Would you ever consider doing a video about skincare for construction workers or people who work in the sun and sweat a lot? I'm a female construction worker and I find it difficult to deal with trying to reapply sunscreen when I don't have access to running water so my hands are covered in dirt and grime and honestly sometimes so is my face. Also just the sweat in the humid heat seems to exacerbate breakouts. I know this isn't the most common problem but figured I'd ask.
I would also appreciate a video like that! But I have a couple of tips in the meantime. I would in manufacturing w/o any ac. We are constantly covered in dust and paper fiber in a paper converting plant. I keep those individual Neutrogena face wipes in my lunch cooler so I can wipe down and reapply sunblock during breaks. The cold wipe feels great and wipes the grime/dirt off so ur not wiping dirt all around when u reapply sunblock. I also keep a couple of nitrile gloves in my pocket so I can reapply without worrying about how nasty my hand is when I touch my face. We keep the Equate brand SPF with a pump around so u can pump out on to ur gloved hand rather than getting ur hands all greasy. Plus it's only like 11ish dollars for a huge jug! I'm going to be honest. I have had bad body odor for the majority of my life and it was very embarrassing. I first started hearing about using benzoyl peroxide and acids under your pits 2 years ago. I first started with benzoyl peroxide and it actually helped with reducing the bacteria under my pits hence no stinky pits. I was so happy. I stopped using it there because it would only last for a day maybe 2. What I use now is the ingrown hair wipes from first aid beauty. I use 1 pad (1 side on each pit), let it dry, then follow up with vanicream antiperspirant. I use the pads once every 2 weeks so that 30 day supply lasts me a long time. It ranges from 70-90 degrees where Im at, I work in a humid/hot work environment and I do not stink. I hope this helps someone.
For those who are doubtful about the feminine wash guidance, check out ob/gyn channels like Dr. Jennifer Lincoln (who has videos on what to use in that area and what not to use in that area). There's also ob/gyn Mama Doctor Jones.
I'd be interested in an updated hyperhidrosis video. Mine is pretty mild, and isn't embarrassing as I know it can be for people with more severe cases, but it's still very annoying to deal with, especially if you're sensitive to texture differences like I am.
benzoyl peroxide cleanser for deodorizing the underarms is such a helpful trick, i've been doing it (few times a week at most) for a couple years now thanks to you!
Me too. I also use it on my groin, and it has the same effect. No ingrown or irritated hairs as a bonus for both areas! Dr. Dray eliminating the funk, one video at a time. 👌🏼👏🏼
Looks like there is an entire army of Dr Dray viewers who are 'stanky free' because of her suggestions.. PanOxyl has been added to my arsenal, decades after any acne worries!
Hello! I had written in one of your posts on Instagram that I had been getting contact dermatitis off of deodorant. I like aluminum, and I will say the natural deodorants are ROUGH. The baking soda really irritated my skin too. It was suggested from another doc (first one said try natural) that I try dove unscented antiperspirant and it’s incredible!!! So I’m in total agreeance that fragrance can be such a terrible irritant as well as natural deodorants!!
I developed allergies to anti-perspirants a long time ago, then fragranced deodorants followed. The "natural" products were somewhat irritating and did nothing to control odor. Nothing worse than a red, burning & itchy rash in the middle of summer. :-( Per your video a couple of years ago, I've been using Panoxyl in the shower which really helps and doesn't bother my sensitive skin, even after shaving. :)
Vanicream deodorant is the best for extremely sensitive skin. I'm severely allergic to the "paraben free " products and don't use fragrance skincare in pretty much all of my skincare.
Have been using the solid version of the crystal deodorant (looks like a giant rounded salt crystal, bc it is!) since 2007 bc my skin was getting irritated by fragrance. Have only had to buy it three times since then, each stick lasts for ever, which makes me happy bc so much less waste! It doesn't stop sweat at all, but if applied correctly it completely knocks out odor, love it!
What worked best in my household for eliminating stinky feet was changing over to wool blend socks instead of cotton. They are breathable, naturally wicking, and odor proof. Smartwool, Darn Tough, and Sockwell socks, Love them!
