Great video! I’m slowly becoming obsessed with houseplants, must be an age thing 😂
hahahahha
MogwaiYT Same! :D
Same here.
😂 yes!!!!
I’m almost 15 and I have 21 succulents 😂😂😂
There are succulents that can not have water on their leaves. Succulents that are under grow lights can be burned by the water left on leaves. Pots without drainage holes aren't meant to be a long term. The pots you have picked are very cute.
Jacki, you're a winner! Please send us an email at: info@succulentsandsunshine.com to claim your free T-shirt!
You can solve this problem, just buy your own pots when you get a plant :)
Actually the thing about plants getting burned by drops of water is a myth. If it were true, every plant that got rained on followed by bright sun would be burned. It just doesn’t happen.
@DonutCovered Kitty I'm late, but yes. They do not want water on their leaves at all.
@DonutCovered Kitty I just got a Kalanchoe Tomentosa myself and from all my research it says that the leaves have a layer to protect them from the sun. that is the fuzz. If they get too much water it won't work as well or get rid of the layer. But I'm not an expert so remember to do some research as well. :)
Great news for me - I am 74 yrs old and am starting a succulent garden business in Spring...Thank You!
Super exciting!
@@Succulentsandsunshine I know you totally know what you're talking about, so will you give me some advice? My cactus is loosening a bit in it's soil (a baby, about 5-6 inches tall) and leaning slightly. I've tried rotating it to balance the sunlight and I'm following all of your watering advice. Please help, I really love this one. Thanks!
@@ameliapiner9245 either its not getting enough sunlight or too much, how much does it get a day?
That is wonderful.. I want do that as well..
Hope it's going well!
Just a college student that's interested in trying to grow pretty and happy little succulents....thanks for the great tips😁
I actually accidentally clicked on this video, but now I'm watching it to the end because she really knows what she's talking about. Great video, I'm subscribing now.
So glad you liked it! :)
Me to
Eh she doesn’t know one really important thing. You shouldn’t get water on fuzzy succulents
Well I found out why I killed like 12 succulents over the last couple years lol
that's me but with leaf propagation
i have killed every single aloe vera ive had 😅
@@pj-ht2nh they r the easiest to take care , give some indirect light and some water :)
I literally water all my succulents like once every month or two. I have had all of them for 2 years😂
Mine ten years and I only water when I see them. Like. Once a year. Omg. Im horrible. They sustained though
Is that summertime watering or wintertime
@@abeladames3593 depends on humidity? For me i do it kind of biweekly unless i forgot about them
I water my succulents very minimal. They get a tiny bit of water every Monday. That is a great way of doing it when you are forgetful because if you forget, once or twice, no big deal
I love that the reason our succulents survive is because we forget to water them! I love succulents for that reason!!
Ever since I watched this video in the summer, I've been watering my succulents as you suggested and they have been thriving and looking really healthy. Thank you for the tips!
So glad to hear it! :)
I have never had problems over-watering my indoor plants! I'm so much more likely to forget and underwater, which makes succulents the perfect plant for me. I loved this video - great detail!!
Okay, ready to try again after losing all 3 or 4 of the succulents I tried in 2017. This video was helpful!
I've had my little baby succ for almost 2 months and it's still alive! I found out he's being underwatered because of your awesome video. Thanks!!
I really really enjoy your videos!! You go slow enough to retain the info, you’re very detailed, but not overly detailed with too many options, and you’ve got a nice soothing voice. Thank you for your help! Looking forward to using your tips to make my succulents look more cool. Right now they are only in boring terre cotta pots. Haha!
so clear - thank you! Especially love the pics of what the plant looks like under vs over watered.
Useful info, friendly voices and a sweet smile, tq so much Dear, good day and success to us all 😘
I always struggle with overwatering, this was helpful!
