Welcome to the wonderful world of Voice Play. The bass singer is Geoff (Jeff) Castellucci and he has an amazing 5 octave range. I have subscribed for more VoicePlay & hopefully Geoff reactions. VoicePlay are known as the theater kids of acapella. They are my favorite of the acapella groups. J None was a member of VoicePlay and he left to join the Navy Choir so when he gets time off, he will guest sing with VoicePlay. VoicePlay are totally independent and make the videos with the help of their patrons. for VoicePlay, I would recommend: "Hoist The Colors", "The Drunken Sailor", "Hellfire", "Be Prepared", "Nothing Else Matters", "Thriller", "Seven Nation Army", "Creep" "The Dragonborn Comes" and "In the Air Tonight". They have a huge catalog of songs from Disney to Rock. No matter what you choose, you won't go wrong. for Geoff, I would recommend: "16 Tons", "Far Over the Misty Mountains Cold", "I See Fire", "Song of Durin", "Jack's Lament" & "Ain't No Sunshine". Again, no matter what you choose, you won't go wrong. Geoff will clone himself in his videos and sings all the harmonies. Enjoy the rabbit hole.

I LOVE seeing people's first reactions! and you and I learned of Voiceplay and Geoff (Jeff) with the same video! Valhalla Calling was also my first introduction to Voiceplay and Geoff Castellucci (Bass). First it was like....who is that BASS?! And then I saw him and I was like.... 000h hello handsome! But yes welcome to the Rabbithole that is Voiceplay and Geoff who has a solo channel too! I would definitely recommend My Mother Told Me (vikings like this but before Valhalla), Hoist the Colours, Oogie Boogie Song and for Geoff solos: Sixteen Tons, Jack's Lament, Country Roads and Unshaken. But really you can't go wrong with any songs that Voiceplay does or Geoff does. If you look at a picture of all next to each other, the names are (from Left to Right) Layne (Beatboxer), Cesar (Baritone), J. None (Baritone but he used to be a full member before he left to join a navy A Capella group), Eli (Pronounced like Ellie, his full name is Eliezar. Tenor and resident rock god) and Geoff (Bass, but also called Human Subwoofer, Human Fog/warhorn, Dragon or Demon for his ability to sing way down into the depths of hell. He has an insane range though! This will show in Oogie Boogie. That is a lot of info on Geoff, but this entire group is insanely talented! I don't listen to anything else anymore since I found them :p They are also a group of goofballs and we love them for it 😂 I subscribed! Looking forward to you exploring more Voiceplay and Geoff :D

Faouzia’s a pianist and this was inspired by the Beethoven piece. Born in Morocco in 2000, she was raised in Canada when her family moved, and has been in the music business for over six years. Re: what octave… Geoff gets down to B0. I saw them live once. Let me tell you his voice through concert speakers is as close to a religious experience as I’ve ever had. He literally made my ribs vibrate and every now and then he’d hit a slide that went right down or up my spine. I was listening to him with my skeleton. 😝 He’s go solo stuff out too. I’d recommend Jack’s Lament if you have seen Nightnare Before Christmas. If not, then maybe try Don’t Mess Around With Jim. Oh, and his full name is Geoff Castellucci. Yes, J None was the rapper. He was a long time member who left to join the Navy. He sings with the Navy Band now, but whenever he’s home, the boys rope him back in as a guest. I’d highly recommend checking out their covered of either Metallica’s Nothing Else Matters, Michael Jackson’s Thriller, Radiohead’s Creep, Aerosmith’s Dream On or Be Prepared from the Lion King. Whatever tickles you fancy more.

VoicePlay. I fell down the rabbit hole almost five years ago. Gave them the #TheatreKidsOfAcapella and instantly became a patron of both VoicePlay and Geoff (Jeff) Castellucci the bass on his own channel where he does his own low bass covers. They never disappoint the same with Geoff.

They are known as the "The Theatre Kids" and have been around longer than Pentatonix, but because they are 100% independent, they do not get the recognition they deserve. They have a large catalog with a wide variety of genres, from Disney to Metallica. Hope you check out more of VoicePlay.

What makes VP unique is that they are independent - so they can follow their own creative path. They do almost everything themselves - including the video direction. They have no instruments in this one - just perhaps some multi-tracks. The beatboxer is Layne Stein (awesome), the bald tenor is Eliezer (Eli - like "jelly") Jacobson, the rapper (and guest, but he was a member before he joined the Navy where he sings bass!) is J.None, the mohawk dude is baritone Cesar de la Rosa (we love him!) and the bass is of course Geoff (pr. "Jeff") Castellucci. He also has his own channel. Geoff has a 5-octave range and hit a 15sec B0 in this song. Having said that - all the members of Voiceplay has insane ranges! They are also probably the oldest acapella group and have the widest genre range. I love their rock covers, but their other gaming covers (like this one) are also incredible. They do not ever do sub par. They are known for their Disney covers as well as being the Kings of Halloween... but they do everything in between as well. Definitely get on this bus - it's a wild ride 😉 Thank you for giving them a go/chance. 🌹🕊

VoicePlay's arrangements are unique. Each member has a phenomenal range, so they don't toss a vocal line from one to the next as it moves from, for instance, baritone to tenor, but stay with it and weave it together with the others. They are also incredibly creative rhythmically - and that, too, helps them build their sound and makes it "bigger." Now you have to check out Geoff Castellucci, the bass. He has a separate channel that's just him... and he's mind-blowing. Everything he does is phenomenal - I'd recommend Ain't No Sunshine to get an idea of his range and capacity. But anything that catches your eye is good.

You are correct, J None was the rapper in this though that's just another string to his bow and he doesn't usually rap. He used to be a full member of Voiceplay but left to join the army and sings often as a featured artist with them when he gets some leave. Voiceplay are amazing and Geoff (the deep bass) is truly a master. He has some great solo songs too.

VoicePlay are amazing. Unlike Pentatonix and Home Free, they don't limit themselves to any genre; they can and do perform more or less everything. They are the kind of group that, if they feel like covering Metallica a cappella, then by golly, that's what they'll do. (And they did- Nothing Else Matters is one of their most viewed videos) They have no problem putting a trap beat into a classical piece, and they make it sound *good* (In the Hall of the Mountain King). And everything you see and hear comes from those guys on the screen, because VoicePlay are 100% independent artists who arrange their own songs, sing them, conceptualize, film and edit the videos, create all the sets etc-- the guys are so multitalented it's almost absurd. As far as where to go next, I'd say just find something that appeals to you and start there. There really isn't a bad song in their catalog, although I will say you can see a certain progression in their music if you compare an old video/song with one of their newer ones. But even their old videos can still impress people. Oh, and since no one has mentioned it yet, Mr. Subwoofer is Geoff Castellucci. He was singing down as low as a B0 in this piece- that's the second white key on a piano keyboard. While his lows are astounding, you will also be surprised when you hear how high he can go as well. He has a solo channel, where he performs (non-acappella) songs and overdubs his voice multiple times to create some lovely harmonies; you would be forgiven for thinking it was 4 separate people. Honestly, you just have to hear one of his songs to fully grasp all this; Geoff's is a once in a lifetime voice.

Lee Greenwood still sounds terrific. He said that having Home Free & the Singing Sergeants let him do much more with the song than he could solo. Christmas is coming & if you haven't seen their live collaborations with The Oak Ridge Boys ("Beautiful Star of Bethlehem") and Alabama ("Christmas in Dixie") they're both fantastic.
