They loved it so I started to use the one off my bedroom. Felt so fresh and clean afterwards. Have wanted one ever since. And yes, it pretty much eliminates the need for toilet paper 🧻 (so much nice , hygienic and clean...not to mention environmentally better). 👍🏼

    I changed out my bathroom sink for an in cabinet laundry tub for double duty as my washer is in my bathroom. It has the sprayer on the sink and it's on the same side as my toilet. I looked at it thought, wow, I could use that as a bidet, It works! I can water mix to get warm water but the cold water is fine. It has been in use for 4 years so far and no issue. After watching your tutorial and such an easy install, I'm thinking of getting the real deal, thanks.

    Best practice: Inspect the mating surfaces of the connector and the washer. I found out the hard way that factory debris can get on the surfaces and cause leaks. I thought I bought a bad water supply line for my water heater. Replace the cheap black washers (if replaceable) with the stronger orange washers. The black washers will soften over time and cause leaks - another 'found out the hard way'.

    Nice. I do the install off the shower head so that they can have warm or hot water. I can also put in an undersink small warm water tank with an adjustable setting so warm/hot water is always on demand. So far, this year, only one lady has inquired about it in my more than 50 toilet service calls. I might start advertising the options on Craigslist or other media. It should be an easy sale.

    I have a bidet add-on that fits under the toilet seat. It seems much easier to use than this hose. I’m afraid I would accidentally spray this all over the bathroom. The under seat units include optional settings for men and women. Mine uses cloud water only as well. I was concerned about that before I used it. Actually it is quite refreshing and not a problem. One uses less toilet paper and gets cleaner. In my opinion a bidet is a wonderful feature.

    Hi Leah. It's been a while since we last saw you. I hope you're well. Once again an interesting and useful video. Perhaps, with your emphasis on beginners to DIY, you should go over some of the basics that real beginners need to learn. Even down to how to correctly measure and cut wood accurately. I've seen many disasters caused by poor measurement, and even more caused by poor saw/cutting techniques.

    Thank you Jane. I put mine in last year and love it. We know when someone yells a little from the bathroom in the winter they are feelin' fresh from the cold water. Also with the longish hose it reaches over to the tub when we want to rinse it down after a bath.

    • @Palmetto-J
      @Palmetto-J 5 лет назад

    • @sheri023
      @sheri023 5 лет назад

      Hi, Cylkree, the hose lets you direct the water to the sides of the tub, also the hose water can reach high up the wall where the shower head cannot be directed easily (in a combo bath-shower) without splashing everywhere like a shower head would do. Great for rinsing the soap after scrubbing down the shower wall too without getting yourself wet.

  • @jdshear01
    @jdshear01 5 лет назад +2

    Very common to see this in India and places outside of the US. They are hygienic and very environmentally friendly to minimize the usage of extra products such as toilet paper. Most foreigners to the US are actually disgusted that your rear end isn't washed by water after you do your business each time! Some folks also have a floor drain in the bathroom and use it to clean their shoes (such as sandals) and to wash their feet. It would be cool to see the trend grow here to minimize waste and maximize our efficiency as care takers of the planet.

      After seeing them in a hotel in Japan, I got the Toto Jasmine Washlet (model has been renamed). It is about as easy to plumb, and the washer is built into the seat. The only extra step is installing the seat, and hanging the remote control on the wall. Water temperature is adjustable, pressure is adjustable, seat is heated (adjustable), has a blow dryer. Price is a bit of a sticker shock (shop around online), but 17 years later it is still working fine. I have them in two bathrooms, and wish I had them in the other two.

    In Spain we have a dedicated bidet that has hot and cold taps so that you can get the water temperature 'just right' - as Goldilocks would say.

    • @bnjmnlmbrt18

      Little John Nope, it’s got a rubber gasket for a reason. Tape could get in the way of that seal and prevent proper tightening.

    I do have a bidet in both my bathrooms . The one thing I don’t like about the wand you show is that it sprays everywhere. I went online and got Bio Bidets and the thing I love about these, everything goes into the toilet and no where else. It’s also a self cleaning bidet. It took all of 15 minutes to put in place. No having to empty tank. It’s just an easier method. Everyone should have a bidet!!!

    I fitted one of these a year ago....haven’t used toilet paper since !.
    Here in Australia we have water saving devices everywhere, which includes the toilet, 2 litre flush. They work beautifully, except....our toilet design is different. The target area (actual water in the bowl) is much smaller and sometimes you get some “spoils” on the side of the bowl. This sprayer is great for washing it off, eliminating the need for a toilet brush..