Thanks for this! As a vet tech at a large and small animal hospital, it's very easy for me to work up a sweat especially when dealing with large animals outside in the heat. And then have to continue to work and finish a shift while worrying what I must smell like. Lol! I need all the tips I can get. Happy Friday, Dr Dray!! I hope you, your sweet momma and little Tybee have a lovely weekend. 💜
At what point does anyone justify paying $10-$15 for deodorant? This inflation is absurd. Places like CVS and Walgreens is almost always 20-30% higher too.
I use the Walgreens store brand version of Hibiclens fairly often since I have Hidradenitis Suppurativa. I get the bottle that has the foaming pump because the liquid is a pain to use (it just runs everywhere and you end up using more than you really need) but the foam is easy to use. The generic is also dye-free so it's less likely to stain your tub, shower curtain, etc.
I can't use aluminum antiperspirants because the glands swell up and I walk around with my arms out. So I'm happy for alternatives but be careful to rinse off benzoyl peroxide. It discolors some dyes in clothing. Found out the hard way.
Tried Panoxyl on my pits but I’ve always been so irritated by Benzoil Peroxide. Been personally finding success double washing with CeraVe foaming cleanser and Laroche Posay Lipikar wash
Has the panoxyl worked out for you? The benzoyl peroxide gave me the WORST irritation to my pits! No odor but it took hydrocortisone a few times daily for a week to get rid of this awful rash!
Just started to watch this video, I’m in Florida right now and it’s so humid and sweaty here this is good video to watch. Dr Dray you always come through with the best video, perfect timing haha thanks Dr Dray 💙💛
About the sunscreen game… I got burned, I guess Miami was very slick, Dr dray what your recommendation for back burn??? And shoulder, I kind of forgot to reapply on my back and stayed in ocean for too long ❤️🔥
Hyperhydrosis is awful. Interferes with work and life. So embarrassing during an interview. Mine worst on scalp and groin. Currently on glycopyrolate. Helps somewhat but not without side effects- constipation, dry eyes, dry mouth. Hibiclens works amazing for me in the armpits!!
I use Crystal Stick and find it to be very effective. I'm not a very smelly person though, but I really like it. I've been using it for years and it's hands down my favorite. Pro tip - I use it after I shower. I don't dry my underarms and just use the moisture that's already there to apply the stick. Afterwards, I rinse off the stick! That's very important because the stick can take on body odors over time, rendering it ineffective. So you really have to rinse it _afterwards!_
@@cherihibbs8368That's an interesting experience. I know sometimes it doesn't slide easily if my underarms aren't wet, but after I use it, there's not residue left. What do you mean by "glued them down"? Does the product leave a sticky residue for you after you use it?
Yep! Hyperhydrosis here. I've currently started taking a medication to help with it and it's working pretty well! It doesn't get rid of it completely but as long as I stay on top of taking the medication on time everyday, it does work. Thank you so much for your videos Dr. Drayton! I've been watching since about 2017 and I've learned so much from you. Keep up the great work!
I’ve been putting cerave renewing sa cream in my armpits every morning before I go to work as a morning stocker. I work hard and sweat like crazy, but because of putting the cream on my arm pits there is no smell! And I have no discomfort, I don’t mind sweating I just don’t want to stink! Lol plus I use hypochlorous spray if I can’t get home soon enough for a shower right after work.
The smell is what becomes the biggest problem, we start out thinking AH the sweat but oh no no no its OMFG the SMELL. Especially if you have hyperhydrosis. I have the SA cream, I bought it for my husband's bumpy skin caused by Sweat, I will try it!
