Had an issue with a turbo last year. I gave you a call and told you my setup and you asked what size feed and drain i was using. I was using a -6 and -10, you told me to try -4 feed and it worked! No more pushing oil through the turbo seals. Also switched to PDD drains and also no more leaks
You've built exactly what I've had in my mind with this new rig! Plenty of video ammo now for when I finally have the funds to finish building mine. Keep up the good work buddy!
Great content and great work as always! Can't wait to see the towing footage. That On3 is on point! Looking better under the hood all the time. Wish I could still get the PDD filters. The red and black is sharp!
Dang wish i would have had this video a year ago when i had the broken drain pipe fall into my block. Was losing sleep over it so went and pulled the pan and got it out so I was able to sleep at night....ha ha thanks Josh
Turbo oiling lol. There are oem call outs for volume vs time and unless your going to measure the mass flow out of the drain it is pretty tough to argue over. -4 feeds solve so many problems especially if the motor is a little tired. My 94 is a m12/1.5 to -6 to a -4 Y that feeds the two turbos, then I made a hard line 7/8od .40 wall drain that y’s back together into the oem 7/8 drain. Absolutely 0 issues. If I had two -6’s feeding in there would definitely be a problem lol. Oem cummins 98.5-07 the oem feed adapter restricts to a -4 anyways. Your feed ports to your thrust and journals equate to less volume flow then a -4 until you get into hx60’s and hx80’s. So again a -6 is overkill. The oem line just has a large od making it appear visually like a -6 but it’s id is not. Continuing on with the great video :)
I've had bearing issues from blow by and back pressure. Oil can't flow if you have pressure going up the drain. Allot of people don't think about thier pcv system. An engine needs vacuum on the back side of the rings. Our turbo inlet does a great job of simulating a vacuum pump. I've seen it help systems that smoked from oil going into the exhaust myself by evacuation of crank pressure using the turbo.
Are we just going to ignore the fact that Josh was gettin rowdy in the wet driving with his fuckin knee so he could shift and film at the same time…….. in Mexico
What's the biggest turbo you would recommend for stock fuel 5.9 or should I wait and upgrade the fuel? I was looking at a 467.7, but I worry it's too much. Thanks for any input. Love the videos!
I would love to know your opinion on the PDD 472SXE compound kit that reuses the HE351CW. That's what I went with because it was affordable and (my HE351CW already had an upgraded 67mm turbine wheel and housing) it was billed to be a great towing compound kit for guys making up to about 700hp and my twin disk Valair towing clutch is only rated for 550hp. I am using 45% over Industrial Injection injectors, Fleece 10mm stroker CP3, 10 bar map sensor, head studs, PDD valve springs, and push rods...
Dude I have 2 -4's draining into a single -10. The amount of flow a -10 has over a single -4 is more than double. I ran an engine once with the drain off of the turbo to see actually how much oil will come out and I can say, that bearing restricts that -4 flow down to about half.
Not sure if youre being sarcastic, but how much hp can a stock 3rd gen cat handle? How much hp loss? Id love to put one on my 12v to make it less stinky in traffic and in communist canada we get massive fines for not having emissions equipment.
06 5.9 studs springs pushrods. 37s and 4.56 gears. Just went with a .90 467.7 fmw wc fab stainless manifold 2nd gen swap. I have a brand new 6.7 cp3 and new ddp 30% overs. New DD valair. I'm wondering if I'm going to be able to tow and spool that with the g56. My top speed on the highway with the gears is 70-72 mph. I plan on calling some shops to get tunes going. I live on the west coast also and will be on mtn passes. I currently have a stock he351 and silver bullet efi. Any direction to go? I have a 15.6k pj gooseneck with a 5k pound Cherokee on super duty axles.
I got rid of my heater grid solenoid and wires to heater grid and now I have a check engine light relating to "intake heater voltage low", something like that. Do you have this issue and any fixes for it? Thanks
I have a 63/67/12 over a s475 with a 1.10 housing on my 12v it's spools great. Great for towing to. I never seen over 1200 on my egts. It will make 70psi boost in a blink of and eye.
Unrelated question. Can u change the LR spring without separating the overdrive from the case? Like adjusting the arm so it flops back enough to pull the accumulator and spring out? For a manual Vb install. Thanks Adrian
@@horsetorquesdiesel if I support the transfer case and the od unit with a jack and a tranny jack do you think I can pull it back far enough to get to the pin? That cold start on the wrong tune sounded wicked though 😂🎵🎶
So glad you redid the turbo drains after seeing this!👍🏼

if the drains break off get a 8 in long 3/4in lag bolt thread it in , use a cheery picker and small butane torch pops them right out
Not a horrible idea either!
@5:50 I see the YT commented got you worried. Just put a magnaflow muffler in place of the cat and call it your emission control.

40ftlbs on studs only

So the cover clears the manifold
