadside too. Does the foam provide sound cancellation? Basically, I’d like to utilize the space for storage.
I think your best bet would be a fixer flat product and maybe one of those tire plug kits

@@maintenanceman1503 done!
Excellent video, thanks for making it. While I agree this is a simple repair I wasn't expecting there to be so many steps just to replace the rewind assembly. It reminds me a little of how some newer cars require you to remove the front tire to replace the battery or headlight (looking at you Dodge).
Ya, it’s a lot of steps to get to that little rewind assembly!
Man thank you so much for posting the whole process. There were little things I was unsure of like the wiring to the capacitor if it mattered which wire went were and other details, this helped me out a lot. $200 part, probably saved me at least $500 in labor (just a guess). Take care.
Hey, thanks so much for taking the time to leave me a comment. I’m glad it helped you out. I appreciate the encouragement.
Thank you for the video! Question for you: we have a boiler for heating our house and what appears to be the old furnace and ducts- we have a fan that runs with an air filter as part of the old furnace system and the last several months it’s been kicking on and off at odd intervals and not running the correct amount of time. Any idea what might need to be fixed?
Well it depends on what controls that fan. Does your wall thermostat turn it on when you set it to “fan on”?
@@maintenanceman1503 yes the wall thermostat controls it
@swey289 when you turn on the fan at the thermostat, does the fan respond by turning on?
Yes it does
@swey289 sounds like it’s short cycling (when a furnace fan turns off and on frequently). You might be able to fix some of these, but a professional might need to be called for others. it’s going to be one of a few different problems. It could be a faulty fan limit switch. That switch turns the blower on and off based on the information it gets from a temperature probe. A bad switch can keep the blower from turning off after the burners has stopped and the air exchanger is cool enough you could test the limit switch with a multimeter. It could be a dirty air filter. Air filter that’s very dirty can cause the furnace to turn on and off more often. You could have leaky or poorly designed ductwork, a furnace that’s too big, abnormally, high or low heat exchange temperatures, corroded, or dirty flame sensor, obstructed airflow from closed, vents or returned, ducks, or the blower motor could be malfunctioning The furnace should only be going through about 2 to 4 heat cycles each hour. And each cycle should last 5 to 15 minutes depending on your thermostat setting and how cold it is outside.
Good, but you should add a segment where the freaking fan is stuck on the shaft and you have to use a puller to get it off. That is my experience in the past when I replaced one.
If I have that happen, then I’ll create an episode for it. I’ll call at the “$&!$ Fan is stuck on the shaft” episode! Lol
I've heard that referred to as the redneck weed eater, lol.
Redneck weed eater? I like it!
There's no base seems built into the ground, It's always had a small water leak problem behind the toilet, Yesterday the pedal kinda broke like to much water goes down so have to bend over use my hands to quickly push down and hurry to pull up, It looks like an old RV that a truck would pull, probably from the late 80's or early 90's, Some rusted metal spring was near the pedal almost half an inch thick and about 3 inches long, Even if I bought a new pedal I don't know if anything could be fixed 😕
Hmmm that sounds like some sort of custom fitted toilet. Maybe whoever installed it didn’t really figure out how to follow the manufacturers recommendations or they had to make a modification in order to make it work in that spot? I’d recommend replacing it with a different toilet. The one in the video is hard to find parts for now. The Thetford Aqua-Magic® VI cost around $140 new, with free shipping here: www.amazon.com/dp/B0B8LN4PR5/ref=cm_sw_r_as_gl_api_gl_i_5J9YFDTX8K7HXN777X1J?linkCode=ml2&tag=scampchannel-20
Okay, I'll give it a try. I've been using a wipe on paste that doesn't last anywhere near a year.
Sweet, let me know how that turns out. I bet you’ll be real happy with the results.
I've done that to auto interiors to remove light scratches from the plastic. Do you have any idea how long that sheen will last on the exterior?
It’s been about a year and her CR-V’s trim still looks great. I think it’ll last several years.
It Figures...That replacement kit has been discontinued..FML
Dang man, that sucks. Well, a replacement toilet isn’t hard to install.
@maintenanceman1503 Actually , I went to Lowes, bought 5 ft. of the same size cable for about $4.. then bought some lead fishing weights that I softened (melted) with a torch, & fed the cable through it. Worked perfect although the lead balls at each end of the cable weren't perfectly round..LoL..but that wasn't a problem. I've ordered the plastic piece that the cables swivel on when the pedal is depressed. But All in All..I still couldn't have done it without your video. Thanks Again, Sir.
Great job
Very helpful..actually showing the work being done, so there are no surprises. Thank You..Time to order the kit now that I know what's wrong.
