Hi There, I am just getting started with Canva (and I am an Adobe Illustrator and PS expert, LOL)... What I am struggling with here on Canva, (trying to follow your tutorial) is that I am not seeing a lovely view of all the design templates when I go to 'Create a Design' @1:36. I only get a search bar that gives me a much more limited choice. When I used the search bar to look at magazine templates, I only see about 10 choices, and certainly none with more than one page (like you had in your demo @2:51 ). I'm wondering if you can share with me why this is happening? Many thanks!
Hey Jen! Canva recently released version 2.0 so a lot of things have changed since this video was made (as often does with technology). Sounds like it's time to make a new video?
Ugh... LOL. I've gone through your tutuorial... I'll just have to figure the rest out. I certainly appreciate the content you've provided (wish they hadn't changed that feature - it looks like it isn't nearly as good as what you've shown). Cheers ~
I'll figure it out. ( Why are you apologizing for their changes - you'd think you were Canadian too ;-) ) If I can design in Adobe, this can't be difficult. I am told this is really quick and thought I'd give it a try :) Thank you for replying soooo quickly. Have a terrific day!
Just shared this video with my grandson. He was talking about purchasing PhotoShop and I told him about Canva but this video is much more convincing than any NaNa! :) Also am sending to my granddaughter who has started her own photography business and is using PS but this is so much easier!
Ha! Photoshop has it's purpose, but is much more expensive for sure and harder to learn. Perhaps he can start with this and then move up to Photoshop if his interest continues.
Glad it was helpful Rudy! They've since released Canva 2.0 and I recently released an updated tutorial if you are interested: ruclips.net/video/hiBAn1exlmc/видео.html
My pleasure! I think the paid version is well worth it. Canva 2.0 has some new features too - I just released a new tutorial today (although you may know most of this): ruclips.net/video/hiBAn1exlmc/видео.html
Glad it was helpful Janine! I'm sure you got the general idea, but if anything looks off in the video it might be because Canva has released a newer version and there is a tutorial for it here: ruclips.net/video/hiBAn1exlmc/видео.html
Depends on the image and if you purchase it, it depends on if you purchase single use or multi-use. Here are their terms of use: about.canva.com/terms-of-use/
Yes but there are also free Images wich can ne used for the Design without paying. The question is can i use them for further sell or print on a t shirt and so on
Very well done tutorial. However--how come my Canva looks different than the one in this video? It's not as helpful when I want to try something you just demonstrated but all my controls are in different places and look different when I click on them.
Glad you enjoyed it! If you are interested, Canva 2.0 was released in the fall and this is an updated tutorial: ruclips.net/video/hiBAn1exlmc/видео.html
This is a great tutorial on Canva. And it took me awhile to understand thse things as an user of Canva. Are you sure you dont work for Canva. Hmm...😑 Joking. Joking. Overall, very easy to follow. Amd also are you going to do a quick tutorial on the motion graphics side of Canva? Just curious to know.
Glad you enjoyed it Anna! If you have any interest, this is a newer version of that tutorial: ruclips.net/video/hiBAn1exlmc/видео.html A few things have changed since the first one was made, but you should be fine either way.
It's 100% online (which makes it even more impressive to me). Unfortunately though it means you can't use it without Internet. They do have a mobile app that works really well too.
I'm at two hours and there is so much different on my screen than what he's showing. In Elements there are not 9 boxes to choose from. Every program I have ever tried to use is so different than the tutorial. I should stick to Sales and farm this out.
Hey Glenn - I totally understand your frustration. Canva has released a new version (2.0) since this tutorial was made, so I made a new one if you're interested: ruclips.net/video/hiBAn1exlmc/видео.html
Want to create a grid, I add photos, but then I want to re-organize the photos... I cant do that without deleting the photos and adding them back in. Bruh
OK, to tell anyone can become graphic designer in 15 minutes it's hard words... I am not educated graphic designer I am an academic painter who stuck in graphic design for 10 years now, and I hesitate to call myself graphic designer....
Thanks for your comment! I think there's a difference between doing some graphic design and becoming a graphic designer. That being said, people with a general idea for design and computer know-how can create things in Canva that they might have had to outsource before. Does that make sense? I actually do graphic design for my clients (both online and print) but don't call myself a graphic designer.
Canva has released Version 2.0 so I've put together a new tutorial! Watch it here: ruclips.net/video/hiBAn1exlmc/видео.html
Excellent -thats why I like youtube. Covers everything I need in 15 mins. Great one.
Clicked like
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching.
Here's the super obvious link for Canva: www.canva.com.

