Love how you walk us beginners carefully through every step yet never talk down to us. So glad youre back!!!
Thank you
That's because Leah is an amazing teacher!
K2scuba I have to agree with you this lady so kind and what a wonderful teacher. Not sure I want one like that but love how kind she is..
I LOVE Leah. My hubby is a GC with little patience to teach me. Thinks its funny that me being a tax accountant wants to learn this stuff :/ Leah is so patient and an excellent teacher. I installed a hand rail in my mom’s shower by myself with Leah’s direction !! Thanks Leah !!
Amazing how you can wash your butt in the toilet and take a shower at the same time!
I’m a fabricator / machinist w/ over 30 yrs experience and I like your videos and can do attitude. It’s true what you say you just have to want it ! Keep the vids coming !
New viewer here. I've already learned a ton of things from your content. However, I must say that you have such a soothing voice, and way of presenting your videos that really make it fun to watch, and learn.
I agree Jake, This is my first time watching, I'll be a regular viewer from now on.
I’m a first timer as well, I will be a regular
Pretty eyes, too.
Just subscribed I was thinking the same thing about her voice very calming which is good when you're starting to do projects.
Wow, she’s a really really good teacher ! Thank you, Leah, whoever you are. So glad I stumbled onto this video today. I lived for a short time in a friend’s home with a bidet. They loved it so I started to use the one off my bedroom. Felt so fresh and clean afterwards. Have wanted one ever since. And yes, it pretty much eliminates the need for toilet paper 🧻 (so much nice , hygienic and clean...not to mention environmentally better). 👍🏼
This is a necessity for a household with a busy toilet. And it’s great for when you are cleaning your toilet as well.
Who else watching from the coronavirus outbreak in 2020 when a bunch of idiots went out and bought all the toilet paper?
I wonder if there'll be a mad rush at Home Depot buying up all the bum guns, haha.
Yep!!!
:D
Yes going to Home Depot Tomorrow.
Lol hope the haven’t sold out also.
@@tejastechman9212 I doubt it.
I love your videos. I'm a single woman and do a lot of work by myself.... Learned a lot!
Good luck lady I appreciate independence
Weiner dog legs are short I’m married and I do these things once my husbands gotten pissed off, not read the directions, can’t find his glasses and forgotten the towel 😝 voila.....done and dusted
I love how patient you are and the way you explain things to novices like me. I am going to do this😁
I changed out my bathroom sink for an in cabinet laundry tub for double duty as my washer is in my bathroom. It has the sprayer on the sink and it's on the same side as my toilet. I looked at it thought, wow, I could use that as a bidet, It works! I can water mix to get warm water but the cold water is fine. It has been in use for 4 years so far and no issue. After watching your tutorial and such an easy install, I'm thinking of getting the real deal, thanks.
Thank you Leah for making it so simple. I've never come across someone making it as easy and methodical, for those like me with very limited handy skills. Thank you sincerely.
The real hero of the 2020 corona outbreak!
Great Job 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 the correct name is SHATAFA " شطافة " 😅

I just want to thank you for this video. I watched it when you first posted it and knew I had to install one. When the water supply line started leaking, I knew it was my chance. You really gave me the confidence to install a bidet. I don't know how I lived with out one.
Run a garden hose through the bathroom window. Boom! Done!
*Edit*
It's so funny, I made this silly comment over a year ago, then all of a sudden I get a flood of response from it. Why? Bet ya 20 bucks its because everyone is looking up how to installs these blasted things themselves because of the toilet paper hoarding lol!
Here's the best part. I have since installed one as well!

Thanks so much!!! I bought one for my hubby for his birthday and easily installed it watching your video!!!
Best practice: Inspect the mating surfaces of the connector and the washer. I found out the hard way that factory debris can get on the surfaces and cause leaks. I thought I bought a bad water supply line for my water heater. Replace the cheap black washers (if replaceable) with the stronger orange washers. The black washers will soften over time and cause leaks - another 'found out the hard way'.
Your USEFUL videos are the best! Subscribed.
Thanks for sharing your personal experience with others
You're such a amazing professional educator. I wish I had your skills and knowledge. I am an African American young woman who pay for the simplest repairs on my home and believe me have always been a prey for predictors in the bucks. Thanks for teaching in such a beautiful way. Be safe be healthy you are a special being.
Leah is back, people!
Leah-Thank you! I like you so much. Right from the beginning you were friendly and welcoming. I felt very comfortable with your patient teaching style. I appreciate your help very much on this project. Barby
Nice. I do the install off the shower head so that they can have warm or hot water. I can also put in an undersink small warm water tank with an adjustable setting so warm/hot water is always on demand. So far, this year, only one lady has inquired about it in my more than 50 toilet service calls. I might start advertising the options on Craigslist or other media. It should be an easy sale.
