TRYHARDS - First attempts crabbing, beach training and exploring the Hawkesbury river

Took the fam bam down to the Hawkesbury to try crabbing for the first time. Thought would be a easy as thing to do. turns out its a lot harder then we thought lol. Quick training session and a good explore of the Hawkesbury. Hope you guys enjoy and please sub if you liked the content. cheers guys

What a shame mate, better luck next time, the hawkesburry used to be jam packed with crabs, blue crabs & mudcrabs. Too many guys overfished. I'll give you a tip though, throw the pots out 1hour before low tide and wait until high tide to collect them. This way you check your pots within 6hours so no one can raid your trap & big muddies can get in and out and they panick when the tide changes because they don't want to get caught in low water areas. Throw the pots in knee deep water 30 minutes before low tide. Muddies crawl along the banks at high tide, feeding on shellfish growing on the rocks that are exposed at low tide. They can get to these areas on a high tide. Hope you get better luck for the young lad

Is there any creeks in that system if so put your pots in there and find the gullys and run offs in the creek and throw your pots at the mouth of them, or even out your pots in the middle of the creek and fish the outgoing tide and check on the next high tide

Great vid mate but next time tie the bait pocket down in the centre with a zip tie or some string and throw it in the mangroves should get a bit more luck , keen to see the next vid
