Ren us British. In Britain like in the rest of the Western world healthcare is free and universal. Only the US has made people's health a commodity for companies to make profit from.
Ren Genesis, Ren The Power, Ren Hunger all bar heavy and just amazing lyrical wordplay, also Money Game Part 1 & in particular 2 because of the direct correlation to "Hi Ren".
I was also bitten by a tick on vacation in Rhode Island and I got Lyme disease and over ten years later I’m still dealing with the pain and weakness and that’s why I relate to Ren so much, the rap world and the world in general need this man… we need more of real lyrical rap back on the radio
Just rolling through to show support to your channel and Ren. Never encountered an artist like him before, but it couldn't have come at a better time. Here for the ride.
Ren is on another level. I have gone down this rabbit hole. He is nothing short of phenomenal. Awesome reaction. Keep going with Ren. You won’t be disappointed. ✌🏻❤️😊
Ren was mis-diagnosed for almost a decade. He was treated with drugs for mental health issues and of course the medications didn't work because he had Lyme's disease. Once he had a diagnosis he had stem cell treatment which gave him a layer of relief but the long term Lyme's damaged his brain so he is now in Canada receiving another set of treatments to try and find another level of better. He may never find full physical healing but I can't imagine the strength it took to agree to painful treatments again after he'd finally found a degree of relief.
The low vocals bothered me in this song, until I saw a comment on another reaction video that explained Ren is such a genius, that they think it is to signify him not being able to hear through all the noise when doctors are talking to him.
Great video and song. Truer lyrics have never been spoken. Im disabled with a several serious conditions and you are just a consumer of their products to these big pharma companies. They will create the problem, then sell you the cure. Eventually, you feel like you're going crazy. Btw- just found you guys through Ghost and even tho im old, I am loving your content. Keep upthe great work.
Thanks yall! She thankfully got an early diagnosis. She still is zapped of energy pretty much all the time, but I am definitely thankful that is all she deals with
You 2....❤️ Thanks for getting into the lyrics!! I've listened to this song a million times, and until just now because you read the lyrics, I wasn't getting the whole suicide/commit play on words....😔 Now it hits so much deeper!! Thank you guys, I love your reactions ❤️ 💕
And this was definitely not a one take video...but he's a genius with his location setup for the echo harmonics in hi one take videos like way too nice bruv💯
Lyme is a shit show, especially when it’s misdiagnosed for so long, which is what happened in Ren’s case (my understanding is that he has late stage Lyme). It took quite a bit of fighting, research to get doctors to look for the underlying cause instead of just treating random symptoms. All that was made worse due to a number of other medical issues going on. Had a similar issue when my immune system decided my thyroid was hostile, right after a unrelated surgery, months of fighting while trying to cope. Really loving Ren’s work as I go through his catalog.
Luke’s disease can be one of the most difficult to detect because it mimics the symptoms of multiple other serious diseases. What complicates this problem even further often the victims have no idea that they’ve been bitten by a tick, there are zero symptoms and the disease is hidden in the body for years ( they sometimes suspect decades) before it manifests itself.
Great reaction. "Sick Boi" is almost another chapter to "Hi Ren." As mentioned above, his latest release, “Bittersweet Symphony (The Verve retake),” is another masterful work. Ren was initially misdiagnosed with depression, bipolar disorder, and chronic fatigue syndrome, which lead him to experience psychosis. Hence his anger. He was essentially told that it was all in his head and he was given drugs that did not nothing to cure his illness, and only added to the misery because of the side-effects of psychotropics. It would take seven years before a doctor in Belgium finally correctly diagnosed Ren with autoimmunity, Lyme disease, and resulting damage to the brain, organs, joints, and PTSD. Ren eventually underwent stem cell therapy in the United States, which improved his health, but it has not been a cure. Ren is currently in Canada for more treatments, including surgeries, and will have to be there for at least six months (Summer of 2023). Ren's Canadian doctor discovered that Ren also developed a condition called Mast Cell Activation Disorder, which has affected the myelin sheath in his brain, his thyroid, adrenals, as well as his bones/joints.