Yes Chlorhexidine! I have suffered from HS for 38 years. I have some great tricks for HS folks and this soap. I am not confident enough to make my own video. I do wish there was more info available for teenage and 20 something folks, so they can get treatment earlier
Thank you Dr.Auchi for making my life healthy once again, I’m excited to be cure permanently from Tmau odor disease after suffering from it for the past few year. OMG the prices scare me 😱 Those prices are insane in your country!!! 🤷♀ I live in the Netherlands and they are way cheaper over here 🙃 Thanks for explaining it so clearly darling!!! 💯🙏🏻🥳
PS Thanks for the benzo peroxide tips in another vid, and the Almay recc here. Benzo worked like a charm, i just do it 3x a week now, and almay sweatproofed my big interview today, with no irritation at all! Now i feel silly for not realizing it was fragrance-triggered. OP: For years, I used secret clinical until it turned on me very suddenly and caused unceasing, severe itching. I switched to natural for a few weeks, but ever since, any anti perspirants, even gentle + unscented, cause immediate irritation. Going to experiment with the bacteria killing regimen, while I still can. My current job is very much a natural deodorant kinda place and everyone is a little funky at the end of physical days, but mostly we're fine. But I need to find a new job with more hours and most of the options are not hippy dippy kinda places lol...thanks for the good ideas (and ideas for my young adult child's stocking, altho now I m realizing nope, cuz you shud never give unsolicited criticism as a gift, even if well intentioned, especially as a parent...Will casually drop items in basket during the Xmas week stock-up-the-kid Costco and Walmart trip...)
I am writing from south Africa, am very happy with the result i got with Dr okouromi natural product no side effect best treatment for Trimethylaminuria problem..🌼🌻🌼🌻❤🎉😂😂❤😂
Panoxyl has been great for my armpits! I've never been a crazy sweater or anything but it works for me! Literally just recommended it to my mom on the phone 15 minutes ago.
The BEST of all time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m so allergic to deodorants/antiperspirants! Almay is my bae 💀 I order multiples at once!
Thank you for this video I just recently Found this and used the first aide antiseptic since I had it on hand and it works!!!!! I have dry skin but during the summer BO is real and this did not dry my skin or irritate me. I am in the south and it is getting to warm to be struggling with BO. Definitely feel more comfortable and feel my antiperspirant is working better!❤
I just wanted to thank you for sharing your input. At least 3 times a year I suffer from underarm boils. Besides getting them lanced and using hot compress, I decided to use the 10 percent benzoyl peroxide. I just learned something new today. Thanks 👍
I suffer from hyperhidrosis since my teens years, now I’m in my 40’s. I started using Dermadry and it’s helped me a lot. My sweating has diminished a lot.
Hyperhydrosis here, I use deodorant all over my body. Specifically my groin/private area/inside of thighs, lower back, under chest, and sometimes upper back. I use the unscented vanicream one and it works wonders without irritation.
dr dray, you didn't mention the crystal deodorant that was right there! it's fragrance free and a good option for people that are looking for something "natural". i have hyperhydrosis under the armpits and the main thing that helps me is applying the certaindri roll-on at night and washing with fragrance free body wash (fragrances seem to make the smell worse) but i do find the crystal deodorant works pretty well too :) also i'm gonna buy that benzoyl peroxide bar soap, i don't like that panoxyl doesn't lather enough it's more like a cream
Hi, I also have hyperhydrosis and use the crystal, while it does help a tad.. I found it doesnt to all that much for sweating but for bacteria I like it. I Also use carbolic soap to help with the bacteria that is created.. I actually hate the "stress" sweat smell. It reminds me of a cat... THAT is worse than the actual sweating. I wash a few times a day. I found that most pit sticks make the sweating worse, or it seems to make any smell way worse. I am terrified of going the Botox route. I think there is a pill option available but the Drs. up here never mention anything...Maybe ask your dr. I fully empathize with you, it's been hell for me..since I was 12 and I am 35.
Hi Dr. Dray Thank you so much for always taking the time to make this videos.. I have so many questions that I don't even know where to start but today I just want to said thank you because, you your video are helping me to deal with my issues lol and my kids ❤

Walgreens is a scam. Their “deals” are buy one get one %50 off but they sell their products for at least %50 more than they retail at pretty much any other retailer. I just checked and the Aveeno body wash is $17 at walgreen and $10 at Walmart for exact same product and amount. So even buy “buy one get %50 off” is still more expensive than purchasing two at a different retailer. I don’t understand how they stay in business. Oh, btw, you have to be a “member” to get any of their “deals”. No thanks.
