In most scenarios where you would use a chisel, you need it to have a perfect flat back side. And the cutting edge must be a perfect straight line. To sharp a piece of metal up to the point where it shaves hair is not what is important, important is to sharp it in the configuration i just told. If you give the face a too sharp angle it will bend the edges when cutting against fibers. So you have to keep that in mind too. Depends for what you using it. Also when forming the angle on the tip, you must never burn the metal, always keep it cool, because it will soften the tip. You can buy one of those hand belt sanders, you can flat the belly and give the edge angle and do the rest of the wetstone. You can also use 700-800-1000, and i would say 1500 is overkill sandpaper too. For me 1000 is enough, i stop there because the rest is pointless. Also, there is no point, unless you're filimg a ytube video to polish the chisels to mirror, it will rust anyway. You can tell if a steel is poor for chisels when your sharpen it, if it forms a bur wich is hard to get rid of that metal is soft.
It’s amazing how beautiful the metal is under the surface of old tools, thanks for showing us!
I agree thank you

I agree with you I didn't make it for work. this is just an exhibit that I made with my own hands Thanks for the comment )
Two questions: 1. Does it hold an edge and 2. Files tend to be brittle - did you think to temper it? Looks good though.
I did the same with my window bar