U guys r my go to ren reactions wen im needing a lift ,n a laugh sharing ur 1st reactions with true musical appreciation for Ren cheers fae Roderick fae Scotland living in northern Ireland cheers❤🐷🎶🆓️
Ren is so amazing. I watched 3 of yours. It's so fun being addicted to searching first reactors to Ren. The most inspiring human I know with that Hi Ren song an introduction to him...next to that DIMASH guy from Kazakhstan. I think might be alien though.
I'm obviously not totally sure but I took the low mix on vocals early as everything going on in his mind overwhelming the pointless psychiatrist interaction so it was almost like the conversation was muted
A bunch of comments are saying it but I'm not convinced of it. Did he say this himself somewhere? If it is the reason, I don't agree with his decision to do it. Vocals should be loud enough to be understood because that's what music is. you can get creative with different effects to convey something like that. Low volume vocals is a bad choice imo.
@@FlawdTV Yeah I have no clue if he said it anywhere just what I felt listening to it and his other stuff but I just know personally dealing with therapists when you are in the middle of things everything they say can sound muted and he's been in the thick of things. My reason for saying that is he's had extremely good mixing in live one takes and specifically plays into the acoustics of spaces so I just don't feel like it was a screw up. I could be wrong though - I'm not a music producer. Like when the therapist is doing the whole "in and out" the treble notes are extremely accentuated and it has to be deliberate. I'm in no way saying this was correct normalized mixing for a mainstream track but for what he does with his music everything seems to convey something. Like in the whole Jenny x Screech trilogy and really his whole catalog. You should link his gofundme in the description to help with his treatment!
In his case, he was misdiagnosed and being prescribed medication for bipolar because they were convinced it was all in his head...when Lyme disease was just ravaging his system. If you're not even being treated for the right condition, nothing they give you is going to help.
What up fam!? Great react ! I REALLY hope y'all get to some of his truer rap joints. (Genesis. What You Want, and The Hunger) and yes I know the rules but ya boy's pockets are lean so all I can donate is love & likes.
Hahaaaa nice ending. 😁🤣 Beeeeeep. If you wanna see another side of him check out Love music part 1 part 2 and part 3. 1 and 2 are 7 years old and part 3 is 2 years old. Its good vibe music with...as we know Ren...epic bars. 👌
Just a quick point, healthcare in the uk isn't really profit based, as it's almost all covered by taxes, there are some things you need to pay for, but it's still not as expensive as it is in the states. You still end up on the same pills though.
The pig represents a Butcher, & now you know the Butcher represent his Psychiatrist, who's diagnosis encouraged the various misdiagnosis, allowing his "Lime Disease" to drag on for 10 years untreated! The medical industry tends to treat such "psychiatric patients" as a hypochondriac... "It's just in your head; take some aspirin & call my receptionist in the morning!"
That happened to me when I was 25 doctors told me after being in the hospital for 3 months because I went blind they got back some of my vision but only a little like 5% one eye and 15 in the other and I never knew that doctors could get you addicted to Pills and never knew that I never did a drug weed nothing when I was young I was like a nerd I was a scholar and called Everything anyway this is right after I got married to I'm talkin when I come home from my honeymoon from Jamaica I had to go to the hospital and they put me on Demerol dalada and then oxycontin's to go home with and I'm talkin 240 40 mg a month for 8-years and when I try to come off that shit I did thank God it's been 14 years but you don't know what I went through doctors are scumbags and use a right and this guy sick boy if that's his name God bless him for talking about it cuz these doctors don't give a shit about people in their
Being that Rap is not my go to genre of choice, i was unsure of its legitimacy because I thought it was awesome. Glad you did a reaction Big man. Seems I was right...
