- GIS workflows frequently rely on CAD datasets generated by outside engineering, survey and architectural sources. Integrating this data with your GIS can be a critical step in restructuring design processes and using your GIS as a central repository for geographic data. Choosing how to integrate CAD data depends on your specific requirements.
This video shows the steps to converting CAD files into a usable GIS format like shapefiles.

can you please help about georeferencing this AutoCAD .dwg file in ArcGIS and areas of parcels
how about its coordinate system? mine doesn't have coordinates
thank you so mutch , you saved my life
Buen vídeo, he utilizado este método antes pero he visto que el exportar de DWG a SHP es mas rápido y con mayores opciones empleando AutoCAD MAP, en especial con los textos. Saludos
How would I join the attributes to the entities if they are not polygons, but rather lines and points? They won't intersect and I fear that my annotations will not always be closest to the related feature.
you can create a buffer around the points or lines, then join the result with the attributes points ;)
What if I have a cluster of points though and the insertion point for the attributes are not always closest to the correct feature? I am specifically talking about utility data.
Without georefrencing, no use
No salvations without Jesus Christ! Do you agree?
