Ive been researching the 4816 for quite some time now, and just found your channel. You do an excellent job in showing your workflow, and how you utilize the board to achieve that. Looking forward to exploring your channel more!
Yes, it is lots of fun. I finally got to point where the set up I have works for me. As you, I have three different keyboard zones that act independently and also can function as one unit. Like you said so many so many possibilities. it’s all fun.😊😊😊
Nice space, I have my DA outputs normalized to my analog consoles inputs. If I want to use my summing mixer I patch it in. My outboard preamps are normalized to my AD inputs. I used logic for many years, but switched to protools a decade ago. I like both your desks.
I am not taken it for granted you dont know what you are doing. are you clocking your system? I have 2 SSl X desk, 2 Apollo, and apogee converters, With no delay. I been doing this for decades. Clocking, routing, or delay compensate seems to be one of those. Did you ever firgure it out.
Yes, Vintage King Audio told me it was a converter issue. Many thought it was a clocking issue but they didn't have UA Apollos. Michael Connor told me the latency is sub 7ms going in and out so it had to be the converters in the Aphex 141bs. So I swapped them out and added two older Apollo x16s. Problem solved. I can use the Apollo 8 and, if I don't sell it, the Apollo Quad for I/O hardware, and the x16s for the routing through Logic to the mixer with it already routed in a template in Logic. Just got my loooooong USB thunderbolt 3 to 2 cable yesterday. Looking forward to finishing and mixing my new album, Big Blue Machine, through the 4816. I love that the Apollos are so modular yet work as one big interface. The Quad & 8 have 1/4 inch outs in my patch bay. The x16s are DB-25 to 1/4 so they are going straight to the 4816 ins and outs. More flexibility than I know what to do with! I'm loving the adventure.
@ ok cool. I first saw the Audient on your channel and was like what is that. At first I thought it was an SSL. I watched your work flow and was that is cool a woman is working that studio. Don’t see many at least not on RUclips. I said she a beast and she is doing everything. I been doing this mixing thing since 1994 and making music since 1991. I listen to your radio interview. Funny you and the woman worked together and didn’t know each other. Got a laugh out of that. Anyway, check me out and I will see you in the music. JusPlatnumbaby
@@Platnumbaby I know I had no idea about the Audient. Watched one video and saw a 4816 for sale on Reverb that was local and bought it before I even knew how great it would be for all this stuff. I had an Allen & Heath for the 1 inch MS-16 tape deck and sold it for the Audient.
@@LaurenPassarelli the radio host. I thought you were on a radio show that you posted on your RUclips page. You said you worked at the radio station in 94!and the lady said she been there since 1990. Maybe I was watching something else but I am sure it was your page
Great article about latency problems sent to me from multi-instrumentalist recording engineer, Rob Harkness. us-west-2.protection.sophos.com/?d=apple.com&u=aHR0cHM6Ly9zdXBwb3J0LmFwcGxlLmNvbS9ndWlkZS9sb2dpY3Byby93b3JrLXdpdGgtcGx1Zy1pbi1sYXRlbmNpZXMtbGdjcGUxMTk5N2JhL21hYw==&i=NWYxNzA0YmU1M2JlZGMwZjc3OTkxN2Fj&t=Y0RqT0xVc2RjRE9Qd2pSYThVVEVFempJR2M3NlRYNlNUWitSOWUvcHp2TT0=&h=edb24313949f41699ab7dd890d8194ed&s=AVNPUEhUT0NFTkNSWVBUSVaRULYO8kM_BWpdElTDSuFz1G0wmUbpgJ19Fx6Z3D-3pQ

Welcome, Greg! It is interesting how few videos there are on the 4816. What are your questions and concerns? How do you need to use it?
Just subbed. I’m LOVING the setup.
Thank you. Feel free to browse 'round my playlists. Lots of fun things for musicians and dachshund lovers.
same setup with my 2 apollos. But i setup the ins and outs in the apollo software and then it will automatic route in protools.
Thanks for sharing!
Glad you liked it. Thank you.
That was Very Very Cool...Love your Setup ..I too have been doing this a very long time as well....LOL ..Thank you ..!!!
Thanks, Edwin. It's so much fun to be us! Keep enjoying all you can.