I love each and every video you put up! I learn something new all the time...you are a gem for diyers like myself. At 66 this old dog still can learn new tricks...thanks so much!
Thanks for the installation demo Leah. Looks pretty easy to install but I just can't imagine that using it wouldn't turn your bathroom into a car wash. The cold water in the winter would send me through the roof. Haha. It is so pleasant to watch and listen to your videos.
You are absolutely adorable and so patient and so thorough. Thank you so very much.
It's so nice to see you back Leah..Really missed your awesome videos..👍.Thanks..🙂
Very good explanation !! Loved the methodical way and a soothing voice to do it. Thanks a lot. Going to do it in our US bathrooms. Already have it in all of our Indian bathrooms. Very sanitary. 🙏🙏🙏
I could see installing something like this just for the convenience of filling a bucket or easier wash down of the toilet itself. Well done video.
I have fitted things like this for years, but always like how you help and give wisdom I love to watch all your how to the info is great,i always pick up good tricks.THANK YOU.
OMG! I can't wait to install one! I have always wanted one. Hitting Home Depot today. Thanks Leah for such informative videos.
my pleasure Julie
I have never ever seen a better explanation of how to do anything. You are very very good at explaining things to dummies. Cannot thank you enough. This 77 year old is going to do it.
You are a treasure! Thank you for all your fantastic videos.
Ha... just found out where to get it.
It is so refreshing to see a lady plumber and home improvement DYI. 🙏❤️. Love and respects Jane.
I ordered one from Amazon......It came with everything needed and was very easy to install......I will ALWAYS have one in the future......don't know how I managed without one...
Terrific! Great for someone recovering from surgery or is disabled and can't shower frequently. Bidets are so useful and hygienic. Thanks Leah.
I agree
She is so easy to understand!! She is right, I can do it. Ordering one now.
Thankyou so much I have always wanted a bidet but I don't have the space in my bathroom to buy one and I had seen these but thought they would be hard to install I'm a 68 year old granny and I know I could do this myself now so thankyou I am watching from the uk and I have given you a thumbs up thankyou x
I have a bidet add-on that fits under the toilet seat. It seems much easier to use than this hose. I’m afraid I would accidentally spray this all over the bathroom. The under seat units include optional settings for men and women. Mine uses cloud water only as well. I was concerned about that before I used it. Actually it is quite refreshing and not a problem. One uses less toilet paper and gets cleaner. In my opinion a bidet is a wonderful feature.
“Refreshing”???.
You are not supposed to drink from it.
@@Traitorman..Proverbs26.11 Are you sure you made this question ?
Gracias por todo Señora!!!! Thanks for everything. I was considering a bidet for my 91 year old dad and discovered this video which will do tha same job.
Hi Leah. It's been a while since we last saw you. I hope you're well. Once again an interesting and useful video. Perhaps, with your emphasis on beginners to DIY, you should go over some of the basics that real beginners need to learn. Even down to how to correctly measure and cut wood accurately. I've seen many disasters caused by poor measurement, and even more caused by poor saw/cutting techniques.
Thanks Leah, from Scotland.
You could teach Anything! The way you organize and explain things; Perfect! You give us the courage to get in there and do it. That is a good life lesson. Thank You
We had a tenant put one of these on their toilet (without our knowledge) and the line burst during the night ( tenant was home) and it caused $1000’s of dollars in damage to the office below. It’s a nice idea but braided toilet supply lines go bad and this is basically a sink sprayer so you get the picture. Anyways great video! I love your channel
that certainly is a concern
Very good explanation. “Just put this here”. We don’t need fancy words as beginners. Thank you for being so patient.
Thank you Jane. I put mine in last year and love it. We know when someone yells a little from the bathroom in the winter they are feelin' fresh from the cold water. Also with the longish hose it reaches over to the tub when we want to rinse it down after a bath.
Why would u need to use the hose from the toilet to rinse out your tub instead if just using the bathtub faucet? Things that make u go...hmmm
Hi, Cylkree, the hose lets you direct the water to the sides of the tub, also the hose water can reach high up the wall where the shower head cannot be directed easily (in a combo bath-shower) without splashing everywhere like a shower head would do. Great for rinsing the soap after scrubbing down the shower wall too without getting yourself wet.
Very common to see this in India and places outside of the US. They are hygienic and very environmentally friendly to minimize the usage of extra products such as toilet paper. Most foreigners to the US are actually disgusted that your rear end isn't washed by water after you do your business each time! Some folks also have a floor drain in the bathroom and use it to clean their shoes (such as sandals) and to wash their feet. It would be cool to see the trend grow here to minimize waste and maximize our efficiency as care takers of the planet.
