アラスターの一人称が私から俺に変わるの、本性を隠してる感じが分かりやすくてめちゃくちゃ良い……
When they say "me" to "me", Alastor changes from "watashi" to "ore".
Both mean "me" or "I", but "watashi" (especially for a guy) is super polite and "ore" is pretty aggressive (although many guys use it, especially with other guys). There's the midway point of "boku", so that makes it much more obvious he's hiding his true nature!
Vaggie's voice is so damn cool in the Japanese

I love how Alastor in the JP dub sounds older, makes him sound even sleazier.
Also if you cant speak Japanese, fun fact: Alastor's default speech sounds generally polite when talking to others. But when hes talking to himself or shifting into demon mode, it becomes noticably rougher.
Yes! He normally uses "watashi" but in those moments he switches to "ore" I really like it

Well from what I've heard, hentai also means bent (I got it from a joke in an originally Japanese show), and kinky (the original line) also means bent - mainly, kink on its own. Pervert also meant bent.
Long story short, they're all collectively twisted so it works, (pun intended)

Guys when Vox and Val are singing, after calling Alastor a weakling and stuff, at 12:02, the Japanese translate to "Of course the love seat is ours"! Like they just went full on gay with that line and I love it! 😭
Actually it's "empty" chair 「空いた椅子」but it is pronounced "ai" like love so your translation could be like a secret sub-meaning, like a pun, idk 🤔

Also I love Alastor in Japanese. He sounds softer with the filter than the English version like actual 1920s
The audio filter is oddly more prominent in the Jap dub. Though I wonder if they ever tried going for a more Transatlantic accent in English given the tech at the time of his death made a normal voice Tinny sounding

THAT IT!!! After watching japanese dub 3 parts over and over again. Alastor and Lucifer's japanese voice slowly brainrot in to my head untill when I see them anyway in media or fan art I only hear their japanese voice NOW! LOL😂 Also, I automatically made a headcanon in my head that Alastor and Lucifer's japanese version are seperate peoples from original english like they have slightly different behavior and personalities from original. Because, HOW GOOD! Of VA that they're not only dub but take them to their OWN that match their country and culture too. Example, I begin to mix Alastor's lore in my head that instead he from New Orleans to he from Tokyo/Kyoto because, his JP's va has fun to make me BELIEVE it like that from his voice acting and unique laugh 😂 Lucifer isn't about his lore but because his JP's VA take it to much serious to make me BELIEVE he's an old man by dub him to be EXACTLY an old man but, YES an adorable old man and somehow it's made him to be much more depressed man than english version. Idk it's a good or bad thing 😂

I like to think that whatever language someone can speak in Hell hears everyone else speak that language, so this could be what Nifty can hear, since i heard she's Japanese or can speak it.
Most of the songs suffer a bit from some awkward syllable counts in hitting the beats to the music, but the voice actors are killing it so they manage to emote past the occasional awkwardness with pure charm. Except for lucifer for some reason, whoever translated his dad song does an amazing job hitting the rythym without sacrificing meaning or flavor- but then his voice actor fails to match the energy :(

I guess they wanted to have the English voice more prominent over the radio filter, honestly an alternative could’ve been giving him a Transatlantic accent (or if he has one, make it more obvious) given that was the radio standard around the time given a carbon microphone made a regular voice sounding muffled and tinny. Either way, the Japanese crew understood the assignment and it went well

the JP version is how i first experienced hazbin and it deeply affected my affinity for it. i cannot understate how much better camilla sounds in this version -- her ENG voice actress doesn't even come close. the intensity of alastor's delivery is superb, and the way he speaks is much more reminiscent of old time radio with an injection of sounding like a goddamn ghost (to me). angel's VA is incredibly charming without the cheesy quality of the ENG. it's also so funny to contrast JP and ENG Lucifer. he sounds like an OLD MAN in JP. thank you for uploading these!
