- Lot's of requests for this one! I didn't really have much to say, it really drew me in and for a bit, I kind of forgot that I was making a reaction video. I really LOVE his voice, and wow, Chinchilla is great too! Then there's the lyrics. UGH.
My first time hearing this one touched me, as I knew it would. It's hard to be emotional on camera, so I may have been putting this one off a bit, but I intend on covering much of the #ren catalog eventually. I've got to balance it with lighter hearted stuff though, because even though it's healing in the release, it's also draining.
As always, I can't thank the #Renegades community enough for your outpouring of love and support.
As a veteran and someone who has struggled with mental health issues, I find Ren's music cathartic and inspiring. In fact it was a large part of why I decided to stop procrastinating and do something I have been wanting to do for years, which is start a RUclips channel. And you guys have supported me every step of the way.

You should never apologize when Ren’s lyrics get to you. Trust me, we’ve all been there! Multiple times. Sometimes every time we hear a song. Yeah, we watch hoping to recapture that first time we heard it.

EX-actly. This is the reason I watch reactors reacting to the same song, over and over; I live vicariously through the power of their emotions. I revel in the beauty of their deep emotions laid bare for us to remember ours.

This is Ren. And we are the Renegades. We are you, and you are a part of us. I have honestly lost count on how many people Ren has touched in the same way that this touched you. Especially men, who have been conditioned not to express, let alone feel their emotions. Ren has cracked them open, free from the years of armor that they built around themselves. And SO many have been or still are in the military. Ren has said on so many different occasions that ,as much as he loves music and making it ( I mean…RenMakesMusic) , with songs like Hi Ren, Chalk Outlines, How To Be Me, Su*cide, For Joe, Seven Sins, Lost All Faith, Depression, Everybody Drops, Dominos, …to open up a space for those of us who are where he was for a decade or more: unseen, unheard, not understood and either completely adrift or treading water- exhausted and feeling utterly alone. You can actually see who Ren is and what matters to him in his video on Defining Success ( When he hit 1M subs on YT). ❤

Last year I was at the therapist because multiple sclerosis was diagnosed at me and that hit me hard, especially because I feel the deterioration every day. and additionally it was worked out that deep inside i carry a PTSD from my deployment in in the yugoslawian war with me which both resulted in depressions nowadays. So today I sit here with tears in my eyes, full of antidepressant agents, deep in this Ren-Rabbit-Hole and feel somehow freed... His music is kinda healing, and those uncutted reactions like yours are too.

Daisy (Chinchilla) has anxiety around performing. Her nails, wonderfully eccentric hats, sunglasses, and outfits- seen in other videos- are her "Chinchilla" persona and helps her perform.

I loved watching you gradually forget about looking at the lyrics and just get sucked in by the song. “How To Be Me (live)” is your next listen if you want another haunting duet with Ren. Chinchilla is a sensational solo artist in her own right. Fingers, Cut You Off, Little Girl Gone, 1:5. All fantastic tracks. She’s got a phenomenal set of pipes.
And the nails are part of her persona. Chinchilla has her own unique style you’ll come to discover.

@@choppedliver_reacts - The only 'wrong' way to do it is to be dishonest. Being honest, open, vulnerable and transparent will draw the audience I think you want. But first and foremost take care of the self. Only go as deep and as far as you are able. Some of Ren's stuff is heavy as you have already witnessed.

Chinchilla, her nails are her armour, she wears then to perform, I first saw her on the voice, her blind audition was incredible, well worth a check out, she has also done other stuff with Ren along with her own stuff, her voice is insane! Take care and keep smiling and strong!😊

Beautiful reaction. A lot of us have sobbed listening to this song. I have felt like a chalk outline from anti depressants. The Doctors tried hard to find one that wouldn’t make me feel like that. The ones I’m on now make me feel basically normal. Chronic pain causes bad depression which I have 24/7 for 15 years now. Hugs 🫂 🤗
@@SandraP3796 chronic back pain for 30 years, gabapentin, duloxetine, sertraline, fluoxetine, clomipramine, and many others, currently I am drug free. I even got off my ADHD meds.

Your reaction was the same as mine the first time I heard Chalk Outlines. I was a victim of SA as a child then again as an adult. I was suicidal, depressed and had anxiety. For over 20 years I was on various meds and nothing worked and I was even hospitalized. So they added more and more pills. I've recently had the courage to take myself off of everything and I have never felt better! This song resonates with me to my very soul! I still cry whenever I listen to it. But now it's because I realize what I lost for all those years. Thank you Ren for validating what we feel and letting us know we are not alone. Bless you!
Yes best to let the feeling take you over - better than a lyric breakdown on songs like this. There’s not a lot of people out there who can make you feel that way with a piece of art.

True. I just feel like all the other reactors I watch are so much more polished, and I wish it came that easy for me, but it doesn't, so what you see/hear is what you get and I'm happy that everyone has been so supportive

"If they can help you enough that you can crawl out of bed and still do something then, they have still value"....1000%!!! I was diagnosed with Depression and Anxiety and was treated with meds FOR Depression and Anxiety supposed to correct the chemical imbalance in my brain...which were largely ineffective because I ACTUALLY, later found out, have Autism and PTSD which were CAUSING the depressive episodes and anxiety. So, while the meds were not a permanent solution at all, they did kind of help, in a temporary sense (like putting a band aid on a bullet wound) get me to the next day, and the next until I could know what we needed to actually work on. Very insightful sentiment, very intelligent. Subbed on this video alone.