Hey!!!!!!! Welcome back ma'am it sure is good to see you again, I hope that everything worked out for you guys.
I hate to give a thumbs up when you log in first but it is worth it. Your instruction is brief and comprehensive. Thank you.
Welcome back!! Happy to see you again!
You are a gem Leah, I love your videos!!! Always Explaining things in simple and clear instructions that I can understand. Please do a show on 1) attaching a seating bidet. 2) an under the sink water filtration system. Thank you!!,
Every toilet in Thailand has one of these, brilliant accessory.
You only go hotels? People in villages es don't have m
Also in Japan Korea India
@@mule666 , toilet in villages will have a bucket of water next to it with a large ladle/scoop/dipper to move the water by hand to do the washing.
The room itself (lavatory/washroom/WC) will be wet version of it, so you can spill water safely in the room.
Soooo great to see you back!! Decades ago before Americans knew much about bidets, I visited France, and was confused and a bit intimidated by the unusual toilets in our hotel. Your video reminds me that this might be a good idea, but given the latest Polar Vortex this winter, well, you've heard the phrase "freezing your (choose a part of the anatomy) off." Most of the year it would be doable. The comments are hilarious today!
I agree KB the comments have been interesting.
I'm so glad to see you back.
Thanks Donna
How water will be hot? Or use cold water? Please sent e mail to me universe5552008@gmail.com thank you olga
Your explanation is very nice and to the point! Any buddy can understand it easily!
I have the in the bowl bidet (the one that is fixed under the seat). Having 3 kids, my toilets don't get clogged anymore (too much TP) and use less bleach when doing the laundry. (Use your imagination)
That is funny. Practical though about the less bleach issue.
arawtgabi less bleach 🤣🤣
Aw dae yee mean they've got shite oan there y-fronts?
arawtgabi
Good point!!!! Hahaaha and yes you save ALOT OF bleach
Great job explaining every step. Thank you for sharing this!!!
My GF worked at a hardware store. They had put together a set up. Since many people would buy a kitchen sink sprayer for this purpose.
Excellent. Love mine and know that so many people would love them if they'd try them out. Of course the very nicest aren't retrofits and can therefore have warm water, but one can get easily used to just cold.
Neat. I could see that becoming a disaster pretty quickly, though. Miss and end up taking a shower instead. Cool to see such a simple solution.
Agreed, and that's not even including the mess made from visiting children from relatives or your own children's friends.
@@MrWirelesscaller You could put toilet paper up for visitors.
Ours came with a seat that fits under the regular seat and has a knob to turn for different areas. Self cleaning, adjustable volume, about $50.
Everything needs some practice, every South-East Asean toilet has this and toilet paper is a want, not a necessity nowaday in that region.
Great to see you back Leah continuing your instructional videos.....
FreshSpa (can find at Home Depot) has one that includes a kit to plumb hot water to it, and it is great. i'll never go back to NOT using one, it's a game changer.
Thanks. The first thing I thought was brrrrrrr. Good to know there is a heated one.
That's the one! That's what I'll be looking for. Thanks!
No point in using cold water.
@@julieankhan.2801 ...exactly.
@@littlepinons What do you think when I confess that near my summerhouse in Finland I go and clean my asshole on my jetty. There is a small 1 km long lake. Sometimes I went there even if the lake was slightly frosen. This is not good for my prostate. Now there is no ice on the lake.
Thanks for making instructions that are clear as day
Trust me...once you try this you will question how you ever lived without it. The bum gun is pure genius.
and this particular design will fit on the Kohler Rafael style one piece toilet unlike the type of bidet that mounts behind the seat. Very nice.
Not practical. Wipe Bum With Toilet Paper Thereafter Wash With Water and Your Hands and Dry With Toilet Paper. Than You Have A Clean Dry Bum.
I twerk after spraying.. No need for toilet paper.. It’s my contribution to the environment..
I keep hearing that
Uber Glamazon ..Yeah, a freezing cold pressure washer up the flange at 7 on a cold winters morning sounds like just the ticket for my 'not a morning person' wife.
Great to have you back, now don’t go anywhere. Happy Spring.
thank you Clint
Leah, your amazing. I have really missed seeing your videos. I have been looking at these, nowi have to get one. Thanks so much. Hope your well.
all is well
Leah, thank you for showing how easy it is to install this sprayer! I enjoy your videos - you are so calm and clear :-)
I installed one of these years ago at a house I have since sold . While a nice accessory, I just couldn't get use to the cold water on by backside so I used it rarely. My wife used it regularly though. Filipinas lile this type of thing.
New subbie, thanks for sharing this and your easy step by step instructions. I’m a recent widow and have to do these things by myself.. I can can do it!
