- Strong Winds and hot temperatures are expected to hinder efforts to fight a massive brush fire burning near Gorman Monday.

It didn't just happen. Our local mechanic shop had a vehicle catch fire and that got quickly out of control because it's very windy.

Yikes. Trying to fight a fire that's sending hot embers a mile away, starting new fires. The fire crews certainly have a challenge!

I heard it was maroons at McDonalds with fireworks. Haven’t heard if it was intentional or ignorance. Regardless, it is also hot, dry and windy.
Nor Cal, long ways from this fire but the wind is really strong here also, all night things were banging around. When it blows like this the fire tends to have it's own way .
Especially when people start the fires in order to destroy the economy to buy the land

People need to be careful with cigarettes, camp fire and or anything that can start a fire. If not this what happens. It’s a tough job for fire fighters and it also affects residents living close to the fire.

I swear it's the same thing by reporters each time they report. She talking 2 day old crap that is not news it's history. Why not get in front of the fire and do some real stuff.
Because wildfires are not a spectator sport, and Because with 50 mph gusts starting spot fires a mile away greatly increases the chance of being trapped between flame fronts.Go watch the WFSTAR documentary on South Canyon or the WFSTAR official report on Yarnell Hill and you can get a good idea of what high winds can do.They are both on YT,free to watch.
