Do love the sound and tone of Mapex drums. They strike me as standing out and sounding different in a noticeable (and good way) compared to other brands. And gotta hand it to Mapex who shook up the entire drum manufacturing world producing high quality drums that looked as good as they sound for the "average" drummer to finally be able to purchase without needing to mortgage the house. No better time than now to be a drummer with all the quality, and affordable equipment available!

Based on the mics information: Shure Beta 91 and 52 in the kick drum, Audix D6 on toms, snare mic and overheads no clue

He is talking about how he would prefer a bass sub woofer behind his kit, so he could feel/hear the bass-y low end!

Good quality in ears that’ll protect your hearing and won’t cause fatigue is nothing to scoff at. Especially being a drummer, he’s at high risk of hearing damage.

good guy, great drummer but holy guacamole, his drumset sounds awful through the mic. yuk.
These are mic feeds from the front of house mixing engineer, directly into camera, sounded great in the sold out room through the PA.
No bass drum tone at all. Just a dead, wet "splut".
technically, isn't dead wet splut inherently a tone in itself?
In rock and roll, you need more cowbell.. In heavy metal, you need more China
