Convergences is what I personally want to see added in every Gw2 expansion going forward; it's the type of content that really makes Anet shine; and even better that you add dynamism to it with weather, different bosses, objectives, etc. Bring it on!
I am curious to see how the Raid and Convergence will differ, and how Anet works to make all the content feel enjoyable and not repetitive with the same enemies. I really hope that this Raid leads to more Raids in the future.
We love to see it! ❤ Really smart move to make all the different variations for the group content, so people can pick difficulty and vibe based on preference or current mood. ^^
@@RedNuii I mean them making all the different variations of the somewhat same underlying content/bosses as they did say already before JW launch to do. I mean the raid having different versions/difficulties and this sort of being the large scale content version of it. :)
@@NightRavvvven I think that's the point - introducing players to raid mechanics using a format where the social pressure of raiding is removed. Once those players are comfortable knowing what to expect, they can try the more complex versions in raids, except they don't have to feel as self-conscious about being a "noob" to the encounter. They're more confident, which makes them more likely to try more endgame content, which makes them more likely to convert to veteran/long-time players. I think it's a smart move - I just hope it actually works. Raids are super fun and challenging, and I hope this brings more people to them.
@@al3x3691I hope every raid has convergence version for public after JW storyline finished like when we get lwss1 after EoD. I tried raids with my guildmates a couple times and even though we know each other, it’s still so much pressure not to make a single mistake. I do love them and can clear some of it, but casual raid really could help out a lot.
How does this work? Do you have to manually find 50 people using LFG, or is there an option to queue up and have a group created automatically? (Please tell me it’s the easy option!)
I imagine it will be like the Kryptis Convergences where there is the option of a Public lobby that spawns on a timer and a Private lobby (LFG-style) that will be always available!
ye, there's a very easy option, every 3h you just click join when the public convergence is open and do it with everyone else who'll join in, basically like a huge instance meta event
I'm willing to give these a try but I feel like it may have been a mistake to base the new raid AND the new convergence on the same 2 enemies that feature in a meta that usually fails or is ignored b/c people don't like/understand the mechanics. It *could* be a good way to teach/drive home the mechanics...or it could be an exercise in frustration trying to find people that understand these particular enemies and don't mind fighting them. Praying it works out.
imo raids will be done non the less if its tough enough as you said or tricky enough it will be like w5/6 raiding where you pretty much only get in with alot of kp so that sucks for new people when joining later on into the dlc or next dlcs etc, convergence theres a ''open lobby'' convergence every couple hours so that will always be played imo hell theres still a dedicated guild running things like marionette etc
That's the problem with this. SotO Convergence ends as soon as all the champions and the boss is killed. Some of the possible events looks like busy work based on hauling cargo with mounts, which is a mechanic I don't like since it punishes players who are good at mount maneuverability.
I think it's more like BS than actual content forward. 99% of players just autoattack a trillion HP boss which is static and lifeless. The "contents" are just 'to do stuff' rather than real stories to tell. And every new relic and stuff only makes the balance worse.
@@porecemusnox8805 Critique is still valid. Release of "Into the Spider's Lair" was pure aneurysm, and made me despise a lot of people. I sincerely hope it will be good content
The changing ''weather'' looks really really nice - 0:22 - I love how it goes beyond the typical 4-season-style cycle and adds at least 2 more
I wonder, if the weather refers to type of titan boss that will appear
@@artinyxxiveluswyzzol9918it will probably modify their mechanic/numbers. Also they said it will change the path we take through the mountains with different obstacles in each path
Same, the regular ones are necessary of course, but when they go beyond that it's when they're really cooking with flavor and love.

very intrigued how far they lean into it being one of the kodan stories, leaves a lot of room for creative adjustments to actual story event
I kinda hope they add Big Queen strike as well. We already have a kodan telling her story to cubs around the fire.

I don’t think the path is pickable, I have a feeling it’s random
We are not gonna be able to choose the type. Just like soto's convergente bosses, it'll be random.
