Nice reaction. It is really interesting to see someone’s first intro to Ren with a song other than Hi Ren. They fact that you really liked it makes me feel like the current Ren tidal wave is because he is brilliant and not because we are all getting caught up in the hype.

“bitten by a tick boi” this is Ren’s story, for real, bitten by a tick that caused Lyme disease and it was misdiagnosed for years. He once had a recording contract but he became ill and they canned him for it.
Sony didn't can him. Watch the interview with Justin Hawkins. Ren states himself he told the producer who worked for Sony that he couldn't continue with the contract. the producer was absolutely fine with this. Ren doesn't know where this rumour started.

Here is some additional information on Ren's story, in case you didn't already know. Gathered from an old newspaper interview and Ren's livestreams and posts where he discussed his condition. Ren Eryn Gill is a British musician/independent artist; born in Wales in 1990 or ‘91 (depending on which source you cite), he grew up in Brighton. Ren pursued a career in music from an early age. In 2009, while studying music performance at Bath Spa University, he began to experience health issues and was struggling to attend his lectures. Ren's illness often kept him in bed for up to 23 hours daily. Ren was initially misdiagnosed with depression, bipolar disorder, and chronic fatigue syndrome, which lead him to experience psychosis. It would take seven years before a doctor in Belgium finally correctly diagnosed Ren with autoimmunity, Lyme disease, and resulting damage to the brain, organs, joints, and PTSD. Ren eventually underwent stem cell therapy in the United States, which improved his health, but it has not been a cure.
Ren is currently in Canada for more treatments, including surgeries, and will have to be there for at least six months (Summer of 2023). Ren's Canadian doctor discovered that Ren also developed a condition called Mast Cell Activation Disorder, which has affected the myelin sheath in his brain, his thyroid, adrenals, as well as his bones/joints.
Ren stated: "It's a lot to wrap my head around having to be away from friends, family, and a successful career, and almost feels like a total juxtaposition to the fact that my music is blowing up right now and spreading to all corners of the world, but that's life, we take the good with the bad."

Please update this text my watching his interview on youtube ....Justin Hawkins Rides Again, Sony and he mutualy parted ways as he was very sick and didn't feel he could continue. He even mentioned in that interview he has seen the comments saying he was dropped and clarified it.

I know that it's a long video, but I would highly reccomend watching the interview REN did with Justin Hawkins for context into his life/music. REN has been through a lot of shit (and is still currently going through a lot), but is also one of the nicest artists you will ever experience. Very humble.
Ren is a musical genius, do Hi Ren next its a peice of work you will not forget easily., as far as British Rappers go we are tyhe best in the world .the most lyrical out there as long as you understand very few Uk Rappers talk about bling, bnitches and boats like our american cousins.

My suggestion is you react to 'Hi Ren', then 'Tale of Jenny and Screech (Full)'. After that any of his other videos are amazing.
Ren is a little bit like Dax, but next level! The hiphop/rap Ren is just one of his personas. He's actually been around for longer than Dax, but is only starting to take off globally these last few months. Unlike Dax, Ren produces his own beats, produces and mixes his own music, plays all the instruments, even directs and produces the videos on much of his music. Plus, he has a fantastic singing voice and was in a rock/indie band (playing lead guitar, bass and vocals). He is a true savant.
And if that wasn't enough he is a truly genuine and humble person - you can often catch him live on twitch, after his tracks drop on RUclips (probably going to be at least one a month for the next few months), interacting with fans. And he often interacts with creators and reactors so be ready for Ren dropping in!

for those who don't know, here's a brief Ren bio.........at 17, he contracted Lyme disease and an autoimmune defiency, was MISdiagnosed as 'mentally ill'......Ren is still in treatment and has a GoFundMe account to help pay staggering medical bills.......the pig is a butcher, I believe Ren's opinion of some doctors and therapists.......the therapist here just gives Ren 'psycho babel', having no real therapeutic help, which is why the beat drowns her out her words......"Sick Boi, sick boi, bitten by a tick boi"........

Wait until you here his other stuff. He is the most amazing human on Earth. All of his songs sound different.. Tom Macdonald used to be my favorite rapper. Honestly this guy is much better than Tom. Once you go down the Ren rabbit hole you will never be the same.
Oh man you jumped into the deep end here... i have one comment the "industry is cut-throat" content has two meanings... the pharmacy industry as you guessed, but also the music industry. Ren had a contact with Sony(i think) but was cut immediately after becoming ill and being unable to fulfill quotas for recordings. Lots of his lyrics have double meanings.... also cudos on picking up the breathing as part of the beat. Anything you see or hear in his songs is part of his vision. Including breathing lights flickering, the shaky table in this song, etc... some of his stuff is more a performance than a song... let's face it, it's art not music
