The way Alastor speaks in Japanese makes him sound like one side of a comedy duo that they have radio shows for. Idk much about it but I love it
Fun fact: His voice actor also voices the Japanese dub version of King Julien from Madagascar
He very specifically sounds like an old Japanese radio announcer, a direct translation of how his English voice is an old American radio announcer voice.
I was thinking he sounds like the guy who screams "Sex" while running through a tunnel.

one thing i love about emily and charlies duet in this dub is how they sound like theyre yelling more than singing. theyre both furious in that scene, and in english theyre singing does sound aggressive, but the fact that it sounds likr they're yelling in anger in the japanese dub really sells it
I'm taking Japanese (though previously self-taught by listening to music) and it's surreal how I can understand parts of this video. Like, I think the “Hell is Forever” part translates to something like “Hell will continue eternally”.

@@nanopoi8145I think you're not the first person to think the word "bakari" in that part contains the meaning of "baka". It doesn't - no more than the English word "fork" contains the meaning of "for". "naze tenshi bakari suki katte ni?" is kind of like "why do only angels get to do as they please?" and "bakari" is just the word "only".

The ara ara at the end I can't-
I love how close they got it for the roles, but the singing is a bit rough I can’t lie. I think they were given really high standards to meet and a lot of the notes come across as strained or flat.
I would go out on a limb and guess most Japanese V.As don't have American style musical training. Most of them probably have vocal/singing training, but the methodology is different. So they can have pretty singing, but it may not quite 'fit'.
I can't say for sure, but for a few of the songs, it kind of sounds more like a mixing issue. As though the vocals are completely separate from the music recording (which they are but it shouldn't sound like that)
