Get this. In a few bases in California C-130s sit loaded and ready to launch to fight the fires, BUT THEY WONT! Why??? Because CalFire will not make the request of the Governor until the exhausted their budget so they can justify their budget for next year. SICK!
I remember a famous quote from years ago when we a huge fire that decimated the Laguna Mountains... the Navy said they had six water helicopters with trained crews, the blades are spinning , where do want them.... the cal fire idiot Pos responded, she said we do not fight the Navy's war and they will not fight ours..
Like it or not neither C-130's or Helicopter's no matter how large can pull the weight of a Super Scooper that doesn't have to return to an Airport for hour's, picks up it's load locally on the fly & makes many more drops per hour. both the C-130's & Helicopters are handicapped by reloading speed & the later by size. Are they better than nothing, by a very long shot