Leah, great to see you back! I have looked at different “add on” bidets, and don’t know which one to choose. Since you’re showing this one, I assume you like this one best. Are there others you recommend?
After seeing them in a hotel in Japan, I got the Toto Jasmine Washlet (model has been renamed). It is about as easy to plumb, and the washer is built into the seat. The only extra step is installing the seat, and hanging the remote control on the wall. Water temperature is adjustable, pressure is adjustable, seat is heated (adjustable), has a blow dryer. Price is a bit of a sticker shock (shop around online), but 17 years later it is still working fine. I have them in two bathrooms, and wish I had them in the other two.
thank you for sharing
Real nice explanation for beginners , I have seen bidet with the water sprayer in the toilet bowl , just have to operate the knob .
The funniest comments I've ever seen on this channel! 😂🤣
In Spain we have a dedicated bidet that has hot and cold taps so that you can get the water temperature 'just right' - as Goldilocks would say.
Just put mine in since we couldn’t find toilet paper anywhere, pretty easy once we figure it out. $60 bucks at Home Depot with free delivery, no previous experience and honestly never done anything like this. Definitely recommend this!
Just realized that's some cold water on my nether regions.
Linda Wisner yes it is. Cold enough to make your eyes cross. In fact it would be good for anyone thinking of this to go to your bathroom sink turn on the cold water and put a finger in the flow.
But soon will be summer and will feel clean
My well is around 50 deg.
Linda Wisner yeah, exactly what I was thinking as she was spraying it into the toilet.😂😬😬
This should come with a warning label..........."CAUTION: MAY CAUSE SEVERE SHRINKAGE IN MALES. DO NOT USE BEFORE SEX."
You are heaven sent this kind of little things will make her happy.
As always good vibes and video!
This woman is ahead of her time! Love it 👍🎖️🤩
Please, Leah please do a video on how to choose lumber. How to choose planks without defects. Thank you
Thank you fir a really easy to follow tutorial, with very clear instructions.
This is my first video of your that I have watched. Going to see what else your channel is about :)
So none of that white plumber tape to ensure a good seal?
Little John Nope, it’s got a rubber gasket for a reason. Tape could get in the way of that seal and prevent proper tightening.
What a pleasure to watch your videos. You are so precise and well-spoken in all of your instructions. And so clever on you $ saving ideas. Sometimes I watch your videos over coffee in the morning just to start my day right with a bit more knowledge on how to improve my living environment. You are truly a gem. Thank You!
Thanks Craig for taking the time to both comment and watch.
You recommend no plumbers tape at the threads ??
Absolutely not. There are rubber gaskets. Other types of lines may use plastic or brass but none take tape.
Love your instructions and voice. You’re awesome. You’ve helped me do a lot of projects.
Only cold water??? No thanks! The shock would kill me.
geocarey You get used to it. I tried cold showers a while back and ended up walking right in ice cold. I stopped because my skin didn’t cooperate.
And you still need toilet paper because you bum is all wet.
Living in CO, hot water is a must. Good thing I am a plumber, and my basement bath sisters the furnace (mech) room. Was able to access hot water from lav. (Sink). Helps when in cold climates, and with hemorrhoids. Nice to see uploads again Leah, thanks!
man when that cold water hits my man berries, ima hit the ceiling !!!
@@kicks2fast That goes without saying :)
were in the process of putting one in. thank you for your video. looks easy very helpful.
I do have a bidet in both my bathrooms . The one thing I don’t like about the wand you show is that it sprays everywhere. I went online and got Bio Bidets and the thing I love about these, everything goes into the toilet and no where else. It’s also a self cleaning bidet. It took all of 15 minutes to put in place. No having to empty tank. It’s just an easier method. Everyone should have a bidet!!!
I’ve wanted something like this forever, thank you!
That type is known in Arabic as a Shattaf. Which I have always thought strangely appropriate.
Thanks for the clear instructions :). I am a 16 year old trying to go zero/low-waste. Very helpful :)

My old boss had the under seat version.. Only problem was, every morning when I went to use the toilet, the sprayer always had shit splatter all over it! 😬 Needless to say I never used it, I was just too grossed out by it.
Joshua...thank you for your observation...I was thinking that it must be unsanitary...
@@joanalcala7303 yes!🙃
Haha
I fitted one of these a year ago....haven’t used toilet paper since !.
Here in Australia we have water saving devices everywhere, which includes the toilet, 2 litre flush. They work beautifully, except....our toilet design is different. The target area (actual water in the bowl) is much smaller and sometimes you get some “spoils” on the side of the bowl. This sprayer is great for washing it off, eliminating the need for a toilet brush..