We've all been there my friend, thanks for your honest heartfelt reaction, it's important to release these feelings and Ren's music is great for that, there is another duet they do called How To Be Me and that is also very moving. Rens work with Bibi is also very emotional and his colabs with Eden Nash whilst a big more up beat also cover some important ground and for the more fun side of Ren check out the band he is in called The Big Push they have done some amazing work both covers and original songs. The thing I love most about Ren, is that he puts out there, the things"we" cannot speak or say. I can tell that you also feel that connection. That is what makes us "Renagades" the connection. "We" you or I, are not alone, even though it feels that way most of the time. I applaud this young man, that is brave enough to speak/say out loud what we are afraid to say say or speak out loud. At least speaking doe myself. There is a weird taboo, about saying how we really feel, and Ren is not afraid to just put it out there. I 51 years old, and still am not brave enough to speak. So I am in awe an love this"kid" who can say, what I am still afraid to say/speak/ admit to, out loud. I LOVE this boy, that can speak the truth for us

I always get chills from Ren's music, it hits many of us this way. It's just so relatable. For me, therapy, anti depressants and counselling has helped, though I still have to pull myself up and still find it hard at times. Some things, for me at least, never fully go away. We all feel you, this cuts so deep. Hugs, we're here with you 🫂❤.

I found Ren a few months ago...or he found me, when I needed it. Ive struggled with mental illness my whole life...and still wake up everyday and have to fight to get out of bed. Some days are good, most days are bad...but we keep fighting and pushing. Ren's ART has helped me breathe. Welcome to life after Ren. Also, a word of advice, don't worry about other reaction channels or what they do, or what their setups and videos are like. Be YOU, be genuine, and the rest will fall in place. Good luck to you. Obviously Ren chooses sites for atmosphere & also for some wonderful reverb. At this point in his career he had very little money to make his videos so he couldn't pay to use a space. When he was asked what his favorite places were to film he said, "The ones with lax security." It wasn't until "Money Game 3" that he spent over 1,000 pounds on a video.

The best musical “siblings”. Ren has called her his sister from another mister and a female version of himself due to their similar approach to music. For me I think it shows in the fact that they both have that something special that draws you in and demands attention. To see it fully for Chinchilla, check out her live version of Fingers.
This song always reminds me that one of the (many) things that makes Ren so great is his ability to know exactly when to be complex, keep it simple, or even use silence to get his message across. He isn’t flexing his guitar skills in this, just playing exactly what is needed with that beautiful guitar tone. And my favourite line in this is so simple, totally devoid of all the clever metaphors that he is so good at using, but it hits soooo hard: “I’m scared of being okay cause all things change”. I think anyone who has been through any struggles can relate to that feeling of not trusting that anything good will last. You can’t just enjoy it because you’re busy worrying about how long it will last and the feeling that will come when it’s gone. And then good days just make the darkness feel so much worse because you remember the light that’s gone… Ren is so special. He keeps being so relatable that it reminds us that we’re not alone. And we will always make room for more RENegades down the Ren rabbit hole cause we all need his light in the darkness 🐰🕳️
If you want more emotional singing from Ren, please check out one of my personal favourites: Crutch feat. Bibi. It’s an older song from before he was finally correctly diagnosed with Lyme disease and was written after a breakdown following multiple emergency trips to the hospital. It is heart wrenching and beautiful. And very different from everything else in his catalogue.

Amazing reaction. I know the feeling and i have chosen to give into that a little by just not interacting with the world, in my mind there are just way too many variables out there which elevates my anxiety level. If that make sense. I think we feel so alone because everyone is trying so hard to paint a perfect picture. The pills are a "fake it till you make it" cure, that I try to avoid. My tears flowed immediately because I can understand it so well and feel the same way. Ren has the gift of singing the words that I can't say. I must have cried for the first 20 times I listened to this song. I still get teary and it’s cathartic. I am fifty four now, i never used to cry, i used to just blow up, i am learning how to soften and now i cry all the time.
That's me in a nutshell. I used to be the angriest person I know, and sometimes I still am, but anger is just what happens when you are tired of being hurt, like a defensive mechanism. It's much less painful to be angry than to be hurt. But I'm learning, growing.
@@choppedliver_reacts I was abu,sed when just four, i fought back and hid it my subconscious because i was too young to process it. I have been fighting all my life, blowing up and not knowing why. Then when about forty i remembered and it came out of my subconscious. I have tried suic,ide a few times, once police cuffed my wrists behind my back and my ankles together, while on my stomach and pulled my head up so they could kick me in the face like a football and try to murder me. I was nineteen, i remember lightning going off in my brain and woke up stuck to a cell floor by my own blood. The memory coming out on me has not helped me to change the past, i realise i turn into a scared four year young boy in my mind and react with violence now though. I still lose it but not at all like i used to and it is getting better. Ren has helped me even though he does not know me. That is why i like him, he helps others to shine. I think maybe i can help others as well, the people deemed problem children, i see now are abus,ed children, i was one of them. Apart from that my parents died from cancer, niece from cystic fibrosis and her brother murdered and my best friend murdered at just sixteen. Just scratching the surface. It takes a lot of effort to hate, i really can't be bothered about that anymore, my rage is a pure adrenalin rush when it happens and hate is not even a factor, it is a reaction to feeling threatened in any way shape or form, a program glitch which is taking me time to ease out of and re program.

People are not allowed to share their trials of life which can helps others through their own hard times. I am especially not allowed to talk about the systemic child abuse which is going on in England by the English parliament as a whole. Melanie Shaw is locked in solitary confinement with a media ban, her crime was taking to the streets with a megaphone exposing the politicians, judges, barristers, police and the rest of the child abusers running England. This comment will most likely be deleted as well. I will persist regardless, it was five years ago Melanie was locked in solitary confinement with a media ban making her the most dangerous prisoner in England.
