    AFTER crying buckets of tears, I Utubed instructions cuz the way i set things up had the connections leaking like a staff member of the Trump White House. The advice about setting up the first connection to the hose instead of trying to do it after the T-part was attached to the toilet: and making sure the direction of the tape went the right way - which did, in fact, mess with my brain - did the trick. Now mine is shooting out like a (i can only think of dirty shooting analogies so i wont' go there). Anyhow, this was a super clear, very logical and helpful video.
    Having a bidet is life changing. I love it so much I'm making a point of eating tons of fiber just so I have as many occasions to use it as possible. Have you been enjoying it?

    Good video. Very clear. Bit here's my issue. I had a friend come over to install my bidet. Well for some reason he had the whole fill valve spin. Don't know what happened there. Going forward it leaked at the white nut under the tank. He gave up and back to zero. Well my point of view is that he may have stripped the fill valve. However once reattached it's not leaking. And I think its because the old nut found its way to the threads. One other thing is is see he had the Teflon tape over just a bit over the connector. I wonder if thats the problem. I will see for myself I guess. Any comments are welcome.

    • @TheToughGuysTV
      @TheToughGuysTV  Год назад +1

      You can def have too much Teflon, or sometimes the gasket that’s inside the supply line can be “off” on the inside, not seated as it should be. Last thing, these connections do not need to be crazy tight, hand tight is normally ok, but using channelocks / wrench is ok but you have to be able to “feel” how tight you are getting. Overtightening will def cause leaks as well.

    Daughter tried installing one and it leaks from the wall shut off, what could it be?

    • @TheToughGuysTV
      @TheToughGuysTV  3 года назад +1

      Could be a bad connection there, or a faulty supply line. If it's an old supply line you may want to consider changing it out. If the water is leaking from the valve itself, you may want to consult with a plumber local to your area to have them inspect in person (Unless you can swap it out yourself). Could be a lot of different things - hard to know without seeing it. Check the rubber gasket inside the end of the supply line too - and remember, supply lines don't have to be 'wrenched' super tight, they aren't designed for that and sometimes over tightening can cause leaks.

    OK good demo. Instead of a towel use a glass to catch the water close to the nozzle and the water will run into the bowl. For me and everybody living north of the snow and where the ground freezes both hot and cold water lines are needed unless you like your bum ice cold. I just checked the water temperature and it is is 45F or 7C. It is April 10, 2020.

    I hope hope hope you're still reading these comments...I need help!!! I started installing my bidet...instead of a hose from the tank to water supply, I have a pipe. I loosened the attachment from the tank but since it's a pipe not a hose, it just stays where it is. Can I replace the pipe, install a hose then continue on with the installation of the bidet hose and T gauge?

    • @TheToughGuysTV
      @TheToughGuysTV  4 года назад

      You should be able to connect a supply line (hose) to the valve (the part that has the lever to turn on the water flow that comes out of the wall or floor). Sometimes older homes / buildings have a small copper pipe that supplies the water to the tank, I’ve only seen it a few times. I found a video that explains what you need to do I’m 99% sure ruclips.net/video/s2VAz-BDfGA/видео.html

    No need to make sure the tank's empty. The only reason to flush at all first is so the tank fill valve opens and releases the water stored under pressure in the length of line between the fill valve and the water shut off valve.
