The Police have been around since 1977. They didn’t truly break out worldwide until the 80s, but they were bigger in England from jump. I have a friend who worked with one member in his own band prior to their formation, so it’s fascinating to watch Ren’s love of them.

I think it's such an amazing thing to see how far the tentacles spread out when it comes to REN & how he's bringing people together. I keep saying just how great it is to take the middle man out & support & build each other up. It's not about the money but the love of music. People coming together offering what they can do. The fundraising Ren was doing is for the RNLI. They are a volunteer run life boat charity with stations all over the UK coastline and on the Thames in central London. They save thousands of lives a year while risking their own lives and doing it all for free as volunteers! They are amazing people and even when Rens fundraiser is over, they need donations all year round and you can still donate anytime directly to the RNLI. They might just save your life one day!
Thank you, it’s great to know that Ren supports the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, a charity close to my heart. I was born and brought up on the coast (Swanage via Brighton), so I always donate to the RNLI when I can.

Not only psychosis but the constant, everyday pain. I have an incurable chronic pain/ connective tissue disorder and i can tell you, even once you're properly diagnosed it is hell. Going through this, being told that you aren't really feeling the pain and illness, that it is just a symptom of your mental illness... you lose confidence in doctors and everyone and start asking yourself why the hell am I still doing this every day? Why am I still making an effort. What is the point?
How he survived that kind of warfare inside and outside of himself just shows his strength and determination. And now the generosity to use his limited windows of feeling OK to share his gift with us! So add generosity to his monster talent, skill, heart, strength of will, determination and so so so smart.
I'm in awe. And so envious. I wish I had a quarter of his motivation. Instead, I'm a broken old lady who just wants an hour without pain lol.
He just amazes me.

Sting film was called 'Quadrophenia'. It was the film of the Who album of the same name, about street gangs in '70's Britain. Fun fact: The beach fight was in Brighton, which was notorious for teenage gang fights between Mods and Rockers. 'Mods' rode Italian scooters, 'Rockers' rode motorcycles. Sting played the leader of a Mod gang.

Part of Rens big fan base is his ability to reach all generation of musicians. I saw the Police in 1980/81..in 79 Ska was part of the music scene. In fact I loved it so much ❤we went to Jamaica for our honeymoon.. lol

As always, great reaction. Ren's release, "Sick Boi," is almost another chapter to "Hi Ren." Ren is very critical of the medical establishment, and understandably so, given that all his symptoms were initially mistakenly chalked up as depression, bipolar disorder, and chronic fatigue syndrome, which led him to experience psychosis and develop PTSD. It would take seven years before a doctor in Belgium finally correctly diagnosed Ren with autoimmunity, Lyme disease, and resulting damage to the brain, organs, joints, and PTSD.
Ren's personal reflections are threaded through many of his songs; “Crutch,” "Insomnia," "Depression," “Diazepam," “Penitence,” “Dear God,” “Heretic,” “Dominos,” his "Freckled Angels" album, just to name a few, all deserve a listen. Many of his songs resonate with people because he addresses struggles that many others face every day.