Absolutely perfect video! This is exactly what I've been wanting to know being new to succulents! Thank you Succulents🌵 and Sunshine ☀ XOXO
One of the best video for succulents watering, love you thanks a lot dear.
Oh god I was drowning them 🤦🏻♀️

I am so glad I watched this video! Changing up my watering methods immediately...Thanks so much!
This is the best advice ever for keeping my succulents healthy.
Great Great Video! You explained and broke down the process, the how's and why's, perfectly clearly! Thank you Sooo much!
Thank you for this! The soak and dry method to grow roots is really good info.
Great video on watering succulents.
I like the pictures added to show signs of under watering & over watering... This video was a tremendous help. 👍
Thank you for all the great tips & help you provide us succulent lovers.
Greatly appreciated! 💗🌵🌞
This is the best succulent care related video I’ve found so far!!! Subscribed!!
I learned alot from your video and also the gritty soil is something I would love to try. Thank you
You're just as calm and with a refreshing smile as your happy peaceful little succulents. Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing these awesome tips. 😇✌️
Thank you for your clarity on how to water the succulents. There are many misconceptions out there on RUclips that are very confusing for someone new to succulents like me. You have earned a “like “and “subscribe‘from me. Excellent job
Greetings from the UK🇬🇧. Thanks for your video, it was really helpful. Used the soak and dry method and one of my cacti almost doubled in size within a few days, a haworthia seedling is now green and healthy. I was worried about giving too much water to a plant in a closed container but having seen positive results on the other two, am now going for it. Thanks very much, only wish I'd found this video sooner and that you were UK based as I can't get the products easily.
just bought myself new tiny succulents today to plant in little clay pots I did decorative painting on. so excited to get them repotted & sitting on my kitchen window ledge. I love your channel & enjoy your emails just as much!!
Water plants indoor
This was a great video! It taught me how to water my succulents correctly with the soak and dry method.
I appreciate the short and direct intro ✨😊
Great to the point tips. I almost always make drainage holes, but for the few I dont, the measuring tip really has helped!
Watering is the most important part of growing succulents. I m glad you have made a separate video for this. Will share with friends.
I’m new to all of these beauties ,these videos have helped me so much ,and my babies are still alive so thank you Cassidy 👏👏😊
I have learned everything I know about succulents. Drawn to Cassidys simple understandable videos. I’m actually getting pretty good at it. Thanks
I'm just looking at it like "omg are you okay?" and trying to work out if there's anything it needs, and it's not easy lmao
This is the most informative and effortless video on succulent care I’ve seen this far. Thank you so much 🙏🏻
You are so welcome!
Thank you! Clear, concise and my succulents are very grateful
Have used this method for years, excellent advice, my succulents are thriving.
Another good way I found to get the roots to grow longer when potting cuttings or succulents that already have roots is to wet the soil in the pot on the bottom by Dunkin the pot in a bucket of water making sure not to wet the roots or cutting tip that way the roots go searching for the water grow longer and get more vigorous 🙂
Thanks for the tips! I just bought my first succulent (a echeveria blue prince) and he's been struggling a bit. Will definitely apply what I learned from this video!
Very good presentation. Looking forward to watching more even though I have raised succulents for years. 👍
This was very helpful for new growers like me! Thank you 😊
Had several plants from the Home Depot in decorative planters. After a week all were dead, root rot. Asked my husband to drill a drainage holes. Also, the method of soak and dry (3-4 times) really helps, especially when the plants are potted in BonsaiJack mix.
Thank you.
VERY HELPFUL VIDEO!!! You saved my lots of succulents!
So much useful information - you answered many questions of mine! Thanks Cassidy!
Thank you for all of the useful information, I am new to succulents
FINALLY taking your advice & ordering succulent mix from Bonsai Jack. Why must I be so stubborn??!!
This has been so helpful! I have had a few issues in the past with my succulents without the drainage holes (I ordered a bunch of little pots on Amazon, and didn't realize they didn't have drainage holes until after they came in), and after a few months using this method, I still haven't lost any!