I suffer from hyperhidrossis. I use certain dri ( roll on) at night. and for my hands Carpe lotion. I also like to spray my feet with hypochlorous spray (It doesn't help with sweat but prevents you from smelling and refreshes feet when wearing sandals)
Since I couldn't find a benzoyl peroxide and it's a bit expensive, I tried anti-bacterial hand soap. Only in my underarms. It's still mild enough but it worked for me. The rest for my body is mild body wash 🤣 I'm so cheap. I don't care 😆
Thank you for this video Dr. Dray. For many reasons, I have to shower in the morning rather than the evening. What is the best approach with antiperspirant in this case? Thank you!
Hi Dr. Dray! Any chance you could turn on closed captions for those of us who are hearing impaired followers of yours? I’ve learned so much from you. Thank you for taking your time to share your knowledge with us! ❤️
Greetings Dr. Dray hope u r well n 🖐Hello Every1 n Happy Friday😀n what a Wonderful Vid…. thanks n This is Gonna B so Helpful🔥👍n Continued Blessings to All💜….
I'm weird. I always use a mild bar soap (like Ivory) on what I think of as the "hot spots" - armpits, groin, feet. Then I'll use a pouf with body wash all over my body for the smell and milder wash.
I've been using baking soda in my armpits after a shower and it keeps my body odor away for days. I haven't tried peroxide but will. I also like the clinical anti perspirants.
Oh please switch! Ive been on baking soda for years and just this past few months Ive developed sensitivity to it (developed rash smells, etc) apparently baking soda had thrown off the ph levels of my pits. Baking soda is never suitable for armpits at all!

Unrelated request Dr Dray. Would love to have your recommendations on an affordable lotions for the body that will fade age spots and sun damage. I wish I could turn back the clock!!!
Hello, lovely lady! I’ve been missing a few of your videos lately 🙁I’ll be catching up as time allows. I have the sweatiest feet, ever (with no odor- seriously, it’s never been a problem). It’s more annoying than anything. I have to change my socks twice a day, even in cold weather. Once my feet are damp, they get really cold, so it’s the first thing I do when I get home. I started using your tip about applying antiperspirant after showering, before bed, but stopped for some reason. I’ll begin again tonight. BTW, you look wonderful! Have a nice weekend🌞
I've found with feminine wash, using it all over the body and really focusing it in on the inner thighs, butt, under arms and pubic area as well as just the OUTSIDE of your lady bits gets the job done. I like to wash all over with feminine wash AFTER scrubbing my entire body with a good antibacterial bar soap (I prefer dove antibacterial). I don't like washing with heavy scents so the dove antibacterial is perfect, then go in with a feminine wash of your choice, I prefer nothing too intense. Especially not any fruity or floral scents. Just keep it simple.
Hello Dr. Dray, thank you for the video. Dropping gems as always. For some people, myself included, why does our underarms start to adjust to the deodorant and then it starts making our pitts stink? Even when we scrubbbbbbbbb the heck out our underarms? I personally stopped using antiperspirants and natural deodorants. I switch between mineral rock, lemons and aloe Vera gel.
Very true I’m currently using a cream prescribed by my doctor to kill the fungus and I just use magnesium spray, because once I put on any kind of deo I start to smell musty after a few hours, I struggle so much
Can you actually list the steps in what to do here? Ive heard you say to put the antiperspirant on at night. Got it. Do you wash with PanOxyl first then deodorant? Wake up in the morning, shower and......put more antiperspirant on? With a little moisturizer because the PanOxyl is drying? I generally shower in the morning and understand the mechanism of why you want the antiperspirant on at night. Can you clarify the order in which to do these things?
Hibiclens (chlorhexadine gluconate) is also good for HS and killing microbes in smelly areas. You’re supposed to lather with it and leave it in place for 2 minutes and then rinse.
@@Aurora-Sky Hidradenitis suppurativa (hi-drad-uh-NIE-tis sup-yoo-ruh-TIE-vuh) is a condition that causes small, painful lumps to form under the skin. The lumps usually develop in areas where your skin rubs together, such as the armpits, groin, buttocks and breasts.