Keep in mind that our experience with the healthcare system is very different from the UK. They don't have health insurance the way we do--- they all have coverage.
Definitely check out Crucify Your Culture and Money Game I & II. He speaks really frankly on very real issues in our society/government. He does it in a really good way with dope tracks, so even if you don’t agree with the words you can see his point of view.
it's weird to me that no one caught it, I live like 100 miles from London, in a forest, and we check each other for ticks because of Lymes, like if you go proper green laning, you get checked for ticks/bites.
That's not surprising to me. That's how the internet works. You don't need an industryz him being sick can't stop him from being creative. A good musician will music no matter what. J Dilla has his MPC with him in the hospital when he passed.
They misdiagnosed him for 5 years before they worked out it was Lymes disease... I think he went to Brussels (Europe) to get that diagnosis... I think he has ptsd regarding the useless NHS treatment of mental health hence the pigs... He has a line in another song about "pigs to the slaughter"
It's not the medical profession taking him for money, but here in the UK is being so defunded by the government, that medics will always try to find the easiest, cheapest solution. I've just gone through six years of tests & mistrust to prove I have Psoriatic Arthritis, another autoimmune disorder. As well as my mental issues falling in to place with an Autistim diagnosis. I'm 52, trust me, I make the NHS sound bad, but the individuals are trying their best. I'd not survive in the US medical industry.
Hi Just saw you on Adam cast. I hope you read this and pass it onto your wife. This is really important but as someone who had three miscarriages after not being on the pill for years I found out that I was supposed to be on progesterone. It helps the baby stick to the uterus. Unfortunately the pill has progesterone in it. I should’ve never stopped taking the pill years before. It would’ve kept my uterus healthy. I eventually was able to have a daughter and now she has the same problem. Rather than the pill she has chosen to take progesterone alone because the estrogen in the pill gave her heart palpitations. Good luck to you and I hope you read this!! 🙏🙏🙏
I'm not sure if y'all knew his story. But basically Ren had gotten sick and he went to the doctor and they couldn't find anything wrong with him. As he continued to get worse and worse over time suffering with a lot of pain anxiety different things like that because he couldn't figure out what was wrong with him they were telling him that it was all in his head. So they started giving him anti-anxiety medications antipsychotic medications and things like that because they thought it was in his head. After six or seven years they finally discovered that he actually had Lyme disease and by then all this time had passed so his physical symptoms mental system symptoms have gotten way worse while also battling all the side effects from taking all these psychotic drugs that they were giving him. So that is sort of what he means by them kept doing pills at him and all the side effects and everything like that when he didn't actually need any of them
If you like this, you'll appreciate The Hunger by him as well. It's so fire 🔥 🔥🔥
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I def wanna see them do "The Hunger" myself... it's so sick!!

‘Losing it’ is unbelievably, even way better than ‘Hunger’.
Chalk Outline next!! Ren + Chinchilla, it highlights his amazing singing voice and so many hooks, all the way through.

Missed the 🔥live but it’s damn good to listen too while grooming my two beast. Thanks for the work @FlawdTv. Love you guys. 😊❤️🙏🏻
Ty for the realisation ❤
In the UK, we have NHS, you dont pay for medical procedures of prescriptions unless you choose to go private.

My daughter, who is 8, got diagnosed with Lyme last Spring. Scary disease
Hope she is ok...
I wish your daughter all the luck for the future.

Came to sub after seeing you on Nicky Rackets. 👍
Remember he’s from the uk. Health care is free here!! So luckily he hasn’t been bankrupted by his illness!!
Certain meds I was given when I was younger actually made me feel like I was 'drowning', numb the skin, the lungs, the mind.
I seen this dude on TikTok I think it was or something like that. Its legit dope, I dig it. Gives me old school (my era) vibes w/the scheme/shifts.
Rewatching with both y'all ❤️
🔥🔥
❤❤❤