I just found your channel. Great videos, extremely helpful advises and most of all great sound and great images. Love your videos. Thank you so much
Your videos are great for the novice succulent grower. I have just begun experimenting with these and so far (with your help) I’ve really enjoyed my new hobby! Thanks!

I have many plants, but lately became obsessed with my succulents. You are a God-send and I'm always better equipped after watching one of your videos!! You have such a pleasant and sunshinny demeanor, which fits the title of your channel. Thank you so much!! 😊
Thank you so much!! :)
Excellent video. Thank you for this information. It's exactly what I needed to know. From British Columbia Canada
This is a great video. I find all your tips to be very practical and helpful!
Hi, I'm going to guess that your day job is not, a used car salesman. Although you did sell me on your video, it was a very well done. I do not have a green thumb whatsoever, but I think I can do it now. Your video is done right in so many ways, speech- nice and clear, I could understand everything you said. Lighting- I could see everything clearly. Instructions as well as problem solving, all make sense. 👏👏👏👍👍
Glad I could help!
Fabulously informative video. Thank you
im so happy i saw this! me and my bf got succulents to put in these giant mugs (that are too big and decorative to actually use as cups) that we got each other, and we didnt think about the drainage hole until after buying the succulents. i thought we would end up having to drill a hole in the bottom, but im glad this method doesnt require a drainage hole!
Great Instructor supplying super succulents watering instructions!!!!
You are an excellent tutor and speaker, so easy to listen to other than some on you tube. You have great information and tips for even the 73 year old gardener...thank you
Thank you! :)
You should post more I think this channel could become popular you just need to post more. 😀
I bought about 12 of them a couple years ago and have been putting them all in the shower and drenching them then leaving them out in the open sun of a south facing window for like 3-4 months. They seem to love it, all alive and very very big and colourful, even starting to flower this year so will be cool to see.
Great tip and thanks for all the good advice! I am a fairly new addicted succulent lover!
Awesome video. Thanks.
This is going in my bookmarks, thank you!
Great info!!! Now we can really get our succulents growing!!!
Great video! None of my pots have drainage holes, so this is very helpful. Also, I was considering buying a cute spray bottle I found on Amazon, but thanks to this, I won't. Thanks Cassidy!😁
very helpful! thank you.
I too got bit with the succulent bug. I broke down and bought a good size bag of Bonsai Jack. It is perfect for indoor succulents! I repotted all my indoor ones and crossed my fingers. It’s been 2 months and truly shocked how well they all are growing. I had taken before and today pictures so I was able to compare. Thank you!
chloe5susan That's stuff is good...I make my own soil.. El Nino in the winter time in So Cal gets pounded with lots rain I really thought I was going to lose lots of succulents but because I had fast draining soil of my own 😁 my succulents actually love that winter rain from El nino... Fast draining soil is key... Same goes for our summer heat anytime the heat at night stays above 78 for consecutive nights in so cal it's really not wise to water since the stomata will not open and plant will sit in water again fast draining soil will help.
what lighting are you using and how often do you water with the Bonsai Jack?
Finally found a good video about watering succulents! Thanks!
Very informative and clearly explained. Thank you for making this video
Great Advise...
Here in the AZ desert a good soaking goes a long way!
Perfect advice! I work in a plant store and this is exactly what I tell our customers.
I'm so glad the information is helpful to you! :)
Succulents and Sunshine I’m glad the information is correct and helpful to everyone! (Not to name names but a lot of bad information gets spread around and repeated...)
Thank you! You have the best video for how to water a succulent plant without a drainage hole. I'm excited to take care of my plant my boyfriend gave me for my birthday.
This is fantastic, I love you voice and what you have shared will be vital for my small beautiful plant, thanks!!
I brought it from the workplace, and given I have been working from home I can now take better care of it.
cheers
Thank youuu so muchhh for this!