I am so sweaty! I obey your advice and use aluminum antiperspirant at night. It works well! But I have a problem with my sweaty labia. It drives me crazy. Is botox the only solution?
I hear you! I try and bathe at night. It helps a bit. Cause it’s soaking. Also my dr recommended dove sensitive skin bar soap. It has helped. My issue is I swear right there on my thighs. I do put deo there’s sometimes. I am going to go and purchase some of these items she mentioned today. She is great! Thankful for her.
Dr Dray .....I wanna know YOUR advice on what products to use that will ACTUALLY REMOVE DEODORANT when washing your body .......for years I found it so extremely hard .....it seemed like no matter what.....there was always that slick feeling still under my arms even fresh out the shower .......I know what I use now and what works for me but what would YOU suggest??? (P.S. I have to use ALOT of deodorant and that makes it that much harder to completely wash it away )
I like the advice of an oil cleanser. I personally use a gentle exfoliating scrub. Yep, everyday. Don’t use too much pressure and damage the sensitive skin there…did that once. Follow up with whatever soap I’m using at the moment on a washcloth. I’ve never felt better about completely removing the deodorant from under my arms.
Glad to see some of you guys giving feedback on this. I personally find that castile soap with a good exfoliating wash cloth works GREAT too!!! And every other day I use a body scrub on there before washing with the castile soap.....See I KNEW I wasn't the only one that goes crazy putting on my deodorant 😂😂😂😂😂

Yes they are I’m currently using magnesium spray with a prescribed cream to kill the fungus from my armpits, as I hate to say but no deo works for me at the moment
about sweating. gosh how much I sweat even putting the antiperspirant at night. washing regularly and it is uuh. ESPECIALLY i noticed now as as back to the office. when I am arround colleagues my armpits become a fountain. not sure if it is about stress
I suffer from excessive sweating. It's horrible and such an annoyance! I carry 2 handkerchiefs everytime I go out. One for the go and the other for the coming back home. One handkerchief isn't enough for me. I have a collection of handkerchiefs at home because I use too many. It's awful! 😢
I’m so sorry!! I also suffer from excessive sweating and have tried a million products that didn’t seem to work. Until I tried The Duradry system which gave me great results. By this time I had already ordered the Dermadry device, which is a little expensive but works!!! Try Duradry first which is less expensive, you won’t regret it 😉

Hi Dr. Dray, I love my hypochlorous spray, but I noticed it makes my armpits smell worse if I spray it when I’ve been sweating a lot (usually when I’ve been on the treadmill). Is that typical?
A lot of natural deodorants also contain baking soda which can be irritating depending on the amount/concentration. If you can tolerate baking soda, then it is a great deodorant, maybe necessitating reapplication after 4 hours which works well if you have an 8-hour workday.
I've once used "natural" deodorant and got rashes (I know, so silly of me to believe that baking soda and essential oil is a good idea). Ever since then, my armpit that got the rash smells! I've never had bad odor from armpit in my life before! It's been two years now.
I have hyperhidrosis. I use the Almay sensitive skin as a base then I’ll use a dove for further protection and while it does work pretty good I’m still not comfortable when I’m out or around people. My inner thighs sweat like crazy. The V 🥵 I have to use products down there because it’s legit like armpits! 🤦🏻♀️ it’s truly crippling to live with.
Me too. What helped me is switching to cotton fabrics. Most clothes now a days are polyester which makes things worse. Read the labels and go for a higher cotton fabrics. Specially your underwear. It makes a huge difference, also don't be afraid to carry an extra pair with you. Just saying .
Panoxyl has been wonderful for me since your suggested it. It's been working for me for almost a year. I use LUME deodorant and the combination leave me with no funk!
Dr Dray, I have hyperhydrosis so I’m always looking for effective products to keep BO at bay. I’m in Australia and we have to buy Panoxyl internationally as it’s not sold locally, I can’t get my hands on the 10% cream cleanser only the 10% foaming cleanser - will this matter? Thankyou

Same thing happened to me. I use panoxyl and use vanicream deodorant now and I'm good to go! It's free of like everything
Vanicream deodorant is the best for extremely sensitive skin. I'm severely allergic to the "paraben free " products and don't use fragrance skincare in pretty much all of my skincare.
