Using ArcMap 10 to join Excel data with a shapefile

This is great. One question for you, do you know how to make the join permanent? (So that the shapefile adds the new data to is attribute table permanently).

Yasin2ray try right clicking on the shapefile (while in arcmap)-> data --> export data: the new shapefile has all the info and no joins :)

If we dont have the same column name how can you join it shows the error. I mean u have a column name locid in shape file but in excel you have column name origin. How can you join
