    I SO appreciate how you take the time to be so informative. The history lesson was really interesting!
    My dad propped his first pineapple maybe 8 years ago and now our SoCal backyard has about 30 plants. The original plant (and it’s offspring) have produced so many offsets that it’s overflowing and bursting out of a 48” pot. He will sometimes have up to 10 pineapple growing simultaneously in that pot because of how many offsets there are! They take time but are sooo fun to grow.

    I grew a pineapple plant from the top of a pineapple I got from the grocery store. When you peel the bottom leaves sometimes you will already find little roots that have developed. If I remember correctly it took three years from the time it rooted to when it produced fruit. I grew it indoors by a very sunny window. Very fun to watch the process, the flowers are beautiful, and seeing them morph and fuse into a tasty fruit is quite amazing.

    I love the history lesson at the beginning. Thank you
    Your pineapple look nice.
    You should not be worried about pesticides because it’s skin is thick enough to prevent the plant from absorbing pesticides harmful enough

    What a fun video!! I have never tried to grow a pineapple plant, but now I’m curious! I’m in Pennsylvania though so I don’t know if it would ever produce fruit since our winter gets so cold. But, it’s definitely something to try!
    You guys are so cute together and I’m jelly that your husband will be in videos with you! I’ve only gotten my mom and my oldest son to be in a video with me…

    After several attempts, I finally got a pineapple top to grow roots this year. It's now potted in soil and sitting in a south-facing window - seems healthy. I'm in Canada so I figure getting it to even root was a feat in itself, lol. Your pineapple is so cute and looked delicious! xo

    So the pineapples from the grocery store does not have pesticides?

    • @sarahg2665
      @sarahg2665 Год назад +4

      They do, unless they’re organic, but the pesticides used for edible produce are supposed to be safe for human consumption once the fruit/veg has been harvested.

    • @reallybigplant

      yes thank you for answering sarah! 💜🤗 I also don’t know for sure that the pineapple i got from home depot had anything extra bad or different than what they use on food crops, but since wasn’t sold as food Im not sure if it was regulated to the same standards as groceries are.
      Thanks so much for watching! Have a great week 😊💜🍍✨

    It's a crime you didn't finish it 🙊 please surrender yourself to the nearest farmers market. I had a big beautiful pineapple plant that got frost bitten when southern cali got really cold one winter. I'd grown it from a store bought pineapple, so I cut off the damage and kept it. After 2 more years it didn't fruit so I ripped it up because I was tired of getting poked 😂😂😂 they're SHARP SHARP and the tips are serrated like a knife!