@@katydid5088 Yes, Vanicream makes a very good deodorant and is gentle on sensitive skin.
Same here😢
Have been using the solid version of the crystal deodorant (looks like a giant rounded salt crystal, bc it is!) since 2007 bc my skin was getting irritated by fragrance. Have only had to buy it three times since then, each stick lasts for ever, which makes me happy bc so much less waste! It doesn't stop sweat at all, but if applied correctly it completely knocks out odor, love it!
I also love it, I have been using it for years
I used one for years & it worked great! I have a sensitivity to aluminum chlorhydrate....so I avoid it like the plague.
Aren’t deodorant crystals made of potassium alum, a salt mineral that is a type of aluminum?
What worked best in my household for eliminating stinky feet was changing over to wool blend socks instead of cotton. They are breathable, naturally wicking, and odor proof. Smartwool, Darn Tough, and Sockwell socks, Love them!
I love my darn tough sock 😁 ever since switching to wool socks I no longer get chilblains
Good to know. I always make sure i buy cotton but i will give these a try. Thanks for sharing.
Swear by wool socks!
Good to know, thank you!
This works! But also to keep nails short, to wash well in the shower morning and night, and to exfoliate so that skin isn’t being built up.
Places like CVS and Walgreens is almost always 20-30% higher too.
it’s ridiculous! target and walmart tend to have cheaper prices tho
Do u use it daily (twice a day)?
I don’t have HS but certain Dri is the only brand that I feel works for me.
I can't use aluminum antiperspirants because the glands swell up and I walk around with my arms out. So I'm happy for alternatives but be careful to rinse off benzoyl peroxide. It discolors some dyes in clothing. Found out the hard way.
Yes, my poor towels 😪
I use Dial antibacterial bar and have been very happy with the results and it doesn't bleach!
Tried Panoxyl on my pits but I’ve always been so irritated by Benzoil Peroxide. Been personally finding success double washing with CeraVe foaming cleanser and Laroche Posay Lipikar wash
Thanks for sharing this 👍🏼
Try the 2.5% strength. It’s made by the brand acne free
Has the panoxyl worked out for you? The benzoyl peroxide gave me the WORST irritation to my pits! No odor but it took hydrocortisone a few times daily for a week to get rid of this awful rash!

Hi Dr. Dray. I use the Walgreens Acne Cleanser bar and have eliminated the need for deodorant, thanks to your good advice. Thank you.
Thanks for tip..
I tried this but it was like glue on my arm pits.. what was i doing wrong?
@@cherihibbs8368 Glue? Try wetting the crystal before applying it. Just make sure you don't forget to rinse it afterwards!
@@GpD79 , I did wet it, I ran it under the faucet. If I hadn’t kept my arms up I think it would have glued them down.

Wow, your skin is just glowing here. Thank you for this content.
Yep! Hyperhydrosis here. I've currently started taking a medication to help with it and it's working pretty well! OP: For years, I used secret clinical until it turned on me very suddenly and caused unceasing, severe itching. Hi ! I'm hypetdrosis survivor the cream odor buster and antiperspirant causes infection down there
dr dray, you didn't mention the crystal deodorant that was right there! it's fragrance free and a good option for people that are looking for something "natural". i have hyperhydrosis under the armpits and the main thing that helps me is applying the certaindri roll-on at night and washing with fragrance free body wash (fragrances seem to make the smell worse) but i do find the crystal deodorant works pretty well too :) also i'm gonna buy that benzoyl peroxide bar soap, i don't like that panoxyl doesn't lather enough it's more like a cream

No thanks.

Same. We wash around and not inside it helps!
Using an antibacterial soap on your whole body is a terrible idea. You have a microbiome on your skin that you're obliterating

Wake up in the morning, shower and......put more antiperspirant on? With a little moisturizer because the PanOxyl is drying? I generally shower in the morning and understand the mechanism of why you want the antiperspirant on at night. Can you clarify the order in which to do these things?