I've subscribed and I'm looking forward to checking out the rest of your content :) Cheers ~
Sorry for the change. The new version does have a lot of great new tools (like searchable fonts, animations, etc.). Thank you for subscribing!

Great easy video to get you started!! Done very well. Canva is a godsend!!
For sure, love it!
Another winner! I appreciate the tutorial. There's always something new to learn.
I love Canva! They just came out with a new version (although it's very similar) so I'm working on a new tutorial.
This is probably a ridiculous question, but how do you assign color to a grid behind text? TIA
Hey Tia - I'm not sure I fully understand your question. What are you trying to do exactly?
Just shared this video with my grandson. He was talking about purchasing PhotoShop and I told him about Canva but this video is much more convincing than any NaNa! :) Also am sending to my granddaughter who has started her own photography business and is using PS but this is so much easier!

Great presentation. Instructive yet entertaining. Thanks a heap.

Thankyou again! --- did you know Canva was started in Australia? Yes our gift to the modern internet world.
I did! 🇦🇺
Thanks for going into some detail the options the paid version has!
Been using Canva for my thumbnails and whatnot and am loving it!
My pleasure! I think the paid version is well worth it.
Canva 2.0 has some new features too - I just released a new tutorial today (although you may know most of this): ruclips.net/video/hiBAn1exlmc/видео.html
Super helpful!!!! Thanks for the tutorial!

Great information. Thank you!

Hey great vid. But is it allowed to use the free pics Icons Fonts and so on for commercial use? For example Print on demand selling websites?
Depends on the image and if you purchase it, it depends on if you purchase single use or multi-use. Here are their terms of use: about.canva.com/terms-of-use/

I’m not a lawyer - I can’t give you legal advice. All of the terms of use are in that link I shared. Good luck with your project!
Can you use it for commercial use?
Yes! They have free images and some for sale starting at $1. Just make sure to read the terms.
Very well done tutorial. However--how come my Canva looks different than the one in this video? It's not as helpful when I want to try something you just demonstrated but all my controls are in different places and look different when I click on them.
Hi Kristin! I agree, that's frustrating. Canva has released version 2.0 since this video came out. I'm working on a new tutorial now.
Love this so easy thank you

Ha, I don't work for them but I am a fan! And I see you already discovered the newer version of this video.
Great tutorial thank you

Hello Jerry, is this downloadable as an app on mac computers or its just online?
It's 100% online (which makes it even more impressive to me). Unfortunately though it means you can't use it without Internet.
They do have a mobile app that works really well too.
This is amazing, thank you
Glad you enjoyed it!
I really love using CANVA specially in my schoolworks
Awesome to hear! I can't imagine life without Canva. 😀
Good stuff...thanks.
My pleasure Ron!
YOUR CONTENT IS AMAZING KEEP IT UP
You are too kind Marley - Thank you!
Could you upload your own pics?
You can in the paid version (which is pretty affordable). It's called Canva for Work. The free version has lots of free images in it too.
Nice

Correct, you need to insert them in the order you'd like.
Lmao! That hotdog got me subbing! Haha
Ha

dude, that music is terrible and loud
Sorry about that Sonny! I have lowered the volume in newer videos.
there is no graphic design in this!
What were you expecting? This is a video that allows people with little to no experience to design graphics.