I'm so excited to take care of my new baby and I'm busy checking the internet for tips hahaha
I love your website too!
You're welcome! :) So glad the tips have helped! :)
I'm just getting into gardening and I had no clue what I was doing. I may have accidentally killed my first try but I feel ready to try again.
I loved this video. It answered all my questions as to why my succulents just took a major crash. Thank you.
This video helped me understand how to water my succulents!! Thank you!
Sounds complicated. I'll just wing it. Only the strong will survive in my household.
My sister had succulents on her balcony in a northern country. Just in some regular soil. Got drenched in rain water a lot. Things have been surviving for like 6 years now.
Im with u on this. you´re position sounds a lot more relaxed :)
Ricky I stole a leaf from my mom and on a whim put it on a pot of soil and bam I now have a succulent that’s been growing pretty well. I only water it like a shot glass amount like once a week.
Yep lol. Succulents are so hard to Kill. This girl is making it sound hard to have them.
@@danpaytas9662
Then what am I doing wrong ! ? 🥴
::: Shakes fist at the sky :::
I leave my succulents and cacti outside when temperatures are above freezing. They're only houseplants in the winter. I have a big covered patio, so as the shadow moves, the plants receive partial shade so they don't sunburn. Anyway, I put the plants out in the rain when the soil gets dry, which is usually once a week. And they are doing fantastic. Even the ones I bought at Aldi a few years ago. I think rainwater makes a huge difference. Tap water contains all sorts of chemicals, which I'm sure accumulate in the soil.
Awe noooo I am going to re plant my succulents to try and help them. After watching and listening to your self which is Brilliant Thank you for sharing.
Good luck!
Lots of helpful hints to make my succulents grow well.
I just found and subscribed to your channel. Leafy house plants and cactus ... no problem. Succulents have always been a challenge for me. You addressed the exact issues that have boggled my mind when tending to them. Thank you from south Texas.

Great video! Thanks!
Very informative! just got mine today and wanna take care of it well. Thank you!
Thank you so much!!!! This really helped me in so many ways...I have a hen and chicks and the leaves at the bottom dried up...learnt a lot
New subscriber! Thanks for giving instructions for pots with and without drainage holes! That really helped! I always find a pot I love that doesnt work for the plants I want to put in them. 😅
Yes! I bought one of those glass pentagon 'planters' you see everywhere but I was concerned w the lack of drainage holes. Now, maybe...I don't need no stinking holes. Haha. I shouldn't get too cocky... but hey... it was a great video. 🤷🏼♀️
You now have a new subscriber! I knew a lot of this information but you had great little tips and tricks! Maybe the poor succulent that I had for almost three years that my father in law over-watered WITH A HOSE will come back to life with some of these tips
Good luck!! :) I hope you can save it! :)
Very Informative my succulents are doing great after watching this video.
This was so useful, thank you!
Exactly how I water my cacti which I've had for years. Literally soak them in water once the soil is dry..after a few weeks I find. This mimicks the natural habitat of drought periods followed by a downpour. Too many people are thinking cacti should be watered minimally...ie..watering them frequently but with the smallest amount of water...this of course means the soil is constantly damp & roots never dry out & therefore develop root rot. Don't be afraid to thoroughly soak them...and let them totally dry out!...as the vid says ;)
Great job!!
@@Succulentsandsunshine Did I write that? Need to get out more! (Weekend beer). Forgot to add great vid & explanation...keep it up! ;)
Love the Susan Aach planter. :)
This is super helpful! I've been wanting to try growing a succulent in a mug, but I don't want to drill a hole in it. Thank you!
I just ordered the soil and a new pot from the online store you recommended- thank you for such a helpful video!

So helpful! I recently realized I've been under-watering one of my succulents and this video definitely confirmed that. Thank you Cassidy!! I was also wondering - does anyone know the name of the succulent at 5:57?
